Strawberry Lemonade, I love your new photo of Lucas too! He looks so happy on his play gym. Madison had the same one and loved it too. It was where she first flipped from back to tummy.
Thanks! He's already made friends with the hanging parrot.

We've been waiting before doing anything. My 6 week appt is Monday so I'm waiting to see whatt the dr says, but to tell you the truth, it still hurts if I walk around too much so I'm kind of glad we're not doing anything yet.

Good morning everyone :flower:

I need some advice. My WDW trip is getting closer and closer. My aunt suggested that I rent a car because the baby might have a hard time on the bus. I never rent a car down there. I thought it was a good idea, but the few times I drove down to WDW, getting to my parking spot was not always a picnic either. My DH says Aidan will probably be happier on the bus where I can hold him. What do you think? I'm getting so nervous about taking him on this trip. He has been very cranky lately. He was miserable in Sesame Place the other day. I hope he is not miserable in Disney. We'll be there for 9 days!

disney transportation is fine.. the only thing that stinks is, you can't leave him in the stroller when you get on the bus, but you can the monorail.. but if you rent a car you'd have to get him out of the stroller then too..

i went when my dd was 5 months old.. all i can say is, go on his schedule.. if he's tired, go take a nap.. if he's hungry feed him.. if he says i wanna go ride it's a small world, go ride it.. :rotfl: n

Hi everyone,

Thanks for all the advice and ahem, suggestions for my "concern." I guess I'll make sure I have something there if we need it. ;) I was never one for begging for it before so this whole thing has me a little mixed up. Mybe it is the hormones... if that's the case, than I need to run with it before they go away :teeth: .

T&S --

Now I'm a little freaked out. It hurt after a c-section??? That has me a little nervous. Also, its funny that you said you wanted it when you couldn't but didn't want it when you could. Hubby is already teasing me about that. That's always been one of his big complaints... Well maybe if he'd decide to get the show on the road sometime before midnight instead of waiting until he watches every sports update on cable (there's a lot of channels). I really hate falling asleep through it. :confused3

I still don't know if I'm going to force the issue this weekend. :rolleyes1 I guess I'll see how it goes.

Gretchen

DisKim~ Personally I would take the bus. It seems like it would actually be less of a hassle to me. Plus, when Aidan gets tired and you want to go back to the room temporarily and maybe go back later you won't have to keep going to the parking lot to find your car. It just seems easier to me.

Gretchen~ Well, I did forget to mention that I was told I had a bacterial infection after my 6 week checkup so maybe that's why it hurt?! I don't know. I agree with Alice though...you really should use some kind of lubrication. It helps A LOT! It's funny b/c I am not too tired to "do the deed". It's just that Dh's schedule and mine don't mesh well now that Kylie is here. He goes to bed earlier than us usually and then it's too late by the time I come to bed. It's okay though b/c neither of us are complaining. He works hard and is tired usually. I am pretty occupied with Kylie these days (of course) so I just don't think about it much. It's a good thing that we have a strong relationship and that there's more to our marriage than that or we'd both be going crazy....lol! I do think the reason I wanted to so bad at first was due to hormones though. I was like that through my whole preg. too, but I wasn't that way before I got preg. So I guess my body is just getting back to the way it was before I was preg. which is why I don't want to so much now. I know things will be a little more consistent when Kylie's a little older so it's okay. Anyway, good luck!

joats~ Lol, about wanting to go swimming! All I wanted them to do was give me the okay to take a bath! I wasn't able to take a bath b/c of the c-section and I couldn't stand it. I love baths and prefer those to showers so 6 weeks seemed like forever!

DisKim, Madison loved the Disney buses at 3-4 months old (and still does!) so if it were me, I wouldn't rent a car. Madison hated being strapped into her infant carseat and would cry from the moment we put her in till we arrived at our destination and took her out. It was horrible. On the Disney buses, however, she was very, very happy, cause she still got that rocking effect but even better cause Mommy was holding her! She loved them and fell asleep on many bus rides, something she never did in the car. Yes, you'll have to fold the stroller, but we just got her in the Bjorn while waiting for a bus (if she was even in the stroller, which she rarely was at that age anyway), took whatever was in the basket out, then folded it so we were ready when the bus pulled up. Having her in the Bjorn was much easier than holding her, because we sometimes had to stand so at least my hands were free.

Madison just deleted the part I wrote about why I think Aidan will be okay in Disney, but basically I think he'll be okay because you'll be there for a long time, so you can move at a slower pace if necessary, plus he'll get used to the place after a couple of days. Madison was generally a happy baby at home, but would get grouchy if she had to be put down for took long, so she loved WDW since I carried her in the Bjorn all day. She cried once the whole trip, and that was during Festival of the Lion King cause we were sitting in front of a very, very loud child who would 'roar' in this loud, ear-piercing voice. Every time she screamed, Madison went hysterical. My husband had to leave with her right as the show was starting cause we felt so bad for her.

As far as doing the "deed", I'll second the lubricant! My dr. told me at my 6 week check up to go buy some (and some protection since the pill wouldn't really kick in for one cycle) after my appointment. Off to Target I went! It did help, but I really don't care for it.

Tasha+Scott I have to chuckle about your sleeping schedule with your DH doesn't really mesh. My DH always tells me to wake him up if I'm in the mood! :teeth: Once or twice I tried that when he was really soundly sleeping, and he wanted to kick himself the next day when I told him he wouldn't wake up.

DisKim If I get the stupid disc I need from Verizon to install the net on our desktop, I'll be taking my laptop when we leave on Friday. I'll give you a play-by-play on travelling with Jimmy. I'm only concerned about the length of the car ride. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that things go smoothly.

gwcollins - I've got you beat on the "relations" issue. I was strictly forbidden from it for the last 4 months of my pregnancy. Of course, that was followed by the 6 weeks after delivery. My DH is a patient man!

Thanks for the advice on the car rental. You saved me about $300. Aidan is so crabby lately that I'm afraid he's going to scream the whole time we're in Disney. Lissawynn - I can't wait for those reports. You must be getting excited. What time are you leaving in the car? We drove when my DS5 was 10 months. We drove through the night while he slept and he was fine. I sometimes think driving with a baby is better because you can stop if you need to and if he cries, you don't have to worry about bothering anybody. Good luck and drive safe.

Tasha - I keep forgetting to mention that I'm very jealous that Kylie sleeps through the night. Aidan is a tough nut to crack. He still gets up every 3-4 hours. I try to let him cry it out but DH can't handle it. Aidan cries tears which makes my DH melt and he can't help but pick him up.

Yes, I am thrilled at how well she sleeps at night but I do sometimes wish she'd sleep more during the day. She doesn't nap much which is probably why she sleeps all night so I guess it's a good thing. When did Aiden start producing tears? Kylie had a couple of tears once last month and we haven't seen any since which I found odd. She doesn't really cry so much as just fuss though. I just wondered when we might start seeing actual tears. Dh would melt too btw!

justhat~ I meant to add this before and forgot. We actually had Kylie's pics done at the portrait studio in walmart! We got a package for only $1.88!!! Of course after we ended up buying all the extra poses we spent about $100 which was still cheap! Can't beat that!

Tasha - He has been crying tears for a while. I can't remember when he actually started - maybe 1 1/2 months or so. He's very dramatic (like his older sister). You got a great deal on the pictures. I'm embarassed to say I spent $400 on Aidan's. I still have to post them. I'm inept at such things so I need DH to do it for me.

Wow, thanks Tasha, you've given me more faith in the Target portrait studio now. We have a coupon for Target portraits that is $4.99/sheet, a free 8x10, and no sitting fee so I thought it was too great to pass on so we're going to take Madison there. I was going to do it at 18 months, but the coupon expires next week so we'll be going then. We actually took her Saturday, but went to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory first. Well, Madison and I always share a cherry Icee when we see a movie, and I hold it while she drinks so it doesn't spill. Halfway through the movie she had to get her diaper changed (always picks a great time to potty!) and as I was collecting her stuff she grabbed the Icee, which had now melted, and knocked it all over her clothes. Of course, it's my own fault for dressing her in her photo outfit before she was sitting on the mat with the camera on her, but I wasn't thinking about the Icee. I had a bib on her, but it went way past the bib. I tried washing her clothes in te bathroom when I changed her, but there was still a pink tint. I thought, whatever, you won't see it. Well we go back to our seats and she decides to crawl on the theater floor, right where she spilled the Icee. So she got cherry stains, plus tons, and tons of dirt on her outfit. I had a backup outfit with me cause I planned to get her pictures done in 2 outfits, so we were going to go ahead and just get them all done with the 2nd outfit, but when I put it on her, everytime she sat down the straps of the dress fell off her shoulders. She's so thin that nothing ever fits her-I had to actually get a dress altered cause I realized by the time she fit into it in width, it would be way too short. I was so frustrated I told my husband we were just going home. By the way, that outfit is currently soaking in Oxyclean in the laundry room, that's how bad the stains were!

Shopper Robin here- this was on my "list" of okay shopping between now and WDW. I hit Stride Rite this AM cause it's the buy one, get one 50% off sale. Esp great if you have more than one kiddo to shop for. The baby shoes aren't supposed to be on sale, but she let me get a discount cause I bought 3 kid shoes and just 1 baby shoe (if I tried to buy 2 baby shoes I don't think she would have let me do it). Anyway, it's a great deal, esp if you have any school age kids who are rough on their shoes. I have learned by trial and error that I would rather buy brands like Stride Rite and actually have the show last til they grow out of it than buy Payless Shoes and have them fall apart in a month or two. My boys are ROUGH on their shoes. I think the sale is going on for a week or so. And I didn't even walk by Gymbo or Gap....so proud of myself although I think I have everything I want from those two stores anyway, so it wasn't THAT big of an accomplishment :teeth:  .

Hope you're all having a good day. I'm just laughing at the "deed" talk. I am going to be JUMPING my husband when he finally gets home. I'm just now "in the mood." I think this whole pregnancy and postpartum thing has been good in regard to him not being here. Meaning I really haven't missed sex....only these last 5 months or so is going to be tough instead of a whole year and a half of missing it. I know poor DH is going NUTS. So, ladies, appreciate your hubbies.

It's very reassuring to read other's stories about getting back into the marital routine. It's really not very easy. I frequently tell my husband that he's a saint!

Tasha I'm so jealous of the sleeping thing too!

We are making some adjustments to Tyler's schedule to see if we can lengthen his nighttime sleep. Wish us luck!

Not much new with here. I bought a couple of frames today for Tyler's pictures, I still need to find more. Man, those things add up. I also want a ledge to display them on, but I haven't found exactly what I want at a reasonable price.

Big pat on the back "shopper robin" for avoiding the Gap and Gymboree! :) lol

I am tired. Tonight we had a builder come with the plans he had drawn up for a possible addition to our home. This would include a master br for DH and me, a master bath, and walk-in closet for me. Also, a two car garage would be under our br. This is all up in the air right now b/c we're not sure we want to stay in this house for the next 30 or so years (and that's what would happen if we spent the $$$ for the addition).
A realtor is coming to do a walk-through of our home tomorrow afternoon. DH did the pre-approval thing at the bank today, and things are a go for much more than we're ever going to spend if we decide to buy another house. All of this is to get a jump on the local real estate market. It just seems that if you don't have a realtor looking for you, you never know about the houses you'd like to see until they're already off the market. Also, we'd like an idea of what our house could possibly sell for, if and when we decide to do that.
I have Jimmy's stuff packed for our trip. My stuff is ready. I just need to fold most of it and put it in a suitcase. I'm sure I'll forget stuff, but since we have DS's car, we can run to the nearest Wal-Mart or Target and get whatever we need.
Maybe it's b/c I'm tired, but I'm not off the wall about WDW yet. I know when I take my first monorail ride that will change.

 Hi everyone! I'm finally coming over to join you guys. I posted on the Mom's to be thread a few weeks ago but haven't had a chance to venture over to this thread.

Mary Grace was born June 30th (4 weeks ago today, time is flying :sad1: ). She was 7 pounds and 20" long. Her brother and sister are both in love with her. We were really worried about DS he was not excited about having another sister but as soon as she was born he forgot all about that.

So far she is a really good baby, nurses well (did from the beginning, I never needed the nurses help at all in the hospital), she sleeps well. Yesterday she was awake alot (I think it was just due to the heat, we had alot of errands to run, she was in her infant seat and heat index was 105°-107°, I think she was just hot). Anyway, she made up for it last night, she slept from 10:30-6:30 a.m., of course I woke up about to burst and leaking  . I really need for her to get up during the night.

I posted some pics a few weeks ago on another thread, I will try to repost them. She looks like her sister Charlotte when she was a baby.

KristiKelly Congratualtions! All of your children are beautiful. Mary Grace is quite a cutie pie! It's good to hear she is doing so well.

Congrats KristiKelly! What a beautiful family!

KristiKelly --

I don't know how I didn't see the pictures of Mary Grace! She is a cutie! What a beautiful group of children you have.

Gretchen

Welcome KristiKelly! Mary Grace is gorgeous! All your children are! I'm glad she's so easy for you too! :goodvibes

KristiKelly - what a beautiful baby!!! She is so precious -your children are gorgeous.

Enjoy you time with her.

I had never had a sleeper prior to my daughter being born and then she came along and started sleeping chunks of time like your daughter just did - right about at the same time. I had to change my nightie every night, put down one of those crib sheets that help when the babies leak at night under me, and basically suffer for quite a few nights before alll became regulated. It was no fun for me right away that she was sleeping that long, that's for sure. It wasn't like I was getting the sleep too.
