Lisawynn,
I just said a prayer for your friend that all went well for her. Her Mil sounds like a piece of work! Jimmy's new pic is very cute :) .

Wonderbelle,
I'm sorry I can't help you with your question as I never had an amnio. I have heard from others that isn't all that bad though. I'm so sorry your dr. was such a jerk. I'll be praying for you and your little one.

Diskim,
It sounds like you have made a good decision. 8 kids is way too many, imo. 5 is my personal limit and even then I don't like to have more than 2 of them under 3. I would give her two weeks notice that you will be switching sitters.

Jill,
Glad to hear JP got his shot but that silent scream always breaks my heart too :guilty: . I love the pics in the bumbo. He is getting so big :) .

Hi to all the other moms out there  !

Tomorrow is a big day of sorts around my house ;) . DH is going for his post vas. testing. He already went for one and they found his sample was still "active". I am so nervous that this whole thing is going to be for nothing and that the vas. didn't take after all he went through. I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed it goes well.

Can everyone please stop posting for just 1 day so I can catch up? This thread is really flying lately!!! ;) ;) ;)

I don't have time to catch up with everyone's posts from today. I just wanted to pop in before dinner is ready to share some fun things I saw on MSN.

I'm guessing Jennifer :) .

Hi ladies-

I'm so tired! I slept like crud last night and today I've been busy shampooing carpets, cleaning up the yard, etc. My parents came over to help me. Plus I got a headache while talking on the phone with my MIL. Imagine that. She didn't breathe a word of the car issue. Thank god. She was grilling me though about details about Bob and I'm like I DON'T KNOW....I am going to a briefing on Saturday and I will call you afterwards with the details. So she says this, "I'll just call you daily to get the scoop." Did she not hear what I JUST SAID?? She drives me crazy. And I thought it was only children who had selective hearing. ;)

I DID get a lovely bouquet of roses and asters today from my DH. There's rumors we MAY not get to see them when they arrive at Ft Lewis next weds. :guilty: But he definitely is getting a 48 hour pass next weekend so he can come home, or we can go up there. Then he should be done with the Washington stuff by the next Weds (the 18th or so). I think I told you guys that our wedding anniversary is next Saturday, so I will have to think of something special to do.

Anyway, I'm just exhausted and I want someone else to cook me dinner and give me a neck message. I want someone in my immediate family to be a chiropractor. And a masseuse. :teeth:

lissawynn- I am really praying your friend is doing OK. Her MIL sounds like a total b**ch.

jill- did you mention how JP's shot went and I just glossed over it?

diskim- you TOTALLY did the right thing by switching sitters. I agree 100% with you and DON'T feel guilty. This is your son we're talking about, you know? Who cares what she thinks, she doesn't sound very professional.

I was going to respond to more, but I'm sorry gals....I'm just feeling very weary! this last week or so is very draining! I'm just so glad we can all be here for each other. :grouphug:

Tamie------I think it was you who I sent the Flash! postcard to---I got mine back today. Thanks! Now I have two free portraits for next time, and 10% off. I think Daddy needs to go in there with his kidlets and get some pictures done. :teeth:

Dinner wasn't ready, so I'm back for a few minutes.

I'm guessing Jennifer
You are correct! How did you ever guess? :teeth:

Here is the other thing that I had wanted to post. It is an article about how to decide when to have another baby.
Link

Dinner is ready now.

Hi J&D - Thanks for posting that baby name list! It does look like a few DIS babies made the list. :goodvibes Enjoy dinner! :sunny:

Alice - Wow, your MIL sure likes to give you headaches. Sorry to hear that! What a sweetie of a husband you have for sending you flowers! Not too much longer and you will see him! Yea!!! I had to laugh about the masseuse and chiropracter comment. I just got back from getting my haircut and I was telling my hairdresser about how I need an "in" with someone who does massages. I love them but it has been years since I've had one b/c they are just too darn expensive. JP's shot went well. I mentioned it in another post, but no worry about missing it b/c I tend to blab in my posts so it is easy to miss. :rotfl:

Valerie - :earseek: :earseek: Your poor DH! I hope that his vas. did take especially after all he went through. Yikes!

DisKim - You have made the right decision about moving Aiden to your other sitter. You've got the best reason too, so hopefully your sitter will understand. Maybe you could give her 2 weeks to a month notice so she can try to fill Aiden's slot? When my oldest was in daycare I think I was more nervous telling them that she wouldn't be going there than I was about quitting my job. Good luck to you!

Lisawynn - Thanks for keeping us updated on your friend!

Gems - John Paul doesn't hold his head up yet. It was the bumbo seat that seemed to stabilize his head for a bit. I should post the picture of him slumping over in it. Poor baby! Have fun selling stuff on e-bay! I hope you make a lot for your vacation in April! :wizard:

SL - That is a bummer that you couldn't find a jacket for Lucas. :guilty: Do you think there might be anything you could get on-line? Sometimes it is hard to do that with trying to find the right size though. I had a terrible time finding some warm "jacket" for John Paul. He currently wears something that is for 9 month old babies and he swims in it.

I really do love the bumbo seat. I had never heard of them before and I got one for my baby shower. I stuck it in JP's closet and then learned how wonderful they were from all of the great ladies on this thread. There are so many new baby items out now that were not available when I had my dd 7 years ago. It is amazing.

Nucpharm - Aaaahhh...isn't Gymboree addictive? I tell you if John Paul was a girl then I would be in BIG trouble! :rotfl: :rotfl: I've managed to resist the boy clothes for now, but those girl clothes are waaaay too cute! I think my DH is excited about our 3rd being a boy b/c he is afraid I would put us in the poor house if we had a girl.

Bellacam - Good luck ttc. What you have gone through is tough. I hope it all goes well for you! :wizard:

Well ladies, I just got back in from getting my hair cut short. :teeth: It was so nice to go out on my own for a bit! Thanks for the compliments on John Paul. He is getting big! The funny thing is that my neighbor had a baby last week. The poor thing was a week overdue and was in labor for 28 hours. :earseek: Her dd was 8 lbs. 15 oz. John Paul is 10 weeks old today and he is 8 lbs. 14 oz. The babies are the same size and they are 9 weeks apart in age. :)

Have a great evening everyone! I'm off to bed now. :wave2:

Hi ladies! I have GREAT news about my friend Jennifer! She and the baby are FINE. It turns out her cyst is just a fibroid (sp?). They didn't remove anything. They are going to monitor her and the baby until her due date. The drs told her DH they had to go in to see what it was. She may be coming home tomorrow!

Thank you for all your prayers and well-wishes!

/
Lisawynn - Yea for your friend! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: That is wonderful news! :sunny:

lissawynn - GREAT NEWS! That was the same thing my sister had way back when, a fibroid. What a relief. And I too, love the new pic of Jimmy in your sig.

Jill - I can't believe how much John Paul has grown and changed! He looks so big sitting in his bumbo seat. Such a handsome little dude...you have to post a pic of your new haircut!

diskim - I agree that you made the right decision too. No need for excuses...I think 2 weeks notice is good also. It will be much better having the boys in the same place too.

Bellacam - good luck trying! Sending pixie dust your way.... :wizard:

nucpharm - you made out great at Gymboree! Be careful, as you know it can be addictive! I have Gymbucks myself too I need to use next week and neither of my kids needs another stitch of clothing. Really.

Alice28 - It is so great that you sell on Ebay and I know we've talked before about this....would you mind pm-ing me your Ebay ID and if I look at your auctions? I have a ton of stuff I want to sell and we even bought one of those online Ebay instruction kits but there is so much info in it, it is overwhelming. I have lots of Gymboree clothing from Connor and already things Cameryn has grown out of that I think will sell for sure. And like we've already mentioned several times....GYMBUCKS redemption next week! ACK! Anyway, now that I will be home, I will have free time to dedicate to selling these things on Ebay. Any advice would be appreciated.

vald1977 - I will keep my fingers crossed that the vas worked. That would not be good at all if it didn't!

wonderbelle - I didn't have the amnio either so I can't help you out but will send prayers your way that everything turns out okay. :grouphug:

hillbeans - I am happy your transition back to work has gone so smooth. The fact you work a 4 day workweek is great. Even if I could do that and free up that extra day I'd consider it. But my company doesn't allow that anymore, they used to.

I actually am considering getting as very part time job that I could at the Disney call center in Tampa just to get the free passes and restaurant discounts. Oh, and hotel and cruise deals too. Someone told me they had let her work 16 hours a week last year ago and she got all those benefits. But that is months out, i just want to stop working and chill for a while. I am going to join Shapes, a gym (chain) in Tampa. They have free childcare for up to 2 hours while I work out and sit in the hot tub. I am so there.
I also woke up with a sinus headache which feels like its turning into an infection....so I am off to bed. Thank goodness tomorrow is Friday.

have a goodnight everyone. :wave2:

I would have guessed the same thing. My name is Jennifer also. It was the number 1 name when I was born too. :teeth: I think Lucas was number 40 on that list.

lissawynn - Glad to hear about your friend Jennifer. :flower: What a relief that must be for all of you.

llij - Isn't cutting your hair liberating? You'll have to post a pic!

Alice28 - How sweet that your DH sent you flowers! Happy early anniversary.

DisKim - Good for you for switching sitters. You have to do what's best for your kids. That's great that your old sitter had an opening.

T16GEM - Sending PD to your friend! :wizard:

Val - Good luck to your DH. I hope he passes the test.

zalansky - My DH works for a Disney-owned company and is considered a "CM". They get some great perks, let me tell you.

My dad just emailed me our Four Generations picture from Christmas. From l-r: my grandmother holding my nephew Alex, my father, me holding Lucas, and my sister holding my nephew Jonathan. (She is the mother of the twins - they are 3 1/2 months old.)
f0b5fd12.jpg

SL - Great pic of your family. I have to post the pic of Jimmy, DH, and his dad. Three generations of James. DH's grandfather was a James, too. He died about two months before Jimmy was born. The funny thing is about a month or so before he passed away, he told his wife he had seen our baby. She asked him what he looked like, and he said the baby was good looking like he was. It was so nice to think that maybe he really did know something we didn't.

Alice28 - Do you have caller ID? Maybe you should carefully screen your calls for the next couple of days? ;) I hope you get a good night's sleep tonight. I think all of us mommies could use that.

zalansky - The Dis. call center job sounds interesting. Take some time to relax and enjoy your newfound time off.

It's been a draining day. I'm not done my school stuff, but it can wait. Night all!

That's a great pic SL! I love it! Somewhere I have a picture of my great-grandma, holding Sam, with me and my mom in the picture. My grandmother died when I was 8 or so; had she been alive it would have been a 5 generation pic.

Oh lissawynn- I am SO happy for your friend. That's such an answer to prayer- thank God! :goodvibes

Zalansky- a PT job sounds terrific! ESP for Disney! I was just thinking a little bit ago, I wish I could work 1 day a week- like maybe an early morning shift or a night shift at say Coldwater Creek or Gymboree. Just to get OUT and make a few hundred bucks a month. I'm going to wait til DH is home awhile and then talk with him about it. My best friend is the GM at an Old Navy and she's always telling me she would hire me to do stock in a second.

Zalansky, I will PM you my ebay ID. I am by NO MEANS a power seller- I think I have feedback of 75 or so, but it sure is a quick way to get a few bucks and clean out your closet! I have a bagful of Gymbo stuff to list after DH comes home. I thought about doing it yesterday, but realized I do NOT want to go to the PO in the next 2-3 weeks! PM me and questions and I will do my best to answer them.

nucpharm- sounds like you found some great stuff at Gymbo. I called another close friend of mine today to see if she wanted to go with me next Weds to put some stuff on hold. I have 3 Gymbucks, but only need to spend 1. Maybe 2. There is about $75 worth of stuff I want actually, and I thought if Brandie wanted $25 (or $75) she could just share my Gymbucks with me. Gymboree is very, very addicting with daughters! You are so right Jill! I never thought it was any big whoop with the boys....but good lord....well, you know my story!

I keep looking at Subaru's website at the Tribeca. I'm salivating over it. But we have to keep the cool attitude while we're there. We really need to not spend more than $30K (borrow no more than $25K) so we have to be able to walk away from the dealer if they won't play ball. They are selling for about $29-33K depending on the features. We certainly don't need the GPS navagating system! :rotfl: Last time we bought from this dealership, we did walk away cause we just couldn't afford what they were offering us (they claimed to only have 2003 models when the ad said they had a few 2002 models left). So we came home and 20 minutes later the phone rang and they FOUND a 2002. DH was like, "I don't want to come back down there. We live 3 minutes away- can you bring it here?" AND THEY DID! We test drove it in our own neighborhood- it was a crack up. And we got it for totally cheap. :teeth:

Anyway, bellacam, here is some :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: . Keep us posted! Today I was working in the yard with my folks and I was imagining my oldest at 20...and I said, "then Josh would be 17 and Molly 14....geez!" And my dad says, "And the youngest would be about 12..." I shot him the EVIL eye and said, "NO FREAKING WAY." I had the garden clippers in my hand and made the snipping motion and said, "This is what Bob will be doing sometime in the next 6 months! Not with these of course!" And we laughed. :rotfl2:

DH, Jimmy, DH's dad on Christmas Day at DH's parents' house.

Wow this thread is flying!

Alice - yes, that was me! I'm glad you got your coupon. A family picture with Dad sounds like a great idea. I think we are going to do 9 month pictures someplace else, just for a break.

SL - that's a great 4 generation picture. How sweet!

lisawynn - I'm so happy to hear about your friend. What great news!

diskim - I agree with others that 2 weeks notice is plenty. Go with your gut, if this sitter doesn't feel right then you should definitely switch. Does your current sitter not have a contract? My aunt and SIL both do daycare and have it written in their contract how many days off a year they can take.

jill - John looks so cute in the bumbo seat. He is getting big. What a doll! That's great that he got his shot. Four shots, poor guy!

zalansky - That would be great to just work a few hours and get those Disney perks. I was actually thinking about that when I was in the Gap today. If I could find a sitter 1 or 2 days a week, I would LOVE that Gap discount for all of Tyler's clothes.

That reminds me, there are good deals at Baby Gap right now. I got Tyler a Gap sweatshirt for next year for $9.99 and some really cute jeans too. I have yet to ever buy anything (other than a gift) at Gymboree - I know, it's horrible isn't it? I just can't find anything I can't live without. I did almost buy the green airplane sweater and matching green plaid pants, but all they had was 6-12 months and that's what he's in right now, I didn't know how long he would wear it.

I know I'm missing a bunch of people, but I have to run. Have a good night everyone.

Tamie

lissawynn - That's a great picture of the three "guys".

Alice28 - I was LOL at your car dealership story. My FIL has a way with car salesmen and would totally have talked the salesman into the same thing. Too funny!

tkyes - I feel the same way about Gymboree. I go in there every time I'm at the mall, but just can't find much I like. Maybe if I had a girl I'd feel differently. I bought Lucas that green plaid airplane jacket last fall but of course it no longer fits. I do have a winter hat and a sweater with a brown bear on it from there. I couldn't really get into the weiner dog line, I don't know - maybe it's just me. :rotfl:

Tonight DH is going to a hockey game. There's a ceremony for a few former Whalers players also which is supposed to be a big deal. I don't follow hockey so I don't really care much. LOL. Lucas and I get to have dinner at my parent's house because I didn't want to cook for one.

Wow, there have been so many posts since I was last on here! I picked up my BIL at the airport yesterday and he's basically been asleep since then. Ahh, the life of a teenager. We finally got him up and into the shower now cause we have to leave to pick up Madison in about an hour and then we're going out to lunch. Then he's got to come to Madison's Gymboree music class with me while my husband meets with a professor.

I love the family photos that were posted. We have so few of our extended family since we don't live near either side. I just found out that my cousin who lives in Cleveland is having her 2nd baby in July (their daughter will be 9 this month) so it sorta makes me feel better about possibly moving to Cleveland cause now this new baby (and Madison too really) will have a relative its age nearby. That's the one thing I really miss about living in DC, that we don't get to see our families much.

Okay, I'll read through the rest of the posts later today, but I've got to go finish the laundry from our vacation cause I'm tired of it sitting all over the house!

Okay, I'm going to try to post some new pics of my kids. I missed out sharing Xmas photos b/c of being away from my computer, but here are some pics in the new year.

74823matthewsmall.jpg

74823emmasmall.jpg

Jill-I had to laugh at your post about the weight of John Paul compared to the other little one. I saw in your post how much John weighed, and Matthew who was born 11/7 now weights over 13lbs! I guess that's what happens when you come out at 9lbs. LOL. The funny thing is my sister's baby is 10 weeks older than Matthew and she is just a pound heavier than he is.

I guess I'm going to have to bite the bullet and take down our Christmas tree today. I was going to wait until DH had a day off, but since he only gets one before the 19th I figure I'll do it myself. I just hate hauling everything down to the basement. I've never been known for my brute strength! :rotfl:

Hey, you guys that are selling on Ebay. If any of you guys are selling 12-18 month boy fall/winter or 2-3T girl fall/winter, I would love to look at it. I'm pretty sure the kids are set for spring/summer b/c I tend to buy their clothes a season ahead to get all the good clearance deals.

Cute pics nucpharm!

and lissawynn----wow, Jimmy to me looks a lot like daddy. Then again, I don't know what you look like, so I apologize if I'm way off base! (I always hate it when people say our kids look like one of us, when all along I think they are a carbon copy of the opposite parent----my oldest looks more like me, Molly looks just like Daddy and Joshua is somewhere in the middle).

Ladies- I was in hell last night. Well, close enough. I passed a kidney stone. It was awful. I actually called my parents crying at 0230 because I was in so much pain, Molly was crying and I wasn't sure if I needed to go to the hospital. I drank 4 quarts of H20, took a vicoden and it either passed or it's 'floating' again in my kidney. Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhh....in all my excitement/anxiety about next week, my water intake has not been great. And I know better than that.

:guilty:

Alice28 - I hope you're feeling better. We were just talking about kidney stones the other day in lunch. One of our male teachers was taken out on a gurney a few years ago due to one. I'm going to try to find a pic of me that's not a mess so you can see what I look like. I really think Jimmy looks like my dad, so I'm going to try to find a pic of him too.

No friend yet. I'm taking a pg test tonight!
