What time can we start making ADRs? :confused3 My window opens on Jan. 15. Last time my TA did it for us, but this time I don't have a TA so it is up to me!

I think its 6am online and 7am on the phone (both Eastern time.)

I called to book my ADRs and the lady told me the restaurants at Epcot had not released there availability to book for July 4th (other than Le Cellier)
She told me to keep trying everyday.

Interesting... I will try again. You never know!

Hi, All!

I have to avoid this forum when not planning a trip, but with a trip finally being planned again this year. I am back! :cool1:

Our trip will straddle the end of June beginning of July. I need my husband to pick the dates. I do know we will be staying at POFQ.

I look forward to chatting it up! :)

I haven't posted on this thread in a couple of months. Fall is very busy for me, and with the holiday season, there hasn't been a lot of time. :santa:

I have been checking in on everyone to see how the plans have been coming, and it looks like everyone has been busy. :thumbsup2

As I settled in tonight, trying to watch the first season of "The Wire" and casually browsing the internet. I made one last check with RCI before I went to bed and what to my wondering eyes should appear, but 7 DVC resorts available for my week. :cloud9:

So I tried to get Beach Club, as was my plan, but someone must have beat me to it. So plan B went into effect, and we booked BWV from 7/30-8/3.

ADRs to follow soon.

A little before 6am that morning for online adrs.

Ok here are my thoughts on these 2 places. Please keep in mind that this is only my humble opinion. I love 50's Prime Time Café. I love the kitch and home style warmth and fun. I am not a big fan of the menu at Sci Fi. I like the theme and atmosphere, just not the food. At 50's, I like it all. I also like the antics that sometimes go on. (our last visit had no antics at all) I love the comfort food that they do really well. I always feel like I have just sat down at my Grandma's kitchen to have a meal. (if you like that sort of thing, you would probably like that place).

Now, if you ask my DH, he would probably pick Sci-Fi atmosphere and desserts. He is ok with the food and can always find something to eat.

I'm leaning towards 50's, it just makes me a little nervous. Our DS15 is very shy and I worry about how he'll deal with the interaction. He won't freak out or anything, I just don't want him to not enjoy his meal.

:welcome: to our group and so very happy that you can plan!!! :worship: so now you can have fun planning away! When you pick your dates let me know and I will officially get you on the front page.

:dance3: So happy you got at least your second choice! That is awesome. I will update the front page for you. Can't wait to see your ADR's too.

I just told them when we checked in that we needed someone who isn't over the top. We asked for someone that slightly more easy going (of course we got the one who did nothing, but it was ok at that point in our vacation). I say give it a try if you really want to and ask when you check in if there is someone who isn't over the top.

So it looks like we have finally decided on a resort - Beach Club Villa 1 bedroom! I'm really excited about this... a bit nervous as we are going to be trying something totally new... we have gotten a bit spoiled with CL and staying at the Poly for the last few trips... but BC looks amazing and we love all of the things to do in walking distance from the resort. We know that DD3 will LOVE the SAB and we are excited for the extra space and w/d in the villa. But... I am a bit nervous! I'll be planning a bit differently for this trip and ordering from Garden Grocer for the first time. We are going to have AP by then so that is different... and staying at an Epcot resort will be very different! But it will be an amazing trip ... I just know it!

This gets me thinking... what are you doing differently on your July trip than on other trips before? Or... if this is your first trip, what are you most looking forward to?

Something different we are doing will be staying at AKL. I am nervous that I won't like it BECAUSE we have stayed at the resorts on the monorail loop. I LOVE watching wishes, and the water parade every night from the beach.

We are trying POR for the first time since our honeymoon 12 years ago. We have been staying deluxes for so long that I am afraid I will be disappointed, but we wanted to save money this year. Really enjoyed having bunk beds at AKL for the kids. We also love that the hotel is confined to inside and you can walk to the lobby, restaurants, etc. inside especially in the heat of the summer. We still get three nights at the end at AKL (which we LOVE by the way). Will see if a discount comes out...May have to switch again. Hahaha!

We are also trying HDDR. I haven't been there since I was 8 years old. Really wanted to try something new. We try to do at least one new thing per trip. Still trying to think of some more.

Kids and Dh are really excited.

That's how my mom is. We tried 50s on our last trip and were a little nervous, but she really wanted to try it because she grew up in the 50s and really wanted to enjoy the theming. We got someone VERY low key and it went fine :) Like another poster mentioned...maybe just let them know that you need someone not over the top.

Our something different this year will be

1. Dining at a signature restaurant. DF's birthday is during our trip. He's a huge meat eater so I figure Yachtman Steakhouse will be a big hit.

2. Using one of the kid clubs. I've never done this before but figure we'll enroll his girls for few hours while we enjoy the birthday dinner.

3.Spending time off site.:furious:

Joining the July thread! We willl be going July 6-17 Aoa LM Room!! Can't wait!!

I'm nervous about missing the same things!! But I think we will both find plenty of things to do that we will love!

We are trying Yachtsman Steakhouse as well on our July trip in combination with the kids club. Since having DD3 we haven't taken a "date" while at Disney!

Our something different this year will be going in the summer and staying at POFQ. We have always gone in the cooler months so this will be the first time with the heat, crowds, and midday breaks. We only have 4 park days so I am having a very hard time trying to plan my days to fit everything in and take breaks.

It has always worked out that we have stayed at a different resort on each of our trips. We stayed at POR on our last trip and I wanted to stay there for this one but I could not get a military discount on a standard room so we are at POFQ. At first I was very disappointed but now I am looking forward to being at a smaller resort and close to the food court and everything. We can still go over to POR to eat, swim, and for activities if we want.

We are doing a few things differently this trip. Some of them we have done before, but not for a very long time.

1) We are driving down. We haven't done that in 9 or 10 years. Well at least we don't have any bottles or diapers to worry about this time. :rotfl:

2) We are NOT doing the dining plan this time. We have always used the plan and sometimes the deluxe dining plan 2 times. We have found that we don't eat as much in the summer heat. This way, without the plan, we don't feel forced to use credits or eat so much food. If I don't feel like having an entrée because I am not that hungry but others in my party are, I can just get an appetizer that would fill me up and cost less.

3) We will be spending and ENTIRE day off property and with family for a party. I am excited about this! But I do believe that 1 full day will be enough. The few other meals that we will have with my mom and dad will be good.

4) For the first time since having kids, my husband and I will have an entire day in a Disney Park without them! My parents are keeping the kids and taking them to Gatorworld and their pool with my niece. My DH and I will do a day at Epcot with just us and a celebration anniversary dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse to cap it off. Can't wait for this day. :woohoo:

This trip will be our 2nd time eating at Yachtsman Steakhouse. We ate there on our last trip for the first time there and our first time ever at a signature restaurant. It was fantastic. My DH and I love steaks and he had the porterhouse and I had the filet mignon. Have you ever heard someone say it melted in your mouth or you could cut it with a fork? I experienced both that night. It is by far THE BEST steak I have ever eaten, and I am not normally a filet mignon fan. I wanted small because I was full for that entire trip (deluxe dining plan) but I ate that whole thing because it was too good to waste. I sincerely hope you all enjoy it as much as we did that time and as much as I think we will this time! Bon Appetit!
