***The Official March 2016 Thread!***

Is anyone going to be there on Easter Sunday and/ or Monday? What is your strategy?

We will be arriving on Sunday. We are avoiding MK on Easter and going there later in the week. We're really hoping they extend the hours when it gets closer. Our strategy is just to relax. We are going in anticipating large crowds but our dining reservations are made and our fastpasses are booked so we will try to experience as much as we can...but it is what it is. So excited!

I like your plan and your attitude! We also have our ADRs and FPs set, but we've never visited during a peak time before. I have conveyed to our kids that this trip will be unlike any of our previous trips and we have to adjust our expectations.

I think my expectations for crowds are just low or something...I went right after Christmas a few years ago and it's supposed to be one of the most crowded times of the year and I didn't think it was that bad. I have been during peak times, and it's really not as bad as I've read about....or like, I said maybe my expectations are low? I dunno....

Just found this thread! Still a noob I guess :rolleyes: We're also going in March. Two nights in a lake view studio at VGF then over to Boardwalk to join up with the grandparents in a two bed room boardwalk view starting St Patty's day. It will be our first time at the Grand Floridian and my first time in a Boardwalk view so its hard to say which one we're more excited about.

We're also trying out dinner at Cinderella's Royal table and Le Cellier (grandparents pick) so it should be fun. We're at something like 28 days away so the excitement is building! This will also be our longest trip ever and 30 years after my first trip :teeth:

Great advice ::yes::

We always go over Thanksgiving and even though the crowds are insane its still very manageable. Rope drop and FP's are your friend and be flexible. We went last March and loved it. The crowds were much better than Thanksgiving and the weather is perfect :cloud9:

Yay! Magic Bands have shipped! So excited! I'll have two....I had a friend who still frequently travels to Orlando buy me an Olaf Magic Band.....and I still got the one they give you when you stay on site, just in case my mom's dog happens to get to mine before the trip....he's still a puppy and manages to get into things you thought he couldn't so....

My signature name tag doesn't seem to be keeping the countdown. I'm seeing it still says 38 days, we're at less than 30 days. We check in March 20th. A few days ago I got the confirmation email from DVC that our waitlist at Boardwalk Villas came through. One bedroom villa, standard view. I called and requested an upper floor, view toward the tennis courts. That's the short side hall of the standard view L shape. Its furthest from the actual pool and Boardwalk but it is close to the parking lot that we plan to park in. It should also expedite the walk to DHS, so seems good to me. We haven't been as a family since last spring break, but I was there last month with friends. It'll be our first stay at Boardwalk Villas, it'll be our firs time seeing the new Star Wars Fireworks. I'm kinda bummed that Soarin' is still closed and the new incarnation of Maelstrom, Frozen Forever won't be open either. We'll see those in August I guess. I made fastpasses for the 1st 5 days. My DH and DD13 have 5 day hoppers. We'll upgarde to DVC APs when we get there, but that means I can't make fastpasses for our last day. Oh well. It'll be EPCOT. I want to see The Village People. On arrival day we'll see The Little River Band. Last year we saw ELO and it was FANTASTIC!

I deleted the nametag counter since it wasn't updating, and created a new one on Distickers.com. I had made the name tag one on **************. Someone else in this group has the name tag one. I don't know why it wasn't updating. Now... since I fixed that... I have a question. If you close the browser tab on this thread, HOW do you get back to it? I don't see any place to click on for specific threads your following. I found a place to click on threads that I'm "following" but they're old ones that havent' been active in ages, and only 4 of them. Not even the dozens of other ones.

Hello! In a moment of fantastic crazy I decided last night that my kids and I should drive over for a day at Magic Kingdom after our spring break beach vacation. My wonderful hubby agreed (having long ago given up reasoning with anything Disney and me), and we are all set for three nights at AoA 3/23-3/26! I was able to get the FP+'s and character dining we wanted, and I can't believe I've planned a whole little trip in less than 24 hours! Wheee!! :yay:

That's great!! Which beach are you going to? Hope old are the kids?

I was thinking of doing Vero Beach with our Orlando vacation this summer, but then we decided that we had too much planned. We have a split stay at Disney and we're going to begin return some nights at Universal that I haven't booked yet. We want to do Disney and Universal and possibly SeaWorld and their water parks, so adding the beach is too much.

You'll love AoA. They have the best food court on property. I even drive over to eat there from my deluxe resorts.

Two weeks out today! Received Magic bands early last week, then our magical extras (mini golf, espn wwos passes), and packed this past weekend.

Universal and Disney will be lots of fun! We're spending the first part of our week at Seaside. I'd like to stay at Vero some time too. We stayed at Disney's Hilton Head resort last year and had a great time. Can't go wrong with Disney!
