I'm jealous. :earboy2:

Sadly so am I!

I also love Jace's new photos! He's so cute and he's growing so much!!

Hey everyone! Kylie turned 3 months on Friday! I can't believe how fast time is going and how much she is growing and changing! She is trying really hard to sit up now but of course is still way too young to actually do it yet. She gets mad now when we put her in her bouncer b/c it isn't sitting straight up like she wants it to. She likes her swing now b/c we have it in the upright position so she can feel like she's sitting up like a big girl. Funny how she went from hating the swing to liking it and from loving her bouncer to tolerating it occasionally all in the course of a week!

joats~ I love the new pics of Jace too! And Kylie slept in the bassinet beside our bed until she was 11 weeks old. But she moves so much constantly that the bassinet was not allowing her enough room to move around. So we put her in her crib in her room w/the door shut (to keep our 4 cats out!) at 11 weeks. We keep the monitor on and she has had no trouble making the transition. We lay her in her crib one way and she's turned the other way when she wakes up! That child moves a lot!

OOOHHHHH I am so jealous too! I haven't had a much time to get on these boards, but I love reading about all your babies! Mine is a fussy little man. We have tried exclusive breast feeding, (which makes him more fussy), switching to soy formula, and now he is on tagamet. I can't believe I gave him an ulcer already! ;) (That is the medicine my grandfather used for ulcers, so that is my only experience with it) I am encouraged by all your stories that sleeping through the night may be just around the corner. But, until then, I am one cranky pants myself. We have a two bedroom house, so my daughter is in her own room, (since the day she came home from the hospital, with the occasional visit to mommy daddy's bed, okay, so more than occasionally, but that is since she can walk in when she wants to! :rolleyes1 ) The baby has his crib in our room, but he is still up every couple of hours, UGH! Hopefully he will turn soon... but, I must go now, he is actually asleep in his carseat, and my daughter is at camp until 1, so I am going to try to get an hour or two of sleep!

All your babies are so beautiful. I am glad I got a chance to quickly visit with you all again!

Patsfan7 your situation sounds a bit like mine. DD #1 always slept in her own bed and room with no problems, but my 2nd child we didn't have that luxury. She wasn't a fussy child at all, except at night. She hasn't slept well during the night, and she is (was excuslivly breast feed.) When people told me to give her formula I really don't like it (smell, taste, spit up, dipears ect..) So I didn't. It wasn't until she started on solids that we learned she is allergic to cows milk and eggs. About 30% of milk protien passes through breast milk so cutting down on milk is important, but you don't need to cut it all out (baked goods, trace amounts.) Last night we had a pot luck and everyone brough chessey things, I couldn't stop myself. I will have to pay for it later. I think I will giver her benedryl if she is fussy. However I don't drink milk or have that much to start with since I am lactose intoleratant, I just can't live with out cheese.

Good luck, don't give up the breast feeding, my Dr. said it was the beast thing I could of done for her. It is easier to control their limited diet instead of yours those, but it is temparary. However she still isn't sleeping well, over a year of no sleep is cachting up with me.

Good luck and glad you were able to "stop by."

Joats and SL -- I love the new pictures of the boys. I need to post Lily's one month.

T&S, I took you suggestion and went to Wal mart. It was like 6.00 or something. However, that was only for one pose and of course I wanted all of them so I ended up purchasing the magnet CD too. It came to a total of 20 bucks. I'm going to save the fancier pictures for her 3,6,9 & 12 shots.

I have been back at work the last few days. We started all the back to school meetings. The first day leaving Lily with someone else was hard. This morning I was pushing her out the door. She actually goes to her formal day care starting on the 22nd. That's gonna hurt. Right now, its been friends and family watching her.

THe BF is still not working out as well as I had hoped. I pump about every 3 hours when she's not around and I only get 2-3 oz of milk each time. She's eating 5-6 oz of formula at a shot when she gets a bottle. I think its going to be that she gets bf in the morning when we wake up, one bottle during the day and again before bed. I think I need the bonding time  . Miss Lily would rather hang out with Daddy.

I'll be able to pump 2x a day at work, I just don't know exactly when those 2 times are yet.

I hope everyon is well. I feel like I've been gone forever. Work and Lily combined has really been kicking my butt! I just want to sleep at 7 oclock once Mike shows up. I am so tired. On a good note though, Lily will sit in her swing now for about 1/2 hour, sometimes longer if the ceiling fan is on.

If they're giving Tagamet, do they think it might be reflux or too much acid making the baby fussy? I went through that with #2 DD - she had very severe reflux. Hope all gets better soon.

My oldest is 5 and I still lose control when we get pictures taken. I have so many more than I'll ever need but I won't part with them either!

Tasha - Happy 3 month birthday to Kylie! :cake:

GWcollins - I'll be back at work soon too. Our school starts 9/7. We go in on 9/6 for meetings. I have to go in on Thursday to plan a block schedule with my supervisor. I'm the lucky one who gets to pilot the program for the school to see if it works.

Well, Aidan finally did it - he slept through the night :jumping1: . For the past 2 nights, he goes down around 8 pm and wakes up at 5 am for a feeding. Then, he goes back down until 8 am. He hardly sleeps during the day though. He is actually sleeping right now. We were out all day and he's exhausted. I expect he won't sleep well tonight. I hope he keeps up the nice sleeping schedule. Two weeks from today we'll be in Disney. I don't want him to wake up my other kids during the night.

Happy Belated 3 month birthday Kylie! Wow, time goes by so fast!

Way to go Aidan!! That's wonderful news DisKim! I am so jealous of your upcoming WDW trip!! :)

All this talk about going back to work makes me get nervous about the end of my maternity leave. I still have some time left, but the weeks are just flying by and I know I am going to have a very difficult time with the whole day care situation. I'm hoping to hear positive experiences from those of you who are teachers/in school system in the next few weeks. I hope the transition goes smoothly for you all.

SL - love the new pics of Lucas...what a cutie!

I'm back! Home sweet home! Overall it was a nice trip, although I will never recommend flying by yourself with three kids to anyone. My middle has a bruise on his arm from me grabbing him so tightly when he wasn't listening to me on the airplane...sighhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.... :headache: :sad2:

I can't wait to sleep in my own bed tonight. Have mega grocery shopping to do tomorrow though....an unpacking. Oh well.

Hope you all are doing great!

Argh! Another bad night for us. It was preceded by a bad day, too. Lucas has been so gassy and fussy. I'm wondering if it was something I ate that got passed to him in the breastmilk. Last night he slept from 11-2 and then was up for an hour, asleep for an hour, up for an hour, asleep for an hour, etc. The poor thing is driving me crazy! I even took him over to my parents' yesterday hoping different scenery and different faces would help him. NOPE. :guilty:

BFing isn't going well anyway and I almost made it to my 2 month goal so I think we're going to start phasing it out. I never had that great a supply anyway and had to supplement since day 3 so at least the transition will be easy for him. Can't say I didn't try.

That's great that Aidan has been sleeping so well, DisKim. It will really make your trip easier if he keeps it up. Madison was more or less sleeping through the night on her first 2 trips to WDW and I felt so well rested and ready to hit the parks each day. Now, however, I can hardly drag myself out of bed int he morning. Oh well, things are improving, just very slowly!

Welcome back Alice28! Glad you had a good trip, and congrats on surviving a flight with 3 kids alone! 1 is hard enough, with all her baggage and gear that we need in the destination that I can't imagine having 2 more with me, plus all their stuff (though less than a baby I imagine). So good job!

SL-don't worry, Lucas will get better with his sleeping. If you really think it's the breastmilk and want to wean him, I'm sure he'll transition fine. Is he okay with the formula you supplement with? If he seems fussy either way, maybe a different formula would help? I don't know much about that stuff though, just from my friends and relatives, but one has a little boy who is very, very fussy when he's on a regular formula but does great when he's on low-iron. So maybe if there's no improvement you can look into something like that.

Well Monday night we had people over and a friend bought this chesse dip. I could not make myself stop eating it. (I didn't have TONS but more then I should of with a baby with a dairy allergy.) Well yesterday afternoon after I nursed her I noticed she had dairy rash face and she started spitting up some after eating. After I nursed her to fall alseep at 9:00 or so I made the decession that hubby would give her a bottle with soy milk in it. (I know she will drink that, not sure about soy formula at this point.) Well at midnight when she woke again she didn't want anything to do with it at 1st (It has been 4 months since she has had a bottle and she never took them well to start with.) but she did take it and fell back alseep. She sleep until 5:30 am ! That is a record. I also slept until 5:00. It was lovey. Grand Ma had big sister so it was a nice night around here. Hubby gave her another soy milk bottle at 5:30 but I did nurse her again at 8:00 am ( I was going to pump and dump but she seems ok with it.)

So I think the dairy in my diet is bothering her at night. I am considering trying soy foluma bottle right before bed (or even just soy milk, she is 1 year old now after all.) At least 24 hours after I had too some dairy. This way I can at least have it sometimes.
Strawberry Lemonade, I am sorry bf isn't going too well. You can phase it out, but still hang on to one or too feedings a day and that can really help you get them through any sick or ill times. (or teething.) Once it is gone it is gone and you can't get it back though.

Alice 28 - Welcome back!

Well, I spoke too soon. Aidan was up twice last night  . I knew I shouldn't have said anything. He is so fussy today. I think his big sister is spoiling him. He doesn't want to be put down now. He used to nap in his swing. Now, he screams until she picks him up and rocks him to sleep. Oh well, she'll be in school all day soon enough so I'm letting them enjoy each other. I feel sorry for his babysitter. She'll have a hard time getting him to nap.

Hi all! Love the new pictures - Jace and Lucas are adorable!!

Well, Tyler slept 10 hours last weekend, of course it was at Grandma's house, not here!

He slept for 6 hours last night then I was able to give him his nuk and get him to sleep 2 more until I fed him at 5 am. I think next week when DH is home we might try letting him cry it out if he wakes up in the middle of the night. He obviously doesn't need the middlle of the night feeding. Cross your fingers for us!

He's moving all over the crib too. He even set his angelcare monitor alarm off because he was all the way to the edge of the crib, off the sensor pad. Scared me half to death!!!

Alice28: You amaze me. I can't imagine you, the kids and all that stuff for a vacation. Glad you are back - hope you had a nice trip.

SL: Sorry to hear about Lucas' bad night/day. You must be totally exhausted!! As far as BFing - do whatever you think is right for you and Lucas.

DisKim: Isn't always the way? As soon as you say things are going well, they change it up on you. I'm hoping that last night was just a fluke and he'll be back sleeping well.

Tykes: What is an angelcare monitor? I've never heard of that.

Another question for all of you: How often are you/did you give your baby a bath during the first 3-4 months? Our Dr. says only to do it 1-2 a week. I have friends that give their babies one every night before bed. Just curious.

Thanks and have a good night everyone!

An angelcare monitor is a baby monitor that has a sensor pad that goes underneath the babies mattress. It senses movement, as sensitive as a breath. So, if there is no movement for 20 seconds an alarm goes off. Needless to say, last night my heart was pounding when the alarm went off! If he starts squirming too much at night and continues to set the alarm off, we'll have to turn the monitor off (or at least the sensor pad portion).

Baths - I think I gave Tyler a sponge bath for a month or so, every other day. Now he gets a regular bath every other day. We do it during the day since I'm home and it's easy for me to do it.

Guess what? Tyler rolled over tonight! From his back to his belly :) very exciting stuff!!

have a good night all!

tamie

Our trip was fun- saw lotsa family, friends...was able to get over to the beach and the kids went on the rides and stuff (and me too while grandparents held Molly). They still have a Boardwalk on the beach with amusement rides, junk food, etc...it was so fun. Filled me with a lot of memories as that was a big teen/college hangout for me. Also went to a mall that I always liked but has gone MEGA upscale (I went to San Jose, CA---kind of a rich area now, although it sure wasn't like that when I was young). Anyway, they had this store called Janie and Jack that it a subsidiary of Gymboree, but it's even MORE expensive and upscale! My mom bought Molly a $13 onesie- and that was on clearance! Eek....but of course I was drooling over everything. They are putting one in a mall up here...I'm not sure that is a good thing. ;)

We are GLAD to be home though. Molly wasn't too hot on traveling...not a good sign for our WDW trip next month. But ladies- SHE SLEPT FOR ALMOST 10 HOURS LAST NIGHT! I could NOT believe it when I woke up this AM. I feel like a new person! I guess she was tuckered out! AND she turned 5 months on Monday- our babies are growing so quickly!

I gave Madison a bath about 3-4 times a week when she was younger. Now if we go outside then it's everyday, but if it's rainy and we stay in then every other day. She has ezcema on her elbows (found that around 6 months) so her dr said to avoid daily baths if possible so we do. It has cleared up with aquaphor and lotioning after baths, but I don't want it coming back so we try to do 3-4 a week instead of everyday. Like I said though, if she plays outside, gets sweaty, and wears sunblock, then it's everyday.

Alice28, we have Janie and Jack here and I love it too! Madison had tons of stuff there when she was an infant but I've shopped there a lot less in the past 6-8 months. I still like their clothes, but now that Madison is more active and more prone to getting things dirty we don't shop there as much because I think most of their stuff is 'too nice'. We do still check out their sales and clearances to pick up some cute stuff though!

Welcome back, Robin! I enjoyed your city while you were away. :) We went to the restuarant you recommended and it was good!

Russ gets a bath every night, but mainly because he loves water and is a creature of routine. Since we started daily baths, the three times he hasn't had one, he didn't sleep well. Bath=bedtime for him!

Russ got up on his knees today! Luckily he has no clue what to do with his arms so I don't have to worry about crawling quite yet!
