The Official November 2010 Car rental Thread

Try Budget using BCD x474200 (travelocity public code) and ecoupon MUWZ023 for $25.00 off. The total after coupon is applied on checkout is $273.13.

Do you have to pre-pay with this code?

When making my ressie they are wanting credit card info, don't want to pay 6+ mos in advance espcially since we're still just planning and not sure we're really going.

I just looked at this rate and it came to $298.13 total.
Not sure why the $25 didn't come off.
I could have booked it without pre-paying.
So far, even the $298 is the cheapest I've seen for early November. Rates are bound to come down for that time at some point! I'm hoping for a minivan around $250 total.

It just threw me off that they were asking for credit card info, read in the small print they don't charge you now but if you are a no show they'll charge you $75.

From what I've read while researching these codes, the coupon will come off the total when you turn in the car.

Just booked with National. My dates are 11/18 - 11/27. The total is
$238.32 (Fullsize).

Thanks Irishdancer.
I booked it and was never asked for credit card info. That's strange.
I also don't see where the $25 will come off after returning the car. I called and they said I'd pay what was on the final page.
I'll keep looking. I'll probably spend way more than $25 worth of my time doing it too!! :lmao:

Rocperez, what codes did you use to get that total $238 rate? We need a standard car that same week too. Thanks!

Actually it is a Fullsize car. I edited the post. I used a coupon code from the Entertainment book - NF6197FJD (free day w/ five day rental). The contract ID (7232219), I think is for Emerald Club members.

Mid-size with Alamo, Oct 31 through Nov 7, $136.01 inclusive of taxes/fees

Used entertainment discount, base rate was 118.89/week, minus the $30 entertainment coupon code, booked it on march 16

I'm very happy with this rate!:cool1:

Anyone find lower prices getting closer to their vacations?

I just booked- Locked, low and go on Dollar for a mid size or better vehicle-they choose- for $165 including taxes Nov. 6-13
Very happy with that and booked two cars.
If I find a mini van $200 or less total, I'll book that, but a mid size is fine for the four of us.

you and me both buddy 11/5-11/20 i believe alamo is no longer posting them however, people are saying they are in the lots when you go to pick up your car...let me know if you stumble across anything....

OP thank you for starting the thread..my wife thinks i'm crazy for planning so far ahead but she never complains when things go smooth during vacation :)

We booked via Alamo with BJ's code for Nov3-14 for $238. When we went last time there were no midsized cars and they were offering minivans. Hoping this happens again..
