Thank you for all the support in my struggles with daycare. I made it thru his first day and he goes again for an hour longer tomorrow. I think I will be ok tomorrow because I'll get to spend the whole afternoon snuggling again. The 1st day it's for real and I go back to work is going to be hard...I'm sure it will be for a while. DisKim: Now your post about it made ME cry. Thank you for sharing your experiences with me (you too Justhat).

Welcome and Congrats Zalansky! Your daughter is adorable (so is your son)!
Tykes: Happy belated 5 month birthday Tyler!
SL: Glad your first day back went well and that Lucas had a good day with Grandma.
Justhat: Oh, your trip is so close!! DH and I always take our annual WDW trip in the fall. If we didn't bring home Jace as a souvenier from our last trip, we would have been there this week. As much as I love WDW, I'm more than happy to skip this year.
DisKim: I don't know how you do it all! I would be totally overwhelmed. I'm glad Aidan is doing so well.

Have a great night everyone!

Tasha-I posted this on another thread but just in case you didn't see it; your baby girl is BEAUTIFUL!

She just looks so huggable & cuddable.

And my DD still will not sleep though the night. I thought we were doing ok when she slept from 9-3am but then she started with her every other hour feedings again. I don't think I could survive w/o coffee & soda pop.

Congratulations and welcome zalansky! Your little girl is beautiful!

DH and I took Jimmy to the Bloomsburg Fair tonight. He was so good. DH carried him in the Bjorn most of the time, but we put him in his stroller before DH ate his bean soup.
Fall has arrived in NE PA and our weather was beautiful today. I love the fall!

I bought Jimmy's Halloween costume at Target on Sunday. I bought him the bumble bee. I was thinking I might make it a little different, though. I grew up with SNL and John Belushi. I thought I could make him a Killer Bee. All I need is a sombrero(sp?) and some of those fake ammo things for across his chest. Too much for his first Halloween? :teeth:

DisKim and joats - I would probably feel as you do if I took Jimmy to a daycare. I am so lucky that my dad watches him. On M, W, and F, my nephew goes to preschool at 12, so it's just Jimmy and my dad for the rest of the day. We're so lucky!

Lissawynn - It's so cute that your dad watches Jimmy. You're so lucky! My MIL used to watch my other son, but my FIL has since had heart problems and I really think she needs to be home with him now. Unfortunately, they live too far away to bring Aidan to their house in the morning. If they lived closer, I'm sure they would be watching him.

I just had to post that Aidan finally rolled over :cheer2: . Of course, he did it the minute I left the room  . My DD was watching him and I didn't believe her until she put him back on his stomach and he did it again.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome, I appreciate it! :flower:

welcome zalansky - great pictures! Adorable kids :)

We are just hanging out at home today. DH had surgery on his hip yesterday so I'm taking care of 2 babies ;) Just kidding, DH is doing pretty well actually and the surgery turned out to be the best case scenario so no compliants there.

Hope everyone is well.

Hi moms! Just wanted to say I'm tired and in need of some quality sleep. I have so much going on at work right now. I feel as if a weekend of sleep would be wonderful.
Hope all you moms are getting more rest than I am and I hope those babies are doing well.

Zalansky - Congratulations and welcome! Your DD was born on my 30th birthday!

Tkyes - Wishing your DH a speedy recovery.

DisKim - Congrats on Aiden rolling over!!

Lissawynn - Hope you get your rest.

No news on our side. Just wanted to check in and say hi!

Lissawyn: You are so lucky to have your dad watching Jimmy.
I think your idea for Jimmy's halloween SNL costume is funny!! Hope you get some sleep soon!
DisKim: Congrats Aidan on rolling over! Way to go!
Tykes: Ouch! Hope your DH is on the mend soon!
SL: Love the new pics of Lucas. When I saw your pics I realized Jace does not have a pair of jeans yet - I better get on that. Lucas looks too cute! He looks like such a happy little boy (even though he's a yankees fan :earboy2: )

Day 3 of daycare. Today one of the teachers realized she knows my mom and worked with her for many years (she saw my mom's name on ER contact sheet). I actually remember this woman from when I was a kid (which she was freaked out about). It made me feel good to sort of know who he would be spending his days with and hoping he'll get a little more cuddle time. So far, no tears today. But, I can't believe next friday I will be at work. Oh man, clock is ticking!!

Have a great day!

I'm back! And I'm POOPED! I could fall down I am so tired.

Overall it was fun. Sam loved it and was a trooper. Molly hung in there and most of the time was a good baby. Joshua however..........my god, that child has an iron will of steel. We had at least one fit a day the first 5 days over the stupidest things- you never know what will throw him and he doesn't roll with the punches like my oldest. My favorite  meltdown- getting to Pecos Bills for lunch and realizing they didn't have chicken strips on the menu (my child is a walking chicken strip)- but they had hot dogs and beans- he likes those. But when I told him that, oh-my-god- the world was over. My dad pulled him out of the line...I sit him down with his food, he takes a bite, and cheerfully says, "Oh! I like this!" I wanted to SMACK him!

Sigh. But anyway, it was Disney and it was fun. SOOOO hot though- locals were saying it usually wasn't quite THAT hot late in Sept....90s every day with high humidity, but it only rained once. We didn't deal with it well- it just doesn't get humid like that in California and Oregon. We went on almost every ride in the MK, saw most of MGM, the highlights of AK & Epcot. The kids loved the Kidcot masks and were disappointed we weren't able to stop in every country. Something to remember for next time.

Speaking of next time, I am NEVER going ANYWHERE like that without DH again! While my parents were great helpers with the kids, I'm uncomfortable for some reason with other people having to discipline the kids in my presence, unless it's DH. So I felt overwhelmed a lot of the time, esp when Josh was being bratty. I just don't know why he's like that- I think he's the type of child where he gets something in his head (I want to go on Buzz Lightyear) and can't handle it when I say, "Well, first we need to go on Jungle Cruise and Country Bears and THEN we'll go on Buzz." But then every single fracking time he would throw a fit over something, I would make him do what I said we were going to do, he would say, "Oh! I like this! Fun!"

The dining plan is wonderful- I would pay out of pocket for it, cause it alleviates so much stress of that feeling like you're constantly pulling your wallet out. We ate quite a bit, and yet I never felt like I overdid it- it's hard to pig out when your sweating so much! And we must have walked about 4-6 miles a day- one day we did AK and Epcot! Ey-yi-yi....

Welcome Zalansky!

Just giving us a bump!

Alice28 - Are you back from your WDW trip? I can't wait to hear about your trip.
I'm trying to convince DH to take a 3 day cruise next year before we go to WDW. He is NOT interested in the cruise. What can I do to get him interested?

Yep, I'm back. Feeling better today- I was just a zombie yesterday; a zombie with a headache to boot.

I don't know how you can convince hubby for a cruise. I'm going to try and talk DH into Disney for 2007. He has told me it is not even up for discussion until we get a trip to Hawaii in....our last 4-5 vacations have been to Disneyland or WDW. But he did sound quite jealous of our trip and wanted ALL the details. We're hoping to stay at WL next time, although Shades of Green is a better deal. But I love the Lodge and it was our honeymoon destination... good memories.

Thanks Alice28 for the welcome....

Lissawynn - have you ordered the DCL cruise DVD? Show that to DH and maybe it will get him interested! https://secure.disney.go.com/dcl/en_US/vpk/landing?name=VPKLandingPage
We have been on 2 Disney cruises, both were 4 nighters, we went once before we had kids and then again with another family when our son was 9 months old. They are so much fun and great if you have kids, of course! I am planning another one for us next Sept. for 7 nights. Good luck with DH :cheer2:

Hope everyone is having a great weekend! :goodvibes

Lisawynn- right now I think I could get my DH to do anything with the promise of lots of hot "private time."

I joked with him about going to the WL if I promised to have lots repeats of honeymoon "fun" and he was like "OK!" even though he has made me PROMISE no more Disney til we go somewhere else first.

Don't ask me how we would accomplish it with 3 kidlets in tow this time. :confused3

Just a thought. :earboy2:

Hi all. Aidan had his 2 month check up Thursday. My "little" man is now 15 lbs
7oz and is 24 inches! :earseek: I still can't believe how big he is! He is such a good baby though. And like his father, he is a huge Red Sox fan! I just have to share this picture!

Bellacam, oh my what a cutie (and as big as Lily almost, that amazes me!) I just love that picture.

Alice28, sounds like your trip was interesting (at least it was WDW!) Your middle sounds like my nephew, Kids! Your sig says DH is home now. Is he? If he is YES!!!!!!! so happy for you. I don't know how you do it. I really don't.

Update on Lily. She is doing good, eating and growing. Still not walking, but getting much closer and is all over the place, man is that girl fast. Anna likes preschool and is holding her own as the only girl in the class (it helps that her "future husband" is in the class too.)

The food allergies are doing pretty well. She has a bit of a runny nose so I am so glad we are still nursing so I can nurse her though this. It has been 2 months dairy free for me. I am getting rather bored with the foods I can eat, but we are rather well adjusted to it. I mostly know the "questionable foods" (those that may or maynot have dairy or eggs in it and to find out). Many resturants and fast food places I know what we can and can't eat so it doesn't take as long. I am getting to be a wiz at cooking around it. I can even make really yummy brownies egg and dairy free (Duncan Hines browine mixes are mostly dairy free until it says so, like the milk chocolate ones.) So we even get treats sometime (I bring them to every pot luck so I have something we can eat.) All in all Lily is doing much better, even sleeping better most nights (not all the way though the night, but much better.) and I have lost over 10 lbs in 2 months. :cheer2: I just hope when I can eat dairy and eggs again I will be able to control myself and not gain 20 back the 1st month!

Welcome, zalansky and Cameryn Mae!

DisKim~ Yay for Aiden rolling over!

tkyes~ Hope your dh is feeling better!

SL~ I love the new pictures of Lucas! I love putting Kylie in jeans too.

Welcome back, Alice! I also noticed your sig...is your dh home?! I hope so!

lissawynn~ Dh had no interest in a cruise either until I ordered the DCL planning video! Now he wants to go more than me! He wants to go by ourselves though and leave the kid(s) w/Nana. I asked him if he would rather go on a non-Disney cruise then and he said no, he's a big kid and wants to do a DCL. This coming from the man that once swore he didn't like characters. Me thinks he was lying! ;)

Bellacam~ Oh my, Aiden is such a cute, BIG little guy!

DisneyPhD~ Glad things are getting easier w/ Lily's food allergies!

Well, dh, Kylie and I went to our childbirth class reunion yesterday. We had a great time. Hey, I even won a prize for giving birth to the biggest baby (9 lbs 7 oz). I knew that would pay off someday, lol! 6 other couples showed up w/their babies. We were only missing 5 couples I think, but we heard from those that were missing and they all had boys. Out of 12 couples only 2 girls were born, that is counting Kylie! 10 boys and only 2 girls, wow! Kylie hit it off w/one of the little boys and his mom and I joked and said maybe they would hook up in college or something. Then later we were talking and discovered we live in the same town and our babies will be going to school together! How ironic! Her baby is 2 weeks younger than Kylie (Kylie was the oldest there born on May 5. The youngest was born June 2.) and just turned 4 months old on the 21st of Sept. but he can already sit up unsupported like a pro! I was impressed! But he can't roll over yet. And Kylie can't sit up unsupported for more than about 10 sec. but she can roll over like a pro. So we had Kylie rolling all over the place and her baby sitting up unsupported looking at everyone! It was funny! There were 5 boys and 2 girls there. The boys were Adam (Kylie's future classmate and boyfriend, lol!), Ben, Brandon (who had more hair than Kylie and has already had his 1st haircut and just turned 4 months on Friday!), James Henry (goes by Jamie), and Jacob (goes by Jake). The girls were Kylie and Paris Grace. I got along really well with Paris's mom so I was happy to see her again. We took several group photos (but I forgot that I wouldn't be in the shots since I was taking pictures! I should have had Scott swap w/me but wasn't thinking!) and I took one of Kylie and Adam together and several others. I will post pics when I get them developed. Everyone wants to get together again in a year! I hope we do. It's neat that we all knew eachother while preg. and then got to see the babies at 4-5 months old and maybe again at 16-17 months old when they are walking and getting into everything! Anyway, we had fun and so did Kylie and I truly hope we get to do it again next year!

Then, we went to Toys 'R' Us to look at carseats since we will have to buy a new one for Kylie soon since she is almost too big for her infant seat. While we were there I saw some exersaucers and I put Kylie in one just to see if she could sit in it well. OMG! She fell in love with that thing! I could barely get her out of it! She sat there playing and squealing and drew a crowd to watch her! I felt bad that I didn't have the $100 to buy it this time. I am going back and getting it on payday if I have the money! Then, dh showed her a stuffed animal and she just started laughing! She has laughed before but not very long and mostly in her sleep so it was hilarious to hear that! Ever since that moment she has laughed several times. I guess something clicked after she laughed and now she is aware she can do it or something!

I can't believe Kylie will be 5 months on Wed! OMG, where has the time gone?!

Anyway, hope all of you and your babies are well! Enjoy the remainder of your weekend! :wave2:

ETA: Remember when I thought Kylie was getting a tooth up top? I saw something white and it looked like a tooth about to break through. Well, it is gone! She doesn't have any teeth or any teeth breaking through or anything now. It really looked like a tooth at the time! Maybe it was a mouth ulcer or something? :confused3 Weird...

Bellacam-
that picture is GREAT. His face is just adorable! Thanks for sharing it...

Tasha-
That was very cool that your class met up again, and I agree it would be neat if everyone did it again annually to see how the kids grow and change. I can't believe Kylie is 5 months either, I remember on the OMTB thread when you had her and it seems like just a few weeks back.

I think I need to redo my countdown- I mean it to say that that is how long til DH is home....I redid it hoping he will come home on our anniversary, Jan 14th. :flower: So, no, he's not home yet. In fact, say a few extra prayers cause he has to go out on extra patrols in the the villages with the upcoming elections. :sad2:

Tasha, the exersaucers are great, aren't they? I think maybe you should check out a baby consignment shop- I bet you could get a good deal on one. I have an extra one that I wish I could get rid of...I'm thinking of taking it to my mom's house so Molly has something to jump around in down there (MIL bought Molly a Jumperoo, and the exersaucer was Joshie's). And how cool that she was laughing- Molly has laughed a few times...but she grins all the time!

I am still in my PJs. I'm just tired and maybe a little jet-lagged? Or maybe just depressed. Kind of the post-vacation blahs. I've been tidying the house, catching up on laundry, etc. I didn't feel like going to church this morning for a variety of reasons. One of which is (I'll try and make this short) there is another gal at my church whose husband is in Afghanistan. She hasn't dealt with it well; she knows a lot of people at church (it's a pretty big church- 1,000 people or so) and she gets a lot of attention from it. I don't know a lot of people- those who do know have been very sympathetic and have really helped with prayers and gifts last Christmas and when the baby was born. Anyway, I guess it just bugs me that everyone feels so sorry for her and she's handling it very poorly- her children are having problems, etc...she has asked me how I have handled it so well & I have said, "I just do it. Why grumble about it? Why whine and complain all the time? God has given us grace and the ability to put our trust and faith in him and that's what I choose to do. I have to stay strong so my kids are healthy too." On the outside this woman "appears" that she has it all together, but she really doesn't and I'm sick of her boo-hooing. Suck it up. Her kids are older than mine too- both in grade school, her husband makes a lot of $$ cause he's a Major AND he's in Afghanistan.....I would much rather DH be in Afghanistan than Iraq these days....long story short, she bugs me cause I feel she doesn't have as much to deal with and yet it's all DRAMA for her and here I am just plugging through with a smile most of the time and don't get the "strokes" from others....yeah, I know, wah.

Anyway, enough grumbling from me. I am going to treat myself to a floor cleaner this week- our entire downstairs is Pergo and the Swiffer ain't cutting it....I need one of those scrubber machines. I have some extra money (imagine that- after Disney World and everything) and am going to get it tomorrow. I also am going to do some early Christmas shopping- Costco has the ENTIRE Dora house and ALL accessories- for some reason my 4 year old thinks Dora is AWESOME and wants that....It's $106, about what I would spend on him, so I told him, if that's what you want, that's it....he seemed a-ok with that. I know that was a hard item to find last year, so I want to go back and get it this week while he's at preschool...but where to hide it? I think I will have to get a JUMBO roll of gift wrap while I am at Costco and wrap it immediately and hide it in the basement somewhere.

Take care all!
