I just wanted to post some good news of my own. My dad's MRI was completely clear. There is nothing on it that would cause his headaches. I keep telling him to get his eyes checked, but he won't listen to me.

FF - Great news for you!

DisKim - Jimmy really doesn't need an Elmo, but it seems like I should want him to have one b/c evryone else is getting them. Btw, you should come and work for my principal. She is wonderful and totally supportive of her staff. You'd just have to live in the coal region and deal with completely backward folks (the minority) who don't value education.

I have to get out of here and attempt a trip to the post office. Later y'all!

ff--Great news about Kona!!1 :cool1: :cheer2:   :cheer2:

lissawyn--Great news about your dad!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Somebody stop me---I just baked another batch of cookies and printed another recipe to try tonight!!!!! Some Christmas elf has invaded my body!!! :rotfl: I guess I"ll freeze some of my goodies and pull them out for friends and unexpected company--either that or they'll make excellent snackies for our 13 hr ride "over the river and through the woods to grandmother's house we go" next week!

Well, gotta get the cookies out of the oven and Matthew up from his nap so we can head to my parents! Chat tonight!

FF - Great news about Kona! Hope your DS is feeling better.

lissawynn - Glad your dad's MRI came out ok.

nucpharm - Wow, you're a machine! :rotfl: I found a recipe for a Christmas candy made with white chocolate chips and M&Ms. I think that'll about do me in.

diskim - on all the Elmos. I'm afraid to even attempt to order one at the regular price. I just know that I'd get it, then the bottom of the Elmo market would drop out and I wouldn't be able to unload it on ebay for even half of what I bought it for. I'm sticking with the one I have.

zalansky - Lucas never had roseola. Hope Cameryn feels better soon.

alice28 - Woo hoo on getting to sleep in! How's the pink eye doing? Any better?

tkyes - Sorry your DH was involved in a fender bender. I can't imagine flying with ruptured ear drums. My flight when I had a sinus infection was torture!

My friend just emailed me offering me her Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. She ordered it online, then found out a family member is sending one to her DS. I think I'll buy it off her and save it for Lucas' bday in June.

ff and alissa - Great news for both of you! I'm so glad everyone is ok!!! FF - that's great that your MIL offered to help with the septic! Get that thing fixed once and for all would ya? ;) lol!

DH has an ear infection and congestion in his ears. Dr. said he's ok to fly, he gave him a strong antihistimine that will knock him out on the flight.

z - Now I have to go check the budget board!

alice - I hear ya - I often feel bad because Tyler and I don't go to many group activities. But I think he's doing ok!

Time to go enjoy some time with my DH while he's still home!

Tamie

Hi Everyone!

I just wanted to pop in and tell Floridafam that I am so relieved that all is well with Kona and that she won't need surgery now! :cheer2: I was thinking of you all today, but didn't get a chance to come on here until now.

I'm off to teach CCD and then for Math night at my school. I hope that you all are doing well and I will try to catch up tomorrow.

Have a great day everyone!! :sunny:

:cheer2: lissawynn- GREAT news about your Dad!

Tamie- glad your DH's eardrum wasn't ruptured. I hope he doesn't have any pain on the flight. Hopefully he can get a couple of doses of antiobiotic in him before he takes off.

The cable guy is here. Been here an hour already and problem still isn't solved. :confused3

Oops gotta go

Afternoon all! I'm stealing a few quiet moments before we all have to go to the GS Christmas party tonight.

ff--Such good news all around for you!

nucpharm--You know, it never hurts to have stuff in the freezer this time of year--I'm always forgetting someone that would appreciate home-baked goods.

Alissa--Great news for you, too. Gosh, it seems like there's always something to worry about, isn't there?

GLT--Our "standard" gift this year is Santa's Trail Mix, which I got from organizedChristmas.com. We changed it up a bit, just because I coudn't find white chocolate covered pretzels at first, then later I did, but I'd already bought this white mix-ey thing from Target that fit right in, and we added the holiday marshmallows. So anyway, it made a huge batch, and I had the older kids decorate the bags while Celeste mixed. It looked real good, but we haven't tried it yet since I'm saving our few leftover bags in case I forgot someone. ANyway, I'm sure your neighbors aren't expecting a whole lot form you this year, but if you wanted to do something simple, that website has a lot of simple craft-type things that you could do with the kids, without breaking the bank.

Well, Jocelyn and I tried that Oreo truffle recipe someone (nucpharm?) posted here, and I managed to botch it up. No worries, though, as we had used real chocolate chips for the coating (my first mistake), and just added some ingrdients and made Oreo fudge. I'm sure the Girl Scouts will swill it down tonight. My kids have been devouring the "trim" pieces and say it's delicious.

Robin--I know what you're saying about the hobby thing, but it's something you can't force. DH loves baseball--so does Robert, which is great, but we tried with Jocelyn, and she has zero interest. Maybe the rifle range--like you, I went with my dad as a child. But there again, I could see it being Robert more. But we'll see. At least the kids see mom and dad both shooting, so they don't get sexist notions about it.

justthat--That's great about new pregnancies in your life (not yours--yet! maybe someday!). Gee, it's probably time to start thinking about introducing your Bahrain friend to the wonder that is Gymboree, no?

Loretta--Whatever drugs they gave you, the nice thing to do would be to share with the rest of us!

Oops, party's over. Talk to you all later! Gina, have a funnel cake for us!

Hi Everyone,

I meant to catch up yesterday but we were decorating the tree and waiting for Santa to come around on the fire truck. Liam fell on his nose on the "welcome" mat outside of the house and had a honkin' red nose with rug burn scratches on it. Bad mommy! Oh, Tamie - I wanted to tell you that since 9/23 (Liam's birthday) both kids have grown and we've marked it on our growth charts. Kevin grew 1.5 inches and Liam grew an inch. I've got tall kids at home!

Anyway -

Alissa - I'm really glad to hear your Father is doing better and got good results from his MRI. :grouphug:

Jill - that's great that you got an appointment with the Neurologist so quickly. Has she still been having a lot of muscle pain over the past weekend or does it kind of come and go? I'm sure you're counting down the days until WDW!!!

Floridafam - Glad to hear the good news about Kona. Is that when the belly button sticks out and it looks like a 1 inch tube?? My niece had this really prominently when she was 1 and 2 but now she's almost 5 and it slowly went away and now it's really not noticeable. That may not be the same thing but I am really glad to hear that she's doing ok today. :)

Loretta - I saw that adorable Christmas dress at the Disney store yesterday that you have Cam dressed up in on her christmas photo. The tights are adorable also - so cute! Hope you're feeling better. LOL about the "deals" on the budget board - sometimes I wind up spending money on the great deals posted when I shouldn't be spending money in the first place.

SL - The MM clubhouse is really cute - I was thinking about getting one but someone said on the budget board the other characters are hard to find. Let us know how you like it if you get it. Sounds like you had a nice day in NYC.

Tamie - sorry to hear about DH's eardrums. OUCH! I hope he's feeling better soon.

Gottalovethem - Hugs to you. :grouphug: I can't even begin to imagine how hard it must be these days for you. I think it's a good idea you had the locks changed - if only for your own safety and that of your children. I will send you continued good thoughts and well wishes.

Nucpharm - WTG with all of the baking. Sounds like you're having a lot of fun. :teeth:

Justine - I'm so sorry you got locked out of the house! You poor girl! It's been a rough few weeks for you. Are you still going to WDW in a few days?

Joats - LOL at your request to get Jace to stand in front of the tree and smile! :teeth: . I think you should use the "Disco Jace" picture for your christmas cards. Sorry to hear he got sick in your friend's car - ugh! I always hated when the kids throw up in the car seat because taking those things off of the seat belt and washing it and fitting it back on are a huge hassle.

Valerie - I hope you're feeling better also. Did you have to go to the doctor?

Buzznbelle - LOL about the pants behind the dryer - glad you finally found them. Sorry to hear about all of your car troubles - UGH!

Robin, J&D and Ginamarie - Good luck with your DIS game!

Gotta run - Hi to all the mom's.   talk to everyone soon.

FF - so glad you have good news on all your fronts, I'm so glad.

jill - I've been keeping your family in my prayers. I hope all goes well.

lissawynn- glad the MRI went well!

bnb - I'm anxious to try that recipe too! I just need a ride to the store so i can buy ingredients!

Hillbeans - Santa on a firetruck? It doesn't get any better than that!

Tamie - hope you were able to connect with dh

ugh - I was DISing and Leif managed to get chips all over the floor, gotta run!

I just wanted to share the pic I am using for our Christmas cards.
christmaspic.jpg

I'm signing the card, "The Thompson's" to leave it open-ended...

Aw, GLT, your kids just look darling! I couldn't get mine together for a shot. I do have these of Molly though. Please excuse her dirty face and/or major drool- I think she had a candy in her mouth or something!

christmas06005.jpg

christmas06011.jpg

Alisa- that nurse sounds like an A-1 jerk. :furious:

Z- no experience with Roseola...

Gotta go help Sam with homework!

Drive by post:

I am so relieved to hear the news FF & Lissawyn! :woohoo: Glad you both got good news today.

Z: Can I have some? :rotfl: Jace did have the Roseola virus too. If I remember rightly he was very tired and very cranky for a few days when the spots came. But at least the spots indicate the virus is on the way out. Hopefully Cam will feel better soon.

Tamie: Glad DH is ok. Have a nice time w/him before he has to leave. What does he do?? Does he have to travel a lot?

DisKim: You'll be up to your eyeballs in ELMOs!!! I hope Aidan enjoys him after all this. :) (I'm afraid Jace is going to be scared of his).

I love everyone's photos!!

Gott run, DH made a fabulous dinner that's ready to go: Ribeye steaks - MmmMmm!!
Have a great night!
:)

I'm exhausted, but I just wanted to thank you all for your thoughts for my dad. His bloodwork was good, too, especially since he's a diabetic. I am going to make that man get his eyes checked. The best part of this is he went to see the dr. my mom works for. Considering they're divorced, I don't know if he was envisioning my mom being the messenger of bad tidings just to get him or what. Such is their relationship.

GLT - I just wanted to tell you how beautiful your kids are. I hope they enjoy all of their Santa gifts and you get to have a great Christmas.

I promise to catch up tomorrow. I'm exhaused and need to throw in a load of wash.

Robin - I almost bought that outsit for Cam! It looks great on Molly!

My pictures for our Christmas cards finally arrived from snapfish so I really should be working on my cards. I'm checking in here first of course :)

glt - Great picture! Your kids are so cute!! I think that's a good way to sign your card, nothing to explain. I forgot to say, homemade gifts are great! I always make homemade caramels and then wrap them and put them in clear celophane bags with a ribbon on it for my neighbors.

joats - To get Tyler to smile in front of the tree, DH squated down and lifted Tyler up over his head and bounced him a bit, he thought it was hilarious. DH works for a medical device company. He manages the literature dept. for the company. He doesn't have to travel a ton. Unfortunately when he has recently it's been to Europe, which are long trips!

alice -Adorable pictures of Molly. What a sneaky little grin!

hillary - sorry for the scuffed up nose! That's so cute that you guys are using the growth charts. You do have some tall kids!

nucpharm - You are cracking me up with your baking!

I don't think I told you guys that my calendars came. They turned out great. If anyone is ever thinking of ordering a calendar from snapfish, they are very good quality and on very thick paper.

How sad is this - DH and I are searching for people to invite over for a holiday get together. Anyone want to come? We had nothing going on this weekend and were kind of bored. We have nothing going on next weekend either. I was hoping we would host DH's holiday party, but his employees decided that they wanted to go out to lunch instead. So we aren't entertaining at all and I love to entertain! Everyone else is super busy so they can't come join us.

Here are a few pictures - A couple of people asked about the pond we skated on, it's right behind our house. This is from our deck.

And here is our tree

Talk to you all later!

Tamie

Good evening moms! :wave2:

I'm going on memory here so forgive me if I miss anyone....

Tamie - I love your pictures! If I lived closer to you, I would come to your party in a heartbeat! I'm glad to hear that you liked the snapfish calendar. I ordered one from Imagestation for my MIL and I am curious as to the quality of it.

Nucpharm - You are a baking queen! :thumbsup2 I spent all day yesterday baking cookies with the girls and ended up with around 12 dozen cookies. We are shipping most of them to the soldiers in Iraq, but I had fun taste testing!

Robin - The picture of Molly is absolutely adorable! I'm saying some prayers for your neighbor that the bf works out.

Lissawynn - That is wonderful news about your dad. :cheer2: I'm sorry to hear that you got the mean nurse again!

Justhat - Sorry to hear about you getting locked out! Congrats to your friend on her pregnancy. As far as the baby pangs go, I was ready to have a third when Katie was a 2 month old. Unfortunately, we were never able to get pregnant so I felt I was done when Katie was 5. Then along came John!

GLT - You have a beautiful family. Sorry to hear that your exh is playing dirty. I'll say some prayers that everything works out this Thursday.

FF - What a relief that all is well with your family and the septic problem will be taken care of.

Hillbeans - Sorry to hear about Liam's nose. We usually have a firetruck come around here with Santa, but we always seem to miss it. Answering your question about Meagan's pain....her pain comes and goes. As a matter of fact, she was in pain tonight at Math night and unfortunately I didn't have medicine with me. She had to schlepp across campus and I felt bad for her.

Val - I hope you feel better soon!

Fabumouse - Sorry to hear that your dh has the "manflu"!

BnBmom - How was the GS Christmas party?

Dizagain - Isn't it crazy how fast our kids grow up? I'm glad to hear that your dd had a wonderful time at the party. How was the AG weekend?

SL - Congrats for being done Christmas shopping!

DisKim - I'm sorry that your principal is being a pain in the rear. Hang in there!

Joats - Were you ever able to get a picture of Jace smiling in front of the tree?

Ginamarie - It is so great to see you posting from WDW!!!

J&D - Sorry that one of your team members took what you said the wrong way. You are definitely one person who is NOT snarky. Good luck with everything and I hope you, GM and Robin make it through the first round!

Z - When my girls had a virus they would always break out in a rash once the virus/fever had moved through their system. I hope that you and Cam are feeling better!

Tasha - How does it feel to not have to study?

Gems - How are you doing?

Hi to all the moms! :wave2:

Math night was fun tonight. I brought the girls with me and of course Meagan tells my professor that she hates school. :rolleyes1 Meagan usually loves school, but this has been a tough year for her with cliques, etc. I know her and she will end up loving it in the end. Unfortunately, Meagan's legs started to ache while we were at school tonight and I had no medicine to help her out. As soon as we got home she took some Motrin and took a hot shower. That seemed to help.

Tomorrow John has an 8 a.m. ENT appointment so we need to leave at the crack of dawn in order to beat the traffic. I better not miss this appointment since I missed our last one. I also got a phone call from Early Intervention for his evaluation so that is good.

Everyone have a wonderful evening! :wave2:

Hi, everyone!

I received a wonderful Secret Santa package today from Robin. She sent Jenna a cute monogrammed Pooh turtleneck. Unless it is too hot, Jenna will wear it to AK on our trip to WDW. I will take her picture with Pooh and post it for everyone to see. Robin sent me a big Ghirardelli peppermint bark bar (my fav holiday treat). I really needed that after finishing the first WPASADI challenge. She also sent me 2 white chocolate scented candles and 2 cinnamon scented candles. Thank you so much, Robin!

I will be hitting the post office tomorrow to mail out my SS package, GLT's holiday package, and Holly's Teletubby. The Internet order that I was waiting on FINALLY arrived today.

Jill- Maybe we could meet at DD on the night of the 26th. I don't know what time we will arrive in Orlando. Maybe I could give you a call on your cell phone when we arrive.

Tamie- Cute new pic of Tyler.

GLT- Beautiful pic of the kids. Sending more hugs and prayers your way!

Hillbeans- They don't do Santa on the firetruck here, but they do where my parents live.

lissawynn- Great news about your dad!

FF- Great news about Kona!

SL- Did you find a red carpet outfit? Better dress warmly if you want to attend our event!

Icebrat- Thank you so much for being an entertainer at our event!!!

DisKim- Funny about all of the Elmos. We have an original TMO, so we had no interest in finding one of the new ones. I saw that they are in stock at TRU.com now.

nucpharm- Your posts always crack me up.

Tasha- Enjoy your break from school.

Val- Feel better soon.

Ginamarie- Hope you are having a great time at WDW!

Loretta- How is your dad doing lately? I'm sure you've posted an update that I missed due to WPASADI.

We took Jenna's Christmas pictures last week. Here is one that I really like. It was so hard to get her to sit still, so the photographer shot this one while she was turned around. Even though you can't see her face, we think it is adorable.

Hi to the moms I missed.

TTFN!

Quickie post before I crash for the night:

I'm so glad all worked out and Kona doesn't need surgery and also that everything was okay for Lissawynn's dad.

Prayers for GLT for tomorrow. Please know that we are all thinking of you.

Jill,
I hope Meagan's pain is easily treatable and that everything goes well with John's appointments.

Thank you so very much for the Secret Santa package :teeth: ! I loved everything: the chocolates, the candle, the candy, the cocoa and cute Santa mugs, the Disney ornament, and especially that really neat cookbook. I haven't been able to put it down since I opened the box :thumbsup2 . It was such a lovely treat to come home to today :) .

Hi to Robin (great pictures of Miss Molly), Tamie (great pics as well :sunny: ), Hillbeans, Diskim, Joats, SL (I am so envious that you are done shopping ;) ), BnB, GM (I loved EE too :teeth: ), Loretta (hope Cam is feeling better) Nucpharm (your goodies sound wonderful), Tasha, and all the moms I'm missing  .

I'm feeling a bit better today. I think what I have is just a severe chest cold. I've been taking some otc meds that get the mucus out of your lungs and they seem to be helping. Of course now I can't stop coughing but what can you do?

My exchange package went out in the mail this morning :moped: . It should only take a couple of days to arrive ;) .

Tomorrow is our sorority Christmas party so I have been baking and wrapping in preperation for it. We do a cookies swap, and ornament exchange, a secret santa gift, and cards. It's always a lot of fun.

I suppose I should go to bed now before I fall asleep at the computer. I am just so exhausted from being sick - ugh. Talk to you all soon  .

I forgot to mention this earlier. My dad's girlfriend's DD is stationed in Iraq. She told us that many of the soldiers receive NOTHING in the mail, so at Thanksgiving we put together Christmas stockings to send to some of the soldiers in her unit. I am mailing them Christmas cards tomorrow. Would anyone else like to send them a Christmas card? If so, then please send me a PM and I will give you a list of their names and address. There are 10 names on the list.

Thanks!

Hi Mommies!

Just a quick update on DH...He called me at work on Saturday night and said he had to call 911 because he almost passed out. Needless to say, I rushed home from work to be with him. We took him to the ER. They did an ultrasound of his arteries, a CT scan, and an EKG. They said everything looked ok, but they wanted him to have an outpatient MRA on his arteries. We went to the doctor yesterday for a follow-up visit. She put the referral in for the MRA. Hopefully, they will be able to figure out what is wrong with him.

Alice- No funnel cake for me, yet! I am getting quite my fill of food though. Oh no, not a nautical gymbo theme! I’m a complete sucker for stuff like that, and I’ve been staying out of that store! Molly is so cute!

DisKim- Wow, we haven’t been to Storybookland in many years! I’m glad to hear the place is still running.

Tamie- I hope your DH is ok. It’s incredible how sometimes a tap on the bumper can cause odd personal injuries. I hope it’s nothing serious. Cute tree!

GLT- We’re going to the Christmas Party on Thursday night. I can’t wait. Everything here is so beautiful, all lit up for Christmas. We’ve been taking a lot of pictures, so I’ll have plenty to share. I love your Christmas picture.

FloridaFam- Great news about Kona!

Hillbeans- Sorry about Liam’s nose. Maybe he looks a little like Rudolph?

OK, time to get moving to MGM. I wanted to post last night, but the disboards were down. WDW is great! We had a HUGE lunch in Italy yesterday, which was one of the best meals I’ve ever eaten.
