**~~***The Official June 2017 Thread***~~**

I ordered it for trip as well! It is so cute! Actually planning to wear it tomorrow in MK for our get away weekend. Sitting at the airport right now, impatiently awaiting to board.
We have to live vicariously through you. Have a great trip!

Y'all they have filled the new WL pool up with water and are running some of the water features! I'm so excited! One - we will have a much better view if the pool construction is finished AND we will get to use that pool if we want to! Yah!

That's so good to hear! I was hoping we'd get a chance to at least see it almost done but this is even better. 3 weeks from tomorrow I can give a live report that hopefully includes a Roaring Fork update

Well, I was told the water was a leak test. They still have to paint the inside. But landscaping went in too, so fingers crossed, right? At least it should look nice!

:mickeyjumI've never done a last minute trip (most of our trips have involved YEARS of planning) but a little :tinker:has allowed DH & I to sneak off, kid-free, to celebrate our 15th anniversary! Just booked POR yesterday morning and we leave on June 1st! Flying in just in time for the big Epcot party night, a quick late night at AK for Pandora on Friday, not sure what for Saturday, and then back home Saturday night for my DD's ballet recital on Sunday!

Does anyone else have the summer quick service promo? I'm trying to figure out if the meal includes a dessert. I'm also trying to decide if it would be worth it to upgrade to the quick service dining plan? We have 2 adults, 11 year old and a 3 year old.

Oh, gawd, people, I did it again. Saw the words "Limited Edition" and "Buy One Get One 40% Off," and now I have two "Happily Every After" tshirts coming my way. I have justified this by telling myself we'll need to change shirts after a morning at AK and an afternoon at SAB, and it's only appropriate to wear said tshirts at the Tomorrowland Dessert Party. Right? Please tell me I'm right!!!!

We had a great time! Crazy that we are back already. Here's a few things I can report back on that might be helpful to people that haven't been in a while:

Disney Springs (Saturday)
  • Had lunch and drinks at Jock Lindsay's Hanger Bar - it was soooo good! We had the pork belly sliders and seared tuna tacos. Both were amazing. My DH got a beer and I had an "Anything Goes" mixed drink that was delicious. The space is great too, very unique.
  • We took a boat over to OKW where we are staying next month. I've never been before so it was nice to explore. It definitely seems like a place we are going to love.
  • Had drinks and enjoyed music at Dockside Margaritas. DH had a sour beer that he said was delicious and I had a Sunset Margarita while the sun was setting. It was beautiful and relaxing.
  • Had dinner at D-Luxe Burgers and OMG! This place was so good! We stood in line for 30 minutes to order (it was a Saturday night after all) and it was worth the wait! We both got a Southern burger that comes with bacon, pimento cheese, and fried green tomatoes.
  • This was our first time back since it turned to Disney Springs. I really liked everything they did with it. I found myself turned around a couple times which is weird for me on Disney property but we got it all figured out. I definitely felt priced out of many of the stores but I was really going to the food and drinks with a small bit of shopping anyway.
  • I found the parking decks to be very nice and helpful. They definitely did a good thing by building them.
Magic Kingdom (Sunday)
  • First off, the security check being before you get to MK is SOOOOO much better now. There weren't crazy crowds and it was smooth. We experienced it at the TTC after we parked (#offpropertylife) and at Poly when we came back from lunch via monorail.
  • We rope dropped and arrived around 8:15. We were able to take lots of photos and enjoy the opening show. It was cute but nothing to rave about.
  • Being this is May and not June, the crowd level was pretty moderate. We were able to get two rides on BTMRR, one Splash, one POTC, and one JC before leaving to poly at 10:45. And that's with strolling through gift shops and taking out time! I honestly don't know why everyone doesn't rope drop. Although if they did it would take away this advantage so I hope they don't start. :goodvibes
  • As stated, we went to Poly for lunch. I'm not a big fan of counter service at MK and it was an excuse to introduce DH to the resort. He'd eaten at Kona Cafe before but they were under heavy refurb. I'm hoping we get to stay there one day...this was the first step of securing that. (#goals)
  • We ate lunch at Captain Cooks. We split an order of the pulled pork nachos. They were delicious. Just enough to satisfy us both so we could enjoy a snack later.
  • We went back to MK and enjoyed the rest of the day. Nothing special to report on there. We were able to ride everything and even some extras. I introduced DH to the People Mover and Carousel of Progress. He liked the People Mover, not a fan of the CoP.
  • We ate dinner at Casey's while waiting for the fireworks. It was crowded as usual but good. DH got the mac and cheese hot dog which was surprisingly good.
  • Then came time for the purpose of the trip...Wishes. And the flood gates opened.:sad::sad: They were magical and wonderful. I will NEVER regret spending the money to experience them one more time. While I'm sad they are gone, I'm (kinda) looking forward to the new show in June. Something new is always fun. Wishes was my absolute favorite part of my WDW trips though so it's going to sting.
  • We stayed after Wishes to watch the new Once Upon a Time projection show. It was cute. I honestly liked Celebrate the Magic more but it wasn't bad. It helped that a little 3 year old girl that was totally loving it was sitting next to me.
  • Oooh! And one last thing...a tip really. One of my former students now works in the Main St. Confectionery. Each day they do a "Chef of the Day" where they choose kids (randomly I think) to decorate a rice krispy treat or cake pop with chocolate and goodies. They get a chef's hat and it's a whole thing. It is really cute. She said they usually do it around 1pm each day. I don't think there's any way to request it but it you wanted to try to be around with your kids during that time to increase your chances you can. Here's a little ChipandCo article about it: http://www.chipandco.com/main-street-confectionerys-chef-day-experience-builds-magical-memories-266085/
I hope that you find some of the info helpful. I also hope you didn't think I went on too long. Sometimes I get going and just can't stop. Here's looking to June! Only 40 days for me!!

If they had tanks, I would've bought them!
