***The Official June 2016 Thread***

Wow, after reading for a while I am caught up on all the posts. Let me say I am quite jealous with everyone being able to do FPs and getting your bands. I am going with a group and the main downside is we do not get the bands until we arrive at the hotel (our youth orchestra is performing on Wednesday morning if you are interested). Is it possible to get FPs once you get there or will they all be gone? I figured since we couldn't do FP I would make dinner reservations. June 6th is Minnie's Hollywood & Vine Dinner and VIP seats for Fantasmic, June 7th is Chip N Dale Harvest Feast Dinner at Garden Grill (the only characters my 17 year old son still admits to enjoying)and the 8th is Sci-Fi Dinner and then Symphony in the Stars Dessert Party. Thrilled that we got the dessert party just yesterday. Swapped this for the Wishes dessert party on another date. Definitely worth the change.

Regarding all the comments on rain. Like I have told my son in the past: rain in Florida is warm (come experience cold rain in Colorado and you will know what I mean). Yes, you get wet but as long as the rides are still going we are at DISNEY WORLD!!! Counting the days and it is less than a week.

Where is your orchestra performing? We will be at MK next Wednesday.

They are performing at the Disney Springs "Waterside Stage" at 11:00 a.m. on June 8th. We should be done by 11:45 as our itinerary shows we are returning by bus at that time back to our hotel.

:flower1:5 days to go!! Finished packing last night, except for my toiletries. DD had dance rehearsal and DS was out doing yard work with DH. It gave me the perfect opportunity to put both suitcases on the bed and double check things. Added the Frogg Toggs, a small travel umbrella and our water shoes to the checked bag just in case. The forecast is improving, but we'll be prepared for anything! 1.5 more days of work! :flower1:

We will be at Hollywood and Vine with Fantasmic on June 6 also! Our reservation is at 4:45.

6 working days and 9 actual days before we arrive!!!

I started packing this past weekend - I have 5 suitcases all laid out in our "kid room" - I'm trying to disperse the shampoos, sunscreen and all those other items that can make my bag go over 50lbs!!

We are bringing a carry-on suitcase with a change of clothes and bathing suits since we'll arrive about 2pm and won't be going to the park that day and you never know how long the 3-5 hr wait will actually take for your luggage to arrive from the MDE!!

This time tomorrow, we'll be about 1/3 of the way there (driving). I normally never care about the forecast because I know it will rain some of the time, but I did notice that on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, that we'll probably be inundated with rain due to some tropical storm. At least it won't be bad weather while we're driving, so that's a positive.

I got most of our clothes packing done last night while my oldest stayed at my parents' house. We leave Friday!!

I heard about the tropical storm too and heard it was supposed to hit S Caro but I wonder if it turned....

4 more days until we leave! 15 hours of drive time plus stops. Fun fun!
The kids have been watching Disney movies and watching Disney World YouTube ride and show videos in preparation. :) They won't watch SDMT because they haven't ridden it and want to experience it first hand. Haha.
We have 2 sinch type backpacks to carry around the parks. We will rotate between the 6 of us who gets to carry them. One has ponchos and the battery operated spray fan. The other has the pressed penny holder/coins, sunscreen, wipes, band aids, epi-pen and Kleenex.
Can't wait!!!

First World problem of the day:

It's June 1st, and TheMouseForLess STILL hasn't posted the June CSR activities calendar! So unfair!

:)

Ladies - do you plan to carry purses? I got a small backpack, but don't know if I should carry a purse, too.

I do one or the other. If I take a purse, it's a large one that I can use to hold everything I need. Otherwise, it's a small backpack and I stick my wallet and phone in it instead.

I plan on my husband carrying the backpack. Now I am thinking I should carry my own purse anyways so my Epi pen will be close and my asthma medication as well.....

Backpack only. And it I thought I could get away with nothing, I wouldn't take anything at all.

I think it's a different one.

On the few resorts I clicked on, they all appear to still be May. Are they usually updated by the 1st?

I carry a very small cross-body bag that holds my phone, ID, money, etc. My husband carries the backpack with everything else.

It's still a big "?" according to the latest update on the weather channel website. I'm on the Adverse Weather Team here at work in Texas, I'm trying to look up more info on it via company provided sites. If anything develops in the Gulf of Mexico, we get updates hourly as we have to go in to a preparation mode here on site. I work in a chemical plant. We have different levels of preparation due to storms and their projected paths at 96 hours expected landfall, 72 hours, 60 hours, etc. I haven't gotten anything yet, so I'm holding out hope it doesn't develop or moves due East!

I will carry a back pack with dry socks for each of us, rain gear, camera, autograph book and my daughter's inhaler. Normally DH is the pack mule, but it's me this trip.

And this came in as soon as I logged in my company email: If I see anything major developing, I'll post an update or PM it to you, if interested.

Wednesday, June 1, 2016The remnants of Bonnie remain very weak off the North Carolina coast. Regeneration is not expected.

An area of disturbed weather may form next week across the northwest Caribbean due to a decrease in pressure and an increase in moisture. The chance of tropical development is estimated at 10 percent over the next seven days.
