Didn't see a car rental thread for June 2010 yet.

We are going in late June and are looking for a 12 day minivan rental. Best we could find so far is with Dollar $295/week and 5 extra days @ $59/day (Est Grand Total $740).

Has anyone found anything better?

how late? dates?princess:

can you use a std suv that holds 5?

alamo std suv 613.00 June 21- July 2

We need the reservation from 6/17 to 6/28. We have 4 adults with 4 large suitcases and 4 carry ons. Wasn't sure if a standard SUV could accommodate us. Any idea?

Would be so happy if we could go the SUV route.:)

we went the suv last trip with 4 a 1 ch (8).
Standard SUV
4-Door/Automatic/Air

Chevrolet TrailBlazer
or similar
4ad 1ch 4lg bags 3 sm bags

the best rates I've found to date are with Alamo (their Visa cardholder rates):

7014615/AD7937SDJ

but, then again, we're renting a car - not a van.

Thanks for your help. Let's hope rates come down a bit. Has anyone used KAYAK to monitor car rental rates? We have used it for monitoring airfare rates and it was great.

Any experience with a Grand Cherokee Laredo? Can it hold 4 adults, 4 large suitcases and 4 carryons? That is Dollar's Standard SUV equivalent.

Haven't tried too hard yet but have already booked and cancelled, booked and cancelled, etc.! Right now I've got a mid size reserved through Budget with the Costco code and I believe a $25 coupon. Its $335 (so $310 w/coupon) I believe for June 2nd-13th. Hoping we'll go lower or at least get a full size for the same price. Rates should start lowering as June gets closer.

Usually we go with Budget, Dollar or Avis...I refuse to EVER give Alamo my business again. We had a really BAD experience with them wayback in 1999 and we've never booked with them again and won't. I'll pay more elsewhere before I give them my business. :sad2:

I check rates at least once per day. :)

Thanks. A great code can bring down the price quite a bit. More $ to spend on fun vacation things.

Rented at Budget
june 2 - 9, for 476 total for mini-van using codes:cool1::cool1:

Actually using BCD x474200 and coupon MUWZ023 for $25.00 off the total upon checkout once coupon is applied is $273.13.

I actually posted wrong dates. It's June 1-9th. Still get the same rate I originally came up. I posted the grand total inc taxed etc if that matters. Not sure if I did something wrong. Thanks for helping!!!

I get $328.13 including taxes after $25.00 coupon is applied at checkout. You might be entering something wrong. Under Budget BCD enter x474200 and then under Coupon Number MUWZ023 for $25.00 off.

The BCD code works great. I've read online it is a Travelocity code but the above link takes me to Costco travel.

Also, do you need to print out the ecoupon or is it just like a code for the coupon category.

Thanks .
