The Official October 2013 Trip Planning Thread

So I was told the ToT 10 miler is Oct 5th- we would be arriving Oct 6th. Does anyone know if things are closed or anything going on after the race? Also how many days do the crowds usually stick around?

I am no expert so I am sure someone can give you a better answer but I have heard crowds are really only affected on that day at that part it doesn't seem to expand out to other parks. That is when we are looking at showing up also so I would be interested to see what others say about that.

Well after going back and forth about going in Oct or Nov we have decided to stick with what we know. We are going to go in Nov. We love seeing all of the holiday decorations at the parks and resorts!! So you can remove me from the list. I hope all of you have great trips.

Myself, DH, DS-4, and DD-20 mos (at trip time) are booked at POFQ! I have been planning this for months! My DH thinks I'm crazy  I can't seem to make my mind up about our ADRs but know we will be hitting up the Tuskerhouse for Donald's breakfast and Chef Mickey's. We are excited to be there for FW and hope for FD!!!

I edited the first post to remove you. Feel free to stick around and chat with us though! :goodvibes

:welcome: to the group! I have added you to the first post. What ADRs are you thinking about? We really loved Tusker House breakfast! It was really fun and had good food!

OK Guys, a little help.

I know it is 8 months away but I am trying to plan out the first bit of our holiday.
Ok a little background is needed for this to make sense.
My Mum, Nan, Dad and his GF are all going on 24th Sept the week before my sister and I. We join them halfway through their holiday, they then fly home and we have 2 weeks just us (my sister and I).

Our plan so far is-

24th - Check-In 7pm & Meal at House of Blues
25th - Magic Kingdom, Electrical Parade & Wishes Fireworks (if on)
26th - Epcot
27th - UNIVERSAL STUDIOS
28th - Blizzard Beach / Lazy Morning, Downtown Disney then Rainforest Cafe
29th - Animal Kingdom then Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue
30th - BUSCH GARDENS
1st - Hollywood Studios, sister and I arrive around 7PM then Meal
2nd - The Magic Behind Our Steam Trains Tour, Magic Kingdom, Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party
3rd - SEAWORLD
4th - Keys to the Kingdom Backstage Tour, Animal Kingdom, Electrical Parade & Wishes Fireworks (if on)
5th - Hollywood Studios, Typhoon Lagoon, Balloon Flight then Splitsville
6th - ISLANDS OF ADVENTURE
7th - Cinderella's Royal Table (Breakfast), Epcot, Be Our Guest
8th - Mum, Nan, Dad and Dad GF Check-Out 2pm

The bolded things are things that need to be booked in advance so might move dates, times etc

Anything I have missed out or any way you think I can improve on it?

Thank you Guys :thumbsup2

Baylie My question is about the 7th you have breakfast at the castle and BOG both at MK then spending the day at Epcot. Any reason to not just stay in the MK so you are not going back and forth between parks? Maybe do Epcot on the 2nd then go to MK close to the time for MNSSHP to start. Just a thought.

Hi guys :cool1:

we are on the DDP for 11 days:thumbsup2 and staying at the SSR. I think we will try some of the DTD restaurants.

Guess we will try T-Rex and HoB.
Can anybody tell me about the gospel brunch there?
As DH does not like fish i think we wont go to Fultons, but what other table service restaurants would be worth going to?

Fulton's does have steak and other options besides seafood/fish. T-Rex is definitely on our "must-do" list for this year!

The problem with that is that we all want MK to be our first park of our holiday. Silly I know. :rotfl2:
I think I def need to jigg it around though

We just changed out dates from Dec to Oct 6-17. I need to change my ticker but we are so excited. We haven't been since Feb 2011. We are staying at POP.

Hey everyone!! We will be at BLT, Oct. 21-25!! I'm so excitedpixiedust: It will be me, DH, DD14, DS, DDIL, DGS2 and DS21. The main reason for going is our 15th anniversary, but it will also be our DGS2 first trip.

Any info on going in October would be welcome!! Thanks!!

Hoping to change my ticker soon to show an October trip over my kids school break... fingers crossed that we can settle on dates before or after the 17th!

Cannot wait for MNSSHP and Hallowishes and Food&Wine!

Anyone know if they offer free dining or pacakges typically in Mid-October? I think the TAs honor the better deals if they come up after you book. Not sure if Disney does when you book directly through them.

anyone have a pinterest page with Disney info they would be willing to share? I have one but I am always looking for more to add to my page. If you don't want to post it but inbox me you can. I see a lot of the same stuff but occasionally find something new that is helpful

I've been stalking the forums since I booked last week, I suppose I should say hi :). We have our first resort trip planned 09/28-10/06 at POFQ. I am beyond obsessed. We went 5 years ago during Christmas with a newborn staying off the resort. It was both magical and horrible! We are looking forward to older kids and less busy. Also staying at the parks and dining plan...did I mention obsessed? I cannot wait for ADRs to open!

Nice to be in the company of this group!
