Becka: She is so adorable! Especially in that little sundress! I hope one day I have a little girl to dress up! :goodvibes

becka Your daughter is so cute! I have to post some new photos of Jimmy! I can't believe it's already been three months!

becka,

Great pictures!

Ladies, I have a TMI question. I'm 2 weeks postpartum and still bleeding which I know is perfectly normal but how normal are clots? All of the literature that they gave me at the hospital says you shouldn't pass any clots after the 4th or 5th day. The nurse at my Dr.'s office said it is normal (last week when I called her.) Should I still consider it normal at 2 weeks out?

Thanks for any advice.

I swore I would never spend much energy dressing up any daughter that I might have but now that I have one I just can't help myself. :rolleyes1 It is like some kind of disease and I can't resist dressing her up and accessorizing.

floridafam - I had that problem for the first 3 weeks. I was a little concerned because as you say all the literature makes it sound like that should not be happening but my doctors office never seemed concerned. I had bleeding for a little over 4 weeks which seemed like a long time to me. It was over much sooner when I had DS...I don't know why. :confused3

I had clot problems with my second (and I was bleeding red for a least 4 weeks or longer.) I know part of it was I just wasn't taking it easy, but when you have more children then just the baby taking it easy is almost unheard of. I had a clot that was the size of a lemon in the hospital, and they didn't seem too concerned about it at all. (I was rather unnerved! :earseek: ) That and the crampping when I nursed was terrible. It hurt all the way to my thighs. I hear that is normal for your 2nd and gets worse with every child.

Wow Kona is 2 weeks old now, it goes so fast!

I can't belive Lily is taking her 2nd trip to WDW at the end of this week! :cheer2: I hope she gets to wear all the cute summer outfits that it was too cold for in March! BTW, all the snow around here is melted already, almost like it never happened.

I had a clot in the hospital with my 3rd son that was bigger than a lemon. :earseek: With my last son though my bleeding was never heavier than the first couple days of a period. I did bleed for weeks afterward. It would be almost gone and then would start back up bright red again. I was probably doing too much. It's hard to take it easy with 4 kids, especially when you feel so great. I did have HORRIBLE cramping this time. It has gotten worse and worse...this time around they were giving me more serious pain meds for the cramping than just mortrin. I give birth without pain meds, but can't handle the cramping afterwards. :confused3 :rotfl: Now Kaleb is 3 1/2 months old and I still haven't had a period. :cheer2: Yay! I went like 6 months with my last son. :wizard:

So we got a puppy Saturday. She is a lab/cur. Our neighbor brought home 4 puppies from a friend who was going to bring them to the pound. DH couldn't resist, they were sooooooooo cute. So he brought one home and so far she seems like she is going to be a good dog. We have a 1 year old boxer and while she is very obedient and great with the kids, she is about as worthless as they come. We can't let her play outside of the fence unless DH or I are watching her every move because she takes off(so she can't be with the boys) and she doesn't even bark when a stranger comes in the yard. :confused3 So hopefully the new puppy will be better. She already comes running around the side of the house barking when she hears the side door open or the fence. We named her Chloe the boxers name is Sadie. :flower:

Jimmy will be making his first official trip to WDW in August! I rented my points yesterday, so my DS and I will be taking our boys (both of whom are named James) on their first WDW trip together! I'm so excited! We can even make our 90 PSs next week!

Today is my 30th b-day. My friends at school have decorated my room in black crepe paper and black balloons. I've received some lovely gifts, such as an old lady housecoat from K-Mart. Also, many of my fellow faculty members have dressed in black to mourn the passing of my 20s. I love it here!

Happy Belated Birthday Lissawynn!!! I will be turning 30 myself in September. :)

Allie seems to be feeling better after dealing with a cold these past couple of days. I just hated hearing her cough. I know she was not sleeping as well because of it and it was making her cranky. Plus I had to use the dreaded "snotter" on her little nose and that just causes her to go into hysterics. :(

Allie has been "talking" so much these last few days. She loves to hear her own voice and it is so precious. I love when babies coo and babble at you. :) She was so happy and just talked up a storm for about 10 minutes yesterday afternoon when she saw me after daycare. I was in heaven. :cloud9:

I poked into the Moms to Be thread and it looks like we will have several ladies who will be graduating to this thread soon. If any of you are lurking on this thread...good luck! We will be waiting for you on "the other side"! :teeth: :wave2:

Hey ladies,

I am officially going to join this thread and hopefully post more often than I have in the past.

I just seem to always have something that needs to be done, or someone that needs something done, or a nap calling my name! :teeth:

Congrats to all the new mommies and thanks for sharing pictures of your cutie pies.

I recently updated our website with new photos taken when Hannah was 4 days old. Please check it out.

Welcome and congradluations!!!!!! She is a cutie, you must be very proud!!!! :grouphug:

I can't believe that there aren't more moms out there. :confused3 Seems there were people joining "The official moms to be thread" alllllllllllllllll the time. We just can't seem to get anyone. :sad2: Nothing new here. Tomorrow night DH and I are going to Wayfest Extreme. Its a huge christian concert featuring, Toby Mac, Audio Adrenaline, Kutless and someone else...it will be so much fun. We won't be getting home until really late and its a work night so my mom is taking all the kids overnight. It will be my first night away from Kaleb. :sad2: I have never left one of my babies so young, but he is the first one that I wasn't solely bfing. Hopefully I don't miss him too much so I can have a good time. Last time Toby Mac(one of my favs) came here I was huge preg. with Kaleb and was pretty miserable the whole time since we had floor "seats" which meant we were front and center....no seats though. :confused3 This time it will be great!

I know what you mean. By the time I found the offical mom to be thread, I had given birth. Now Lily is almost 9 months old, so you do the math!!!!!!! :cool1:

I even started one like this a few months before this one was started, it died after a page or too. At least we are able to keep this one up and running.

Ok mommies here is my update. (if you read my other thread you know.) Lily got sick last night, vomiting for around a hour. She did sleep at night (as much as she always does) and nursed and kept it down. Now she seem pretty good and is doing well so I can get excitd about her second trip to WDW in her short almost 9 months!!!!! (her 1st to Vero Beach, at least outside of me.) I was so worried. God I hope we are out of the storm now. I was so worried last night. Now I can breath again.

I just found her sister's old summer cothes in her size, they are so cute. I love second chance cothes. All things she really needed too (more onzies, socks, little sandles, fuzzy slippers etc...) :cheer2:

I had my 6 week post partum check up last Friday...all is well. I lost all the pregnancy weight! :cheer2: (I only gained 22 pounds)...Now for that 30 that I haven't been able to lose since I had my first child 7 1/2 years ago.... :rolleyes1 :scratchin I still can't fit into some of my old pants, but that will come I am sure. Others fit great. I don't get it. :confused3

I got something from FedEx today that has DO NOT OPEN UNTIL MOTHER'S DAY written all over it. DH told me to expect something from Fedex, so I guess this is it. But it's literally about 5' by 4', maybe 8 inches deep. I think it's a framed portrait or piece of art. Hmmm....I guess I should be good and not open it.

My DS3 has had SUCCESS- he is FINALLY pooping on the potty! He's almost 4 folks! The time has come! My first DS was the same way, but once the light bulb went on, there was never an accident, rarely a bedwetting, etc. Goodbye pull-ups! It's weird buying the size 1 diapers again- they look so teeny compared to the monstro 3T-4T Pull ups.

My Gymboree spending spree came the other day in the mail- easier to order online than take older DS's to that store (gee, they just love it, can you imagine?). Gosh their stuff is to die for...I know I'm repeating myself, but it's so fun shopping for a girl! I got a onesie yesterday at Old Navy that says, "mommy's Little Cupcake" & it has a cupcake on it. So sweet! And she IS sweet- really easy baby. I feel very blessed with my kiddoes.

Here's a link to pics I took of our kids with their daddy when he was home...

Hope it works!

Hey wait a minute....you mean you don't think we are enough? j/k ;) Actually like I posted I think we may be ready for a membership drive real soon. :teeth: Should we tell them the truth about mommyhood or should we leave them to their delusions for a little while longer? :teeth: ;)

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: YAY for you and your son!!!! Boy do I know what you mean about pooping on the potty. DS does really well with the pee but he is afraid to poop on the potty. I am thinking about trying bribery in the next few weeks because I think if he can just do it once then he will be fine.

I SO know what you mean. I am going to go broke if I keep buying clothes for Allie but girls clothes are just so much cuter than boys clothes. I mean really would you rather buy a shirt with a cupcake on it or a shirt with frogs on it? No contest, huh? princess:

Hey now, I like all of BR's dinosaur outfits! :rotfl:

We're hanging in there - DH left for his first deployment since BR's birth on Monday. :( Robin, I don't know how you can last a year. These have been the longest couple of days! Luckily next week I'm heading to my parents for 6 weeks. Me, BR and two cats on an airplane - should be fun!

Uh yeah....can you say we resorted to slight bribery??? He now has a cobalt blue GameBoy in his hot little hands....my older son didn't get one til he was 7, but the times were desperate....this bribe was laid on the table in January, but he just didn't want to do it til now.

You know, when Sam was a baby, (1997/8) I spent a MINT at babyGap on boy clothes...they USED to have the most darling stuff, but it just isn't as baby cute anymore...it's more like their boy stuff shrunk down for babies. And some of the boy stuff I saw at Old Navy (infant section) was darn cute too. But I certainly feel my come-uppence after having two boys to go hog wild on the girl stuff. That, and she's our last, so if I see something I can't resist, I'm buying it da**it! :p Not doing this baby thing anymore after Molly, so I might as well milk it.

Oops----my last post didn't quite work out---I replied to the potty training thing, but it's in Becka's quote...

you know, I'm not sure how I do it either!? :confused3

I was just emailing DH that when I think about how long it will be til I see him again, I get quite blue...then I just don't want to think about it, so I really don't. It's too hard to comprehend. I said to him, "Just call me an ostrich." He agreed that it's too hard to think about right now so we keep busy with other things. It's not so much that I miss him sooo much, because we have been apart before (for 9 months in 1991 when we were dating and he was in Japan, and we lived in separate states while we were engaged)...but it's this HUGE chunk of the kids lives that he's missing and that's what's so sad. That, and it is very hard to be the only hands on parent 24/7, for months on end. Luckily my parents are moving up permanently in August, so they will help out with the kids I am sure.

Were you all able to see the pics in the link I posted?

Robin
