Hey all you Junies! Hope everyone is having a great time packing & planning & of course, being at Disney! Our trip is almost 2 weeks past:sad1:, but today we're getting a Disney fix by going to DTD! We have one day left on our 7 day tickets & were planning on going back to HS to get in all that we missed on our late start 1st day. Then I did some math & figured we could convert our 7 day tickets to FL resident seasonal passes for about $10 more each :yay::yay:It blacks out the rest of summer but we can do day trips or weekends for Food & Wine, Xmas decorations, Osbourne Lights, the kids birthdays, Flower & Garden! Very psyched!

mrssmith06: Just gotta ask, since you arrived the day we left & had the same room requests (Toy Story 2 adjoining) did you get your preferred accommodations? We were in rooms 960 & 961, 3rd floor, around the corner from the elevators & just off Andy's room!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Having 2 rooms was great, didn't feel cramped at all with 6 of us. DS loved going out the Andy's room door every time we left. DD's said it was OK but could we go back to a "nice" hotel, like AK, next time? Teenagers:sad2:!

BTW, is it just a coincidence that you share the same name as Jan Brady's fake boyfriend? :happytv:

Thats me, Jan's old fake squeeze....

I didnt think Fatty McButterpants or Yelnick McWaWa would go over well so I came up with a monicker that was easy on the ears and eyes

LOL.

BTW, Junies, I don't know that I've seen anyone mention it here, but according to Disney, they will be doing Fantasmic! every night now through sometime in September/October. I myself am a little disappointed (and got flamed for it) because I was looking forward to seeing what DHS was like on a non F! night. Plus, I wanted to see all the different characters that they bring out in the Animation Building on those nights too.

I got back from Disney on the 14th and had a wonderful, first Disneyworld vacation!!!

My daughter, who is 2.5 yrs. old, had a magical time. I cried when she met Princess Tianna and Prince Naveen. They danced with her and really took a good bit of time with her because she was clearly in awe. She met and got the autographs of many characters and I look forward to going back many more times so that she can get even more autographs in her custom autograph book.

During our stay, we did all 4 theme parks and both waterparks. Needless to say, we were extremely exhausted and sad, but glad to return home.

The pictures of the treehouse villas doesn't do them any justice. I was really surprised at how spacious they are. I'd read a lot of complaints about the buses and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised that transportation was as efficient as it were while we were there. The buses from the treehouses to Saratoga Springs ran every 10 minutes like clock work. Transferring to another bus was about another 5 - 20 minute wait, but nothing to get my panties in a bunch about. I'll definitely be staying there again at some point and am seriously considering becoming a DVC member, but i'll have to check out the others first.

I am still on a Disney "high". I won't be returning next year as my family is already working on a cruise, but will definitely be returning soon and am looking forward to the next trip because now I have my Disney feet wet!!!

To all who are leaving soon or later in June.... have a magical :wizard: Disneyworld vacation!!!!

Toodles,
NVSNOT

Just back from our trip. Had a blast!

We stayed at the Poly from the 7th to the 15th--loved it, especially evenings spent on the beach watching the movie and roasting marshmellows until the fireworks.

We met TONS of really nice people and even a few infamous pool hoppers. (One boy to my husband, "So, what hotel are you from?") People were especially kind on the days I had our 18-month-old while my husband and 6-year-old went on the rides. I was very grateful for the help they offered as I tried to get her, our bags, and the stroller on the buses.

The weather was great! The weather's been pretty cool in Utah, so high temps and humidity were perfect for me.

Star Wars Weekends was a blast, and we didn't have to do the Toy Story Mania rush because of the earlier than posted park opening. The Wishes Dessert Buffet was awesome! I loved having a spot saved and food to eat.

We probably won't go back for a few years, which is fine by me because it keeps it feeling new each time. I need to go post to the photo safari although I can only fill a few spots since we didn't even go to Animal Kingdom and some pictures didn't come out so great. But hey! I tried.

All in all, a great trip. I hope everyone else has as fun as we did.

We are supposed to leave on Sunday for our Disney trip and now I am not sure it will work out. For months my boss has been telling me that he can "float" me the paycheck I would get while away could be coming to me today so that we have it ahead of time. Never count on money I guess that you don't have. This morning instead of handing me my check he told me that he can't do that because he miscounted the money and we are not going to have enough in the account for him to do a check early. That was over $700 that we hav budgeted for our travel expenses, gas and so on that we don't have personally on us. I'm not sure what we are going to do. I am so mad and feel so used. I need a miracle between now and tomorrow when I will have to cancel the trip.

Oh no!!!! Do you have any meals that you made ADRs for that you could cancel? While you still have to eat, you could get by for cheaper. Are you on one of the dining plans? Can you downgrade? I'll be sending some extra prayers and hope for pixie dust your way.

Well my TA agent called today and said the documents arrived today! Yay! She is overnighting them to us or by now has sent them out. We have the tracking number and everything. I am so glad but will be more happy when we have everything in our hands. Disney even sent our $25 gift card that we were supposed to receive at check- in just to make sure that all bases were covered. Today was our last with kids at school. My grades are done. My room is 90% packed. Tomorrow should be a short day. I can't wait to start packing and then next week were are on our way! YAY!

I'm so glad that we didn't have to pack up this summer. I cleaned off my desk and put a few other things away but that was it. The next couple of summers may be difficult though because our stakeholders just passed a bond and there will be some construction at our campus.

We didn't have any requests put in, we just reserved a preferred room and got Toy Story by chance, yay! :goodvibes And we only had 1 room (#726), it was just 4 of us on this trip since DSS wasn't able to go with us this summer due to other vacation plans he had with his mom ;) He will be with us next trip, hopefully in 2012 and we will have to look into either getting 2 value rooms or something else like POR. :)

Omg....leaving Sunday!!! Tuesday night....dinner at Victoria and Alberts Chef Table....gonna make turning 40 a little nicer. :)

:cool1: YAY! Though we really haven't gotten ourselves completely organized here, we're both acting like kids! Which is unusual for DD since she's generally so serious, but hey, Disney bound in 21 hours!
Oh, and we're going to try, key word: try, to do a live update via Twitter, but who knows if we'll remember to update it. If not, we will try to do updates here. (:
Thanks Junies for keeping our spirits up even when we all had 100+ days to go!

I think everyone asks like a kid on the way to Disney. I started packing DD and DS's suitcases tonight. I have most of their clothes in there, but I still have little things to put in there. I can't pack mine until next week when I do laundry right before the trip. :laundy: I don't have enough shorts to pack now. I hope you have a great trip. Can't wait to hear about it when you get back.

Got back yesterday. Came home to a burst pipe in our basement so for all those who are leaving soon, TURN OFF YOUR WATER before you go. It doesn't hurt, I learned the hard way.

But otherwise, we had a great trip. The weather was perfect, just rained one day for us and we were at Kennedy Space Center indoors so we didn't get wet. It was hot and the mister fan was the best thing ever invented. We stayed at the Poly and I loved it, beautiful. So great for going to the Magic Kingdom. We spent a couple of days in the park in the afternoon and then I couldn't take it anymore so we came back to use the pool and went back in the evenings.

Best piece of advice is to go when the park opens. We rode Splash Mountain and Thundermountain twice within an hour and got fastpasses for the evening. I have to thank everyone on this board who posted that DHS opens early on SWW, we went on Friday and was there at 8 just as they were opening the park. We got fastpasses for TSM, signed the kids up for Jedi Academy and then walked onto Star tours and RNR and a 5 minute wait for TOT. Awesome, we took the rest of the day to stroll and pop into the less busy attractions. We didn't really do the characters too much as the kids did not want to wait on line in the heat.

Overall, great trip and going in June is totally doable if you have a plan. Thanks everyone for your advice and opinions on helping make this a great trip! Best wishes to those who are on their way! :wizard:
