Thanks everyone for the nice things you said.

Off topic- this smilie is weird! :maleficen It just startled me when I signed in to post! Eek! A bouncing Maleficent!

Anyway, I had some good talks with my mom and my best girl friend and they were both like, "For your own sanity's sake- it's OKAY to wean Molly....you're a great mom and she's a great baby...she's different than the boys and that's ok." Bob sent me an email saying essentially the same thing and that I was a great mom, etc. So, I'm going to see how the next two weeks goes far as her interest in the nursing goes as she eats more and more solids. She doesn't need to nurse as much, but I will get her to latch on and it's like this- gulp-gulp un-attach and cry....latch on...gulp, gulp, gulp- latch off and cry. It's so tiring for me to keep getting her back on, etc. It's like she just doesn't get the groove most of the time (she does do well at night however). But a bottle she will practically grab out of my hands (no lie) and suck it down. So, I guess she just prefers that. And that's ok.

I hope lissawynns driving trip is going ok....I drove from San Jose to Disneyland when Sam was about 6 months old (about a 6 hour drive) and it wasn't too terrible. I am going on the airplane next week from Portland to San Jose (about a 100 minute flight) by myself with all three. :scared: Say a prayer! I have done it by myself with 2....but not 3.

Anyway, hope you are all having a good day. :cloud9:

Alice, I swear I don't know how you do it! You deserve a million massages!!

I am having a really rough day! Kylie has been screaming and crying a lot today which is not like her at all! First of all she is teething. Second of all she was really tired but didn't want to sleep. The teething ring has helped tremendously with the teething issue but getting her to stop crying and take a nap has been a real struggle. Dh came home for lunch and was able to calm her down and get her to sleep (yeah, she's a daddy's girl already!) but she woke up right after he left. Well, I let her take a bath with me and she loved that so she was fine for awhile. About an hour later she started screaming and crying again. I tried feeding her, changing her, rocking her, giving her her paci, singing to her...you name it, I tried it! Finally out of desperation I layed her in her crib and let her cry for about 10 min. I felt terrible! She's crying and I'm crying! Finally she calms down some and I pick her up. I try to make her a bottle and she starts screaming again. I pick her up and take her with me to fix her bottle and she has a tantrum and ends up kicking her bottle over before I can get the top on it! So now dd is screaming, formula is everywhere! I have to set her down by this point to clean up the mess. This makes her cry/scream louder! So now dd is throwing a tantrum, I am cleaning up the mess and crying again too! I finally was able to get her to sleep! She slept for about 30 min. and just woke up. She is much happier and smiling as though nothing ever happened! I hope tomorrow goes much smoother than today! Dh is supposed to be home any min. and I have never been happier to have him here!

Alice~ :grouphug: I don't know how you do it! I am going crazy today and really can't wait till dh gets home to help me! I can't even imagine how hard you must have it...esp. w/ 3 kids! Vent away, sister! Personally if nursing is stressing you I would quit! 5 months was a good amount of time to give her the nutrients and Lord knows you've got enough to deal with without stressing about that! I was formula fed and turned out fine...no matter what you've heard, lol! Kylie is also ff and thriving just fine! Bfing is great but you shouldn't continue to feel so stressed when you could ff her and she'd be just as fine. JMO. Take it or leave it. It's your decision. Good luck!

justhat~ Cute pics of Madison! :cloud9:

lissawynn~ Have fun w/the Mouse! :earsboy:

Justhat - Great pics

Lissawynn - Have a great trip!!

Alice28 - What would anyone use her for :maleficen ?? I'll make sure to say a prayer for your flight. Good luck! You are a braver woman than I could ever be. I'd be scared to death to fly by myself with the three kids. Gee...did I make you feel better? Guess what! I got 2 adorable Gymboree outfits in the mail for Aidan from my stepmother. How great is that? They're adorable! She's so sweet. She sent Disney dollars for my older kids and an adorable Mickey and Minnie purse for me.

We just took Aidan out to dinner and he was so good. It makes me feel better about my upcoming trip. I've been worried that he'll be horrible in the restaurants. We got our ME tags today. I'm getting so excited :Pinkbounc . The only bad part about the trip is school will be starting when we get back and that means back to work and major stress form me. Oh well!

Tasha - I'm sorry you had such a bad day. Aidan was like that last Sunday and Monday. I think he's teething too. He also is very crabby when he is overtired. There are just days when he can't get himself to take a nap and he gets so tired that he's miserable. Come to think of it, I feel like that too!

T&S- sorry you're having a bad day.. :guilty: try giving her some tylenol and rubbing a little baby anbesol on her gums.. this was always a lifesaver for me..

Alice28,
Vent away anytime. That's what we are here for :grouphug: . Miss Molly will be just fine no matter what decision you make, I'm sure of it.

Lisawynn,
Have a great trip!

T&S,
I hope today is better for you. It's days like those that you just have to go minute by minute and hope it gets better.

I had a whole post written out but it got deleted! So anyway let me try this again!

Today is going sooo much better than yesterday! Kylie was so tired yesterday and was cranky right up till she finally went to bed for the night at 7 p.m., and yes, that's early for her. We expected her to wake up at least once during the night since she went to bed so early but we were suprised when she slept until 4:30 a.m. Dh got up with her to give me a break and he said that he gave her a bottle and she went right back to sleep. She didn't wake up this morning until 9 a.m.

She is back to her normal, happy, smiling self today which is great! I love my smiling girl better than my screaming one! ;) Anyway, a while ago Scott told me he wanted to take a nap so Kylie and I went into her bedroom to play. She loves her room b/c it is done in a Winnie the Pooh theme and she is always smiling at her walls and her bedding, lol! So I put her on a blanket in her floor and proceeded to play with her. I got out some of her toys. She is just now getting to where she is interested in them. She still doesn't care enough to grab them herself but she likes to look at them. Well, after a little bit I got out a book my dad and stepmom bought for her. It is one of those giant Winnie the Pooh books that has the buttons on the bottom that you can push to play music/sound effects. I set it slightly to the side of Kylie and read it to her. She loved that book! It needs batteries so I didn't use the sound effects but she loved that book so much that she kept trying to roll toward it. She has known how to roll from her stomach onto her back since she was a month old (although she hates to lay on her stomach when she's awake so she doesn't do it much!) but she hasn't rolled onto her stomach from her back yet. Well, she was laying on her back and trying really hard to roll onto her stomach! She didn't quite get there and she kept trying over and over again. She hasn't done it yet but she has gotten extremely close so she should be rolling both ways any day now! I am excited! After all the playing she got wore out, I guess. She fell asleep in her floor and is sleeping there now! Like I said today has been wonderful compared to yesterday! At least she is taking a nap so we won't have to go through the crankiness again today!

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend! :wave2:

Tasha - I'm glad things are going better with Kylie.

I'm so excited. I just upgraded from ASmo to CSR for my upcoming trip. I've always wanted to stay there. I decided that since we will probably be at the resort alot because of Aidan, I should stay where I'm happy. I started Aidan on cereal. He does pretty well, but he gets mad about halfway through the bowl. I can't figure out why he does this. I wanted to get him started before our trip. The doctor is starting him this month anyway and I didn't want to be trying something new with him at Disney. I think I finally found a baby carrier I like. I tried it on at BRU this time. It's an Eddie Bauer. I thought it was very comfortable and safe. This is the fourth one I've bought. I tried the hip hammock on. It says it is for babies 15 pounds an up. Aidan is 15 pounds but I think he would fall right out the side. I did not like it at all. Well, have a great day! I'm cleaning out my basement today and I'm using the DIS to procrastinate for a while.

diskim- when are you going to disney? we may be there for a couple of days at the same time.. we are going 18th-24th!!.. make sure to wear some lime green!!

Teething is awful, isn't it? I did find that DS does well with Hylands Teething Tabs - they are chamomile and some other stuff in a milk powder that is a natural pain reliever. They dissolve on his tongue instantly. The chamomile also seems to help him relax...

We made reservations today for next June - finally going back. At that point it will be 2 years!!! Maybe we'll get to sneak a Disney fix in sooner, but I'm not holding my breath.

Hope everyone has a great week.

Madison loves the Hyland Teething tablets top. I say loves because until a month ago she only had 2 teeth, but had been teething for about a year. Her first 2 teeth came in at 10 months, but we could see the white bumps for about 2 months before they broke through. Now she has 8 teeth (6 teeth came in over 10 days!) with a 9th almost out too. So we use the teething tablets often, and Madison gets so happy when she sees the bottle. If she's crying she immediately stops and opens her mouth. They really seem to work wonders!

Dis Kim, that is rather early to be starting food, so don't worry if he doesn't want it. Even a few bites is good, a whole bowl is alot. Lily normally doesn't eat that much now (almost a year old.) Also ceral can cause constupation so keep an eye out for it. Just cutting it out is better then adding something new to conteract it.

As for hip carriers, they may be for 15 lbs and up, but not for babies as young as yours. They need to be able to sit up comfortabley and "hang on" in a way or at least mold to your body. He may be able to use in a few months or so. It can be eaiser on your back for older larger children then front ones. The edie bower one sounds good. I have a leather baby bijorn that I bought used that I found really works well for DD. With older DD we tried sling and snuglie. Thank God BRU takes things back. She hated them both. A good carrier is a good thing at WDW. :cheer2:

You should like CRS it is very nice. It can be a bit of walking so call and request a room in a certian building the week before you get there, and on the 1st floor so you don't have to carry the stroller up the stairs nightly. Have a great trip. Our next one is in Jan and I am starting to get excited abut it now. The only down side is Lily will be 18 months old and I am expecting a handful.

Having a better day or two emotionally....but so much for my great sleeper. Molly was up no less than 4 times last night- crabbing and crying. I think she may have had gas or something. I'm fried today.

I'm getting a little jazzed about WDW too...I think we have something like 53 days left. :cool1:

ahutton~ Glad you are finally going back! We are going in May and it will be almost 2 years since our last trip too! I am having bad withdrawal pains, lol!

Alice~ Glad you are starting to feel a little better. There must be something in the air b/c my good sleeper did the same thing as Molly the other night! Thankfully she is back to normal in every way right now! Hope I didn't just jinx myself! :scared:

For those of you that were asking the other day about Princess in Training outfits...last night we went to walmart and they had a shirt/skirt set. The shirt said Princess in Training on it! It was around $8! I wanted to buy one for Kylie for our May trip but wasn't sure what size to buy. She will turn 1 year old while we are there. I figured she'd be in an 18 months (she'll be 3 months on Fri. and is in a 3-6 months but they were a little big on her until a couple weeks ago if that helps!) but my mom says most babies are closer to a 24 mo. by then. What size would you buy? And for those of you with older kids what size were they in at 12 mo. I know it can vary by each child but I am trying to get an idea anyway! TIA!

Tasha- my boys usually fit in the size that was their age. BUT I will say that brands like Target brand or WalMart brand tend to run small- not as true to size as say Gap, Old Navy or Gymboree. So if anything I would buy a little ig, but PROBABLY the 12-18 month size would be ok...esp a tshirt and shorts- not like it's a romper or onesie.

Thanks, Alice! I figured 18 months would be about right until I talked to my mom! She tends to make me question all my instincts on a weekly basis though, lol! I will probably end up buying the 18 months afterall b/c Kylie is pretty much fitting in the size she should be in too and I have also noticed some of wm's clothes run small! Funny thing though is some of the clothes I bought at Penney's run big! It just depends on the brand, I guess!

Hi everyone, thought I would start reading this thread in preparation of my DD's arrival. I'm adopting a 17 month old girl who only weighs 16 pounds and is 24 inches long. She's very tiny and probably suffered from malnourishment in her first year. She's living in an orphanage right now in so-so conditions (compared to North American standards). Because of her size and lack of developmental opportunities, I pretty much have to start off at "birth" age and work her health and development back up.

I've spent the last year preparing for her arrival, furnishing the nursery, buying baby clothes and toys, reading baby and adoption books. The adoption process had a lot of ups and downs but I can finally see the end in sight and she should be home soon. I look forward to being able to post about sleepless nights and stinky diapers! :goodvibes

Sandy22- congrats!! we look forward to hearing all about your new little one!! and seeing pics too!! :cool1:

WELCOME SANDY!!!!!!!! Can't wait to see pictures of your little one- how thrilling for you! :Pinkbounc

diskim- when are you going to disney? we may be there for a couple of days at the same time.. we are going 18th-24th!!.. make sure to wear some lime green!!

We'll be there 8/23 to 8/31. We will be staying at CSR.

Sandy22 - Congratulations! How exciting :goodvibes

OK, where do you find these Hyland teething tablets. I've never heard of them before. Aidan just chews away at his hand and drools all over the place. I don't think I would use them just yet though. He doesn't seem to be in pain all the time.

DisneyPhd - I'm not going to force the cereal on him. I just knew my doctor would be starting him in two weeks and I wanted him to have a taste of it a little earlier so I'm not shocking him with something new so close to our trip. I try a little every few days or so to see if he is ready. Right now, I don't think he is. BTW, I requested Cabana 9b. I read that building is in between the Pepper Market and the Dig Site. I forgot to request 1st floor - good point. I'm just so excited to stay there!
