Have fun and good luck! I got everything I wanted at good times easily (although I didn't need A&E this time).I am at 61 days...tonight is my fast pass night...![]()
That's so cool. Hope we run into each other. I will post pics from AKL for sure.
This is going to be a much needed laid back trip. The other trips I was a park commando and my family has begged for a more relaxed trip. So I have done a ton of behind the scenes planning to appease my commando side and am going to embrace a laid back schedule for the trip.
I know that many are upset with the fast pass system but I love the fact that we can sleep in and swim in the morning and still know that we will get on Soarin' that afternoon![]()
We are all booked for the Frozen Summer Fun Premium Package! Woohoo!
I just called to book my package. They are going to charge me $69 for my 14 year old son. Who obviously can't drink alcohol. I completely understand the pricing structure Disney in place, but it seems like with packages like this, there could be a price bridge for the 9-20 year olds that can't drink the alcohol. but to charge me $34 more for him. We might be skipping this, this year. Or just the DD and I go. And I was really looking forward to this![]()
I never thought about that when I booked our Feel the Force package! Our $15 year old costs the same as my husband and I, however he obviously will not be drinking alcohol. But for us having the parade and fireworks viewing area for our little ones it's worth it. But I do agree having a bridge so you're not paying for the alcohol would be nice. I don't feel like he'll get $30 more worth of food or non-alcoholic drinks than our 5 year old will. I guess we're paying for the experience though.
I also am just starting to follow this thread- can't believe I didn't do it before now.
I too have been planning my and DD's first trip to the world for over a year! We are going June 15-23rd. I actually have been dreaming about it for about a year and half- I didn't think I'd ever be able to swing it (single mom, teacher). But when I found out about putting down a deposit and the ability to slowly pay it off... I was so excited! I wanted to go last summer but figured I needed a year to pay for it and for DD to grow enough to ride most of the rides (she is 4 now).
I am glad to find that I am not the only DisneyGeek- my real life friends & family DO NOT get it at all (I couldn't get anyone to come with us, not even DD's grandparents!!). I've tried to stop talking about it. all. the. time. to anyone who will listen, because they don't care, don't get it, think I'm crazy/obsessed. LOL I think I've totally enjoyed the planning almost as much as I will enjoy the trip... well maybe not THAT much.
I just got to make FP+ ressies last night and even got A&E, which was the top priority of the whole trip- of course (did I mention DD4 is frozen obsessed? She can sing every song perfectly from memory).
Now all's that left is to finish putting together our Disney outfits, make the final payment, pack, and go!
Is it weird that I started packing a couple of weeks ago?
Is anyone else obsessing over what they are going to wear? I was never a matching outfits kind of girl, until now. I find myself purchasing and making matching stuff for me & DD to wear to the world!Who am I?! LOL
I found so many cute things on etsy that I almost blew through my tax return(!) but stopped myself by remembering that I want that money to spend at Disney (we have the DP though, so I will spend mostly on souvenirs)! So I have been finally putting my new sewing machine to use (it was a birthday present from my mom last year). I have made a bunch of matching mickey/Minnie silhouette T-shirts with handmade appliques and then a couple of skirts for my DD that match our T-shirts.
I am also making her autograph/memory book- I bought a high quality paper sketch book and am doing character drawings on each page. There is plenty of room for autographs and to add photos later. I wanted something that won't get thrown in a drawer and forgotten after the trip.
So, yeah, I guess I am a little obsessed! LOLMy friends and family don't even know the half of it! I am worried about what I am going to do with myself once the trip is over?...
I just have to say I LOVE the pics in your signature!! especially the hammock one-(at Poly Beach?) and the one with both the big kid and lil oneAnother single mom here and even when I wasn't....our trips have only been myself and my girl/s. We've always had a blast.
My family does not get my enthusiasm for all things Disney either. I've found friends in my area and also online to be able to obsess with. It's Sooooo much fun!!
Ever since my little was born we have tried to find outfit themes since matching became hard with girls nearly 16 years apart. Since my big (18 this trip...celebrating graduation) refuses to let me dress her anymore (I have no idea why?!....lol) I mainly focus on the super cute outfits for the little (almost 3 this trip). I have ordered so much stuff it's not funny. We are doing a couple of theme days though. Our SWW day we all have Storm Trooper themed shirts and for one of our MK days we all have pink Cheshire cat shirts.
I hope ya'll have a truly magical trip!! Too bad our vacation days do not overlap...it would have been fun to have our little ones meet one another.

Thanks! I thought my enthusiasm would wane during a whole year+ of planning, but not so! I've been bitten by the Disney bug. Never saw that coming!SparkleMommy, your enthusiasm is infectious. There is nothing like the joy of planning a Disney trip. I am a single Mom and one of my best trips is the one that was just me and my son. You will have a fabulous time.
