**~~***The Official June 2017 Thread***~~**

American Airlines called last night and told me they had a schedule change and my flights were affected. Instead of arriving at 11a on June 4 we would arrive at 1:30p and instead of departing at 6:30p on June 10 we will depart at 5:10p.
I had them a give me an earlier arrival to 9:15a on June 4 (meaning 5:20a departure from CMH! hopefully the excitement will override the early morning grumpiness)

I was planning to do hang out and so DS on arrival day and park day on departure day but now I'm not sure. At 5:10p departure would mean ME leaves POR at like 2p right?

In your wise opinions- Better to do a park on arrival day and relax on departure day? Or neither. Or both.

FP in 5 days, at least they told me before that rather than after!

I would relax on departure day. I can never see getting on a plane stinky and sticky and in a rush coming out of the parks, that is just me. If you can sleep on the plane i would say park-it-up on arrival day, though it sounds like you have 2 flights coming down at almost a 4 hours of travel right? So that may keep ya from getting any good rest. But fingers crossed an early check in could set you up for a nice hotel nap and a great night of FP fun on your arrival day, that's what my family usually does :-) Good Luck!!

May I just say how grateful I am for this thread? Actually, for all of the DIS, but especially here. I can obsess and plan and occasionally post questions and thoughts, and know no one is going to say "Why are you freaking out about this?" Or, worse yet, "You're going to Disney AGAIN???"

My son told me recently I'm Howard Wolowitz from "The Big Bang Theory." For those who watch, that would be the episode after he came back from the ISS and couldn't stop talking about it, subsequently irritating the bejebus out of his friends. Me + WDW = Howard and Buzz Aldrin

Thank you all for being my people. :worship:

After checking multiple times a day.... I was finally able to move my ROL breakfast up.... 10 minutes. But, we have FP for the noon Lion King. 10:25 gives us more breathing room than 10:35. I'll keep checking to try to get closer to 10, but even then, I'm happy and DH thinks I'm crazy!

I completely agree! It is nice to have a place where I can go and talk Disney and not get that crazy eyed look that others give me! LOL!

I couldn't agree more! My in-laws go to Ocracoke Island 3 times a year and I get crap for going to Disney once a year! I don't get it...but really...they don't get it!

I just booked a mom/DD trip this week for DD#2. Excited to join the thread! It feels weird to go without everyone but DD#1 is getting married this year and DS/DH just went on boys bball trip.

DD17 cried when we told her because she has been bugging us about going back. She is the biggest Disney nut and doing really well in school.

I haven't been since 2011 and love all the updates. We are working out our park days and reservations and I was playing around on the site this morning.

Parenting done RIGHT. :thumbsup2

My FP+ is coming up in a couple of weeks, and I'm hoping for some feedback on DHS. I'm only planning 1 day at this park, and I can't leave well enough alone. It'll be myself, DH and DS9, who is a huge fan of all things Star Wars. We will be there Tues. 6/20.
Here's my current plan:

Arrive about 30 minutes prior to opening.
Rope drop - DH will ride ToT while I take DS9 to sign up for JTA and we will meet back up at RnRC. DH & I will ride that while DS waits. Hoping for a 20-30 min wait since it will still be early. Touring Plans estimates 26 min.
BatB 10am - is this possible or will we need to wait until the 11am show? I'm hoping to be able to accomplish the above in an hour. Wishful thinking?
Early-ish lighter lunch at Backlot Express before JTA at 12:10. Keeping fingers crossed this is the time we can get and not get rained out. When do the afternoon thunderstorms tend to happen? I'm a CA girl and don't usually get to experience summer rain. :rolleyes1
FP+ Star Tours 12:30
Late lunch at Sci Fi 1:50
FP+ Toy Story 3:00
Watch March of the First Order at 4:00 - this is the last time of the day, so hopefully we don't miss it. Do they tend to add times as it gets closer? Does this get rained out?
FP+ Frozen Sing-Along 4:30
Indiana Jones 6:00
VotLM 7:05
Hoping to add the Star Wars dessert party to explore Launch Bay and watch the fireworks. Does Kylo Ren meet during the party? DS wants to meet him and I'd prefer to do it here than earlier in the day. We do have a Disney Visa, but the character meet is only from 11-4.

:thanks:

When we were there last year, they let everyone in 30 minutes before RD to sign up for JTA. Not sure if they're still doing that.

I just booked my fast passes this morning and made my Magicband choices yesterday. 60 days left!!!
We are at 60 days too! I got all my FP choices.

A 9:20 Tusker House ROL popped up and I snagged it. It sort of defeats our whole "brunch" plan we had with the 10:30ish reservation, but I feel pretty good about making it to the 11:00 Lion King now and we will go to Pandora afterwards- instead of the other way around. I am hoping they won't be backed up yet and we will still get there a few minutes early. We have FP for Lion King as well. I have read this is a waste of a FP, but I wanted to ensure we could get in if we don't get there until like 10:40. I think I am doing tweaking my plans. Hahahahahahaha! Did I say that?

That's good to know! Thank you!
Sometimes even earlier. I arrived last June at 8:20 and they were already letting people in, though I think they had just started. We were at the back of the pack and ended up waiting until 9 to sign up. This year we are doing a pre-park opening ADR at 8:15 so we can sign up before the ADR. I'm not waiting that long again. It was hot and fairly miserable. YMMV.

Okay, FPs are officially in the bag for June 3 arrival. Our AK days are June 4 and 5, and I'm here to tell you that both FoP and NRJ were WIDE open, pretty much any time we wanted. I'm starting to wonder if the response for Pandora may not live up to Disney's expectations? Then again, the offsite 30-day window hasn't opened, and I'd guess that would be the real tell.

I figure you all will understand - On Sunday Morning DH decided to run an update on my computer (even though I asked him not to as I hadn't backed up in a while) - well the computer crashed - like black screen - he worked with apple for hours on Sunday to no avail - I was devastated as our Disney planning itineraries from one 10 trips were on there and all of my hard work for our two week trip this summer on there as well - along with pictures from our last two trips - and it appeared that it was all gone -

fast forward to yesterday - he took it to some IT specialist and for $100 was able to get all of my files extracted and reloaded onto it in one day - now it is all back (and running better then before - but don't tell him that!) - I can't explain how much of a relief it was to get my files back!

anyway - getting closer to FP day as well as a quick weekend trip at the end of the month - so now back to organizing and planning! (and stalking SW dessert parties today)

Happy Wednesday!
