DisKim said:I have some catching up to do - my internet was down. I just took Aidan for his checkup (he's 7 weeks). He's over 12 pounds now. The doctor said he gained twice as much as he wanted. I had to remind him that on the last visit, he hadn't gained enough and I was told to supplement with formula. I said, "obviously, I did a good job." The doctor didn't find me humorous. Now, I have to stop feeding him so much. I was also told to put him down awake and let him fuss himself to sleep and to try to cut out the night feedings. It seems so early to let him cry. I don't know if I can do it.
Oh brother; I swear some doctors have short term memory loss. This kinda happened with Molly. She gained 11 ounces in one week cause they told me to supplement, but we was still not where they wanted her to be weightwise- (this was in the first couple of weeks). I was like, um, what to you suggest I do- you do realize she gained 11 ounces in one week, right? They then backtracked and were like, "Oh, we were just looking at her birth weight." They had forgotten she lost 17 ounces and was down to 7# 5 oz. Duh.
Don't sweat it..babies throw up what they don't want or can't fit in their tummies. I think it's awfully early to start the crying it out phase. Maybe when he's fussy, try other things first, like going for a walk, doing the baby bjorn thing while vacuuming (I swear this works like a charm), rocking, etc and see if you can't possibly pacifiy him in another way, but if he keeps crying give him the bottle!

I couldn't believe it! She's shopping five days after major abdominal surgery!! I've never had a c-section but I wouldn't think that someone would feel good enough to go shopping five days after one. It doesn't suprise me though. My friend has boundless energy. She'll probably be on the beach with the baby next week.
Now ya'll can hear me rattle on about my WDW trip in September!

Just wait til you see the new Cherries stuff for babies...it's to die for. I too buy stuff for the next year AND birthday gifts for others. I have, um, 3 Gymbucks and will be getting 2 more today.
BUT, $75 has been on bday gifts for others (like what you mentioned). And some has been boy clothes for DSs.
