Does anyone know if any of the rooms have double sinks and if so, which longhouse they would be in? There will be myself, my 3 sons and my sister sharing a room and I think the 2nd sink would be convenient. Depending on which longhouse these room are in, I might make a request. BTW, I've booked us for GV. Thanks! :)

 Hi all. I just finished with catching up with all 44 pages of this thread!!! :dance3: Great info!

I have a GV booked for first week of Oct and am also considering upgrading to conceirge. However, if I did it would only be to GVC. I have heard alot of y'all talking about how great LVC is and the fantastic views. What about GVC?

I was thinking one of the pluses for us is that my teenage daughter is bringing a friend and it might be a good place for them to hang out while the baby is napping, etc. Kind of an extension of the room. . . What do y'all think?

I am also thinking of requesting a first floor, so we would have the patio. We will have a toddler so it will be nice to be able to let him play a bit on the patio. Any thoughts.

Thanks!

Fircat,

We just got back a few weeks ago from staying at the Poly GVC. I really enjoyed it, and it was worth the extra for my family. We have three children, so it was great to have a place to bring the older two when the baby was napping. We enjoyed the breakfast and the snacks. My husband was excited to just go down to the lounge and grab a can of diet coke whenever he needed. (It's just the little things that make him happy.) They were also very nice about getting us milk for the baby to drink.

The location of the Hawaii longhouse is ideal. It is close to both pools, the beach, and the water taxi that takes you across to the MK.

We requested and received a first floor room because of the patio, but honestly didn't use it that much. It was nice, though, not having to get all the kids up and down the stairs. The gardens/landscaping at the Poly are so beautiful that our view was nice.

Have a GREAT stay! I'm already dreaming of when we can return.

Tahiti has double sinks. We stayed there last year.

Tahiti has double sinks (as Carla said :) ) it is also one of the longhouses with the largest rooms in the resort. You might want to take a look at Tikiman's site. It has wonderful information and feels like a mini vacation at the Poly. http://tikiman2001.homestead.com/ I believe there at a couple longhouses that have double sinks.

When are you going? Tahiti is going down for rehab. I am not sure of the dates. We stayed in Tahiti last year and found it very convienent. Just a short walk to the TTC to board a monorail, or you can take the ferry over to the MK.

Happy planning, Castillo Mom. :surfweb:

It is a big part of the fun, isn't it? :cool1:

I think I read the answer to my question somewhere, but I cannot find the post, so here goes...

Does anyone know which of the longhouses has rooms that are completely refurbished? Including the new headbords, lighting and sliding glass doors?

Thanks!

Tahiti and Rapa Nui (except the disabled rooms) have double sinks in the bathroom.

As of right now Aotearoa, Rarotonga and Samoa are the buildings with everything completed. Fiji, Hawaii, Tuvalu, Niue and Rapa Nui still need the headboards and Rapa Nui still needs the 2nd floor done and all the sliding glass doors. Tahiti and Tokelau will start soon on the entire buildings.

Hi!
I am going with my mom, and 15 month old dd to stay at the Poly July 15-21. Any thought on the best requets I should make as far as our room goes? Best building or floor or anything?
Thanks!
Miranda

I would say that depends on the discount you are trying for. Seems like AP rates are late in coming...like 2-3 months in advance. If you are going for AAA rate, I would suggest 9 months in advance to get the best deal. I f no discount, I would say 3-6 months. Perhaps someone who is a more seasoned traveler can advise you better.

How soon do I need to book for Sept 2007?

Jenny, I would book as soon as you know your dates. If you're planning on booking a package, those prices are not out yet but you can book room only now. Once packages and or discounts are available, you can make changes to your reservation.

I was wondering if you can print boarding cards at this resort as i will be staying here in August and would love to check in online and save some time.
Many thanks,
Claire xx

Yes, the concierge in the lobby can do this for you.

Plus if you happen to be flying on a participating airline, you can check your bags as well at a kiosk outside the lobby.

Have fun at the Polynesian! :thumbsup2

We are going in September, we were leaning towards Tokelau but it looks like the renovations won't be done on time. So I put in a request for Aotearoa, third floor, close up view of monorail. I don't really see anyone talking about that building, any comments? We have garden view booked. I picked that because my son is fascinated with how things work, and mechanical things, I thought he would really love being out on the balcony, watching the monorails go by. Any opinions out there? I just think my kids will enjoy that more than facing the pool, we have a pool. Of course, I would love an upgrade just like anyone else, so perhaps requesting this will nix any chance of that...
