*** The Official July 2014 thread, join us won't you? ***

Thanks for the info! I called and got a reservation! Now I am wondering if I can use the dining plan since I called them directly? If not I will pay out of pocket.

I saw someone posted in the dinning reservation threads that they made a reservation directly with T-Rex and used the dining plan without any problem last August. You should be fine. After all people can dine as a walk up customer and still use the dinning plan.

Just reporting that I made all of our ADR's this morning online through MDE right at 6:00 and it went off without a hitch! I was also able to get everything my group wanted, including an early dinner at Be Our Guest....my girls are hoping since it's early, they can ask to sit in the West Wing! Exciting stuff! :-)

Yay!! Glad to hear that you got all of your ADR's!! We did too this year... and I'm a bit surprised because I thought that some would've been hard to get but we got everything! I need to organize mine to post them this weekend. :yay:

Making my ADRs as I type this! We don't usually make many, but you better believe I was up at 6 just to be sure :) I can't do BOG lunch until we're within our FP window, right?

:offtopic:

Midori and Team started their Basketball Season last week!! The are 2 -0 :cheer2: Go Team Go!! Midori scored 22 points 1st game and 16 last night. This is the last year for all of the girls to play sports together. Next year, a few of them are going to attend other high schools. The Girls have been together since Kinder.

Have a Great Day Friends..:goodvibes

Way to go Midori and team!:goodvibes

My son has been with some kids in his 5th grade class since kinder as well. And it makes me sad (a little) that we may be moving away next year.

Man! I'm glad I got up early to do our ADRs! I really hesitated since we were only making 3 and we weren't interested in BOG dinner or the dessert party (which seem to be the two hardest things to get.) We got everything we wanted for the exact times we wanted. I just checked at around 10:00 and everything for all three places we booked was completely sold out for the times of day we booked and two of them were booked at that time of day for the whole week of our trip! Crazy! I have to say thanks to the DIS. If it weren't for these boards our trips wouldn't be as amazing as they always are :goodvibes My family loves that I always know what to do and when to do it so we can get things reserved/get discounts/etc... :thumbsup2

It's funny, isn't it?? My family laughs at my Dis obsession, but is always amazed when they hear that others didn't know, or weren't able to get, the things we've done and seen.

I know!! I was totally laughed at for getting up at 6am on my day off (although I normally have to get up at 5, so that was sleeping in for me :rotfl:) After I told them that I checked at 10 and everything was gone they were SUPER glad I took one for the team and got up early to book everything ;)

Our first family trip in 2008, I got us a diver and personalized menus at the Coral Reef (both have since been discontinued.)

I found out about Garden Grocer, Misty Mate Misters, Teva Mush and Baggalini.

I learned fastpass strategies.

I've never NOT gotten the ADRs I've wanted. My secret (??) is that I put the harder to get ones at the tail end of our trip, when fewer people have had access to the dates.

I learned about Rope Drop.

My husband and kids think I'm some sort of a Disney savant. They don't realize that I'm just on the Disboards, paying attention.

Ok, so, that's not really true. I have some what of a plan. My plan is to RD.
E.T.W.B....do what we want in Fantasyland. Ride one headliner and FP+the others for later in the day.

The date we wanted didn't open up until about a month before. Basically they had one day when they opened all the November dates and one day when they opened all the December dates. It may have changed since then, but don't be alarmed if you get to 60 days and it's not available, just keep checking!! :)

We were able to get a FP for BOG lunch for our upcoming trip but it didn't become available until a little over a month ago... it is currently separate from the FP+ system. I'm wondering if that will still be the case in July... that's why we got a dinner just in case!

It nice to see you again Aliceacc.

What is going to be your strategy with the FP+? I got nothin':confused3

Honestly, I'm simply not up to that. My school is going to IPads-- at least with the freshmen-- next year, so there's been lots of time concentrating on that instead of playing with Disney ideas.

I do have tentative ADRs lined up-- they can go in on the 30th.

Beyond that, I'll wait and see what I come up with. I suspect well do the Standby lines at rope drop each day, then book FP's for late morning/ pre and post lunch.

I was wondering what everyone was doing about FP+ and hopping? We never park hopped before... we always went to RD and used our FPs at night but now I am wondering if we should go to RD and either book our FP+ for the same park (just for the headliners that we would not ride at RD) or should we hop to a different park and book FP+ for there to mix things up...

We have not booked our trip yet, but I think we are going July 22nd. We are not doing the dining plan this time so ADR's are not a concern... I just need to get this FP+ figured out (like everyone!!!) This is stressing me out...

Hi everyone!! So sorry I've been MIA for so long. I've been so busy at work the last couple of months it's been crazy. Right now, the show I run is full swing into rehearsals and we are just 20 days from opening night! We're also doing something new this year...the winner of our competition is going to compete against the winners of the same competition from two other brooklyn high schools, at the beginning of March. All proceeds are going to the American Cancer Society! For those who don't know me, I teach Italian at a Brooklyn, New York high school but I also run a show there called SING!, which is a competition between two teams (in some schools, three teams) separated by grade (we have seniors team up with freshmen vs. juniors teamed up with sophomores). The students write, direct and perform their own musicals with original scripts. They use existing songs but they write their own lyrics and they have a live band play the songs. They build and design their own sets and they design and make their own costumes. It's an amazing experience for our students. So I've been very busy with that, as well as teaching in general and also family of course. On December 31st my sister gave birth to a beautiful, healthy baby boy! So, very busy but all good things!

Tuesday our 180-day ADR window opens up. I'm so excited to book everything!

I hope everyone is doing well! :)

Hello to Midori as well!

I had a nephew, not a niece...I already have two nieces that I enjoy spoiling! ;)
I am looking forward to a boy I could spoil as well! My sons are very excited to have a new boy in the family.

Thanks for your kind words about my show. The students have been doing a beautiful job thus far. Every time I go into a rehearsal room, it seems as though they are ahead of where they need to be at this stage of the game. Keeping my fingers crossed it stays that way. We already lost 2 hours of rehearsal time due to a snow day a couple of weeks ago. Hoping we don't lose any more!
