The Official MARCH 2012 Thread! Countdown to Spring Break TOGETHER!!

THAT would be fantastic!!!!!! :cool1:

Birnbaum reads ME as a "money saver" ... and ...

OH! Here it is, in regards to ME:
"This tailor-made, complimentary transportation program is available to guests staying at select Disney resorts."

But it is something you have to book through WDW, because they send special luggage tags and a voucher. If you need further info, I can help you research it ... but they do recommend people staying on site to use ME over paying for a taxi. The only downside is that it takes longer to get to resort from airport and vice versa.

Oh, but the extra time using ME is STILL less time it would take to drive the 11 hours!!! :rotfl: We applied for the Southwest card...now we wait to get approved and to see what kind of cheap tickets SW runs in the next couple months. popcorn:: They have an awesome deal going right now, but it ends in two days so I don't think we will have the card approved and points applied in that short amount of time. What can you do? :confused3 Here's hoping for some rock bottom prices to come through for us... pixiedust:

I agree completely about it being a time saver! Plus, if your ME pickup isn't until later on "leaving day", you can hit a park for a few hours!

Fingers are crossed you get everything squared away quickly!!! :goodvibes

Like many of you, we aren't tell our kids for another month or two- after they know I figure time will fly as we have paper chains, calendars, pixie dust cards, research etc to do. Until then- what are people doing to pass the time? I feel like I've researched myself to death already, but am I missing something? ADR done, week plan for parks done, a tentative park plan done- thoughts?

I surprised my kids this past May ... I created a PTR to occupy my time and read Disney books (like my Birnbaum and a "things you didn't know about WDW" type book). Plus, I'd watch youtube videos, the planning video, and anything else I could think of ....

It was harder for me, because the kids didn't know anything about the trip until we passed through the gate. I didn't have chains and such, and I couldn't talk Disney with them.

Keep us posted on what you decide to do to fill your time! :goodvibes (Plus, let us know how the surprise goes!!!) :yay:

I feel the same way. Although my DS already knows, my DM spilled the beans. I think I'm going to start some sort of countdown at 90 days. I just haven't decided what yet. I don't really want to do the chain thing so it may just be a big calendar.

We've never done countdowns before ... but I'm actually considering a chain this year. I was going to let each kid craft X amount of links and then we'll all take turns pulling a link off. I think it will be fun for us, since we haven't done it before.

Plus, if I give them paper and crayons and tell them the importance of what they're doing, they may let me study for finals. :lmao::rotfl2:

That's not a bad idea giving the trouble I had trying to do homewith with DS watching "Shake It Up" last night. :rotfl: Finite Math is bad enough without him distracting me.

Oh I had so much fun with countdowns for the last trip we took to Disney in March! We had the paper chain PLUS I put random Disney treats in lunchboxes once a week with a little note that said "X weeks til Disney!" They loved these surprises. They kept them in their lockers at school in a shoebox. They still have those shoeboxes! :lmao: For the surprises I just grabbed anything with a Disney theme at Dollar Tree and the party favors at Walmart. We had things like stickers, candy, gummies, yo-yos, mini puzzles, spinners, small frisbees, etc. I also found free downloadables like pictures to color, word puzzles and bookmarks online too. AND we also had a countdown calendar that I printed off of Disney.com...so much fun. Keeping it a secret this time is KILLING ME!!!

You had "Shake It UP" (which is banned in my living room -- that show just works my last nerve -- kiddos gotta watch it in DD's room) ... I had "Good Luck Charlie". I love GLC ... such an adorable show .... :lmao:

What's your major?

I've never done a countdown ... so perhaps it's time! Plus, I want the kids to get excited ... they know we're going but they're all "meh". I feel like they don't care if we take them or leave them home. :confused3 Maybe it's not real for them. Or maybe they're burnt on WDW ... and maybe I should take a friend instead. :rotfl2:

I didn't think about checking Disney.com for ideas! Thank you!!!! :flower3:

Okay Disers...need your help. DH and I are crunching numbers to see if we could possibly fly instead of drive. :scared1: Could anyone tell me off the cuff the cost of ME per person from MCO?

Im so jealous! I keep trying to convince my DH to fly but he cant justify the extra $$. So for us its driving unless they throw a crazy deal like 69.00 each way.

English Lit, I only have one more class after this semester......assuming I pass the evil math.:cool1:

I know who's going to help me write my next English paper now! :rolleyes1

I'm in my first semester, so I have a long way to go before they give me my degree in Accounting. :sad2:
