***The Official June 2016 Thread***

We are flying and it takes about 2 hrs. 45 min. from Providence, RI to Orlando non-stop. I have to find a book for the flight since we're doing SWA and no movies. :(

Also curious - do you all iron before you pack? I usually do marathon ironing the week before we leave. However, I broke my hand in the fall and it just doesn't work like it used to. So...going to be starting this weekend. I like the pack the underwear with the outfit idea, but I think it would wrinkle the shirts. I try to pack so I don't have any touching up to do when I get there. If need be, I take said shirt into the bathroom when I shower to get the wrinkles out.

We are driving. When we drive straight through it is about 20-24 hours. Depends on how often the kids need to go to the bathroom. This year we are stopping in Georgia over night and then will continue in the morning.

We iron before also, then just do touch-ups as needed each day. I fold complete outfits together neatly and use sheets of paper with park name / date as dividers.

Driving from metro Atlanta...about 7 hours. But we are splitting the drive between Friday night and Saturday morning.

We have a 16 hour drive without stops. It usually takes us about 18 hours with meal/gas/rest stops and we split it over 2 days (actually we do the bulk of the driving on day 1 and then just have a few hours to do on day 2).

Driving. 15 hours. Driving straight through this time, no hotel stop. Leaving on a Sunday, stopping for church, should arrive at the townhouse at 2am! Nothing planned on Monday until Raglan Road at 5:30. :)

Wow - lots of driving here. To me, anything over 6 hours is a plane ride, lol. My sister lives in Vermont - about 4 1/2 hrs. away, and I literally have to drag my husband every 3 or 4 years to go. He loves my sister & BIL, but hates the driving. We got spoiled by too many cruises. Fly and cruise......Not into driving anymore.

Too expensive for us. And with 2 kids under 5 we have to bring so much, it's easier to drive.

Since it is now just the 2 of us, and we had some points, we only had to pay for 1 leg for 1 of us! Yay! And Providence to Florida is just too darn far to drive, for sure. But I can see with little ones in tow that driving might be the best option.

Yes, maybe when they are older we will try to fly. It's like a 45 minute flight from Atlanta! And most of that is waiting in the line to taxi down the runway....

That is like a flight to Baltimore for us. It is so much cheaper to see the Red Sox at Camden Yards, airfare, hotel & all! You barely get your soda, put your tray up and you are there.

I had a friendly recently who drove from here the 2-2.5 hrs to ATL to fly to MCO. Honestly, I thought it was totally crazy. By the time they drove to the airport, waited at security, waited whatever the acceptable amount of time to be early is, got to MCO, got their rental and drove to Uni they could have just driven and been soooo much easier!

For us, our closest airport is 45 minutes away, but the closest big airport is 2-2.5hrs away. Makes more sense to drive to me. Then we can pack more easily and just be much much cheaper. We're estimating about $200 for gas roundtrip. No way we could fly 5 people for anywhere near that!

We are driving from Cincinnati. Takes about 13.5 hours driving, but we will stop at the Florida state line and only have a few hours to drive the next day. We have 4 people and the direct flights out of CVG are running over $400 each. I would rather stay longer at Disney than spend that kind of money on airfare! We also have to visit the in-laws which would require a car rental--more $$$$.
