*** The Official July 2014 thread, join us won't you? ***

Angalee - So glad you and your Family had a Super Great Disney Trip. WOW!!!!! Disney and the Beach next year? How awesome... We'll miss you guys, check on us and make new friends on the June thread..:goodvibes

Happy to hear about Midori's tournament even though it was 2nd place. Her team still did an awesome job!

I already went to the June thread and introduced myself. Some of the people I went with three years ago in 2011 when we had to go in June so there are some familiar name.

Hiiiiiiiiiii :) so nice to see your update. Sounds AMAZING. My ds13 just joined the drama club which caught me so off guard (he plays basketball). He is interested in the behind the scenes sort of thing. Sounds like you are not just busy but CRAZY busy. As if home stuff and a regular job is not enough you really go above and beyond the norm. So exciting though.
My job seems so pointless after seeing all the teachers on here. I'm in retail, beauty department manager so it's fun (free lotions & potions so I never age) ;) But, I certainly don't impact childrens lives as you all do.... But, it pays the bills!
I'm still debating the 1st or 2cnd week in July... And want to put down my down payment next Friday so I better make up my mind. ~ how is your sister doing (I believe you mentioned she is expecting?) can't believe Thanksgiving is next month!!!!!!!!!
:)

Hi!! My sister is doing great! Her due date is January 21st and we're all very excited. My mom and I have already bought so much for him...yes, she is having a boy, in case I didn't mention that weeks ago! So this will be her first boy. My nieces are very excited and of course my sons are thrilled! But most importantly, everything is going very well with the pregnancy.

Yes I'm crazy busy but it's a good busy. It does feel smothering at times but it's also what I love to do, and when I see how excited the students get for these events, it makes it all worth it. Thanks for the wonderful compliment! I think it's awesome what you do as well. You must make a lot of people happy with the results they get! That's worth a lot as well. :thumbsup2
Not to mention how much you do for your own children! That in itself is priceless! :)

DH also found out earlier this week that he's getting a lacrosse team added to his repertoire of sports teams at his school (he started the sports program in the Fall of 2011, the first time ever in his school's 42 years of existence at the time!). He will be coaching the lacrosse team so he is very excited about that. He played lacrosse all four years of high school. He's already promoting it at his school and a lot of kids are interested.

So a lot going on here. I can't believe Halloween is Thursday! The boys went with a Star Wars theme, as Darth Vader and General Grievous. I'm going as Alice in Wonderland. DH has a couple of costumes and he will decide that day whether he'll wear any of them when we take the kids trick or treating.

That's about it for now. Hope everyone is doing well!

Hey guys.

Just wanted to do a quick intro since I don't seem to see a lot of names I remember. Maybe I'm just tired lol

I'm an art education specialist. I tought in high school from 2006 until last year. Now I'm trying out elementary school and I'm also giving French classes to adults who speak english but want better french conversation skills. This year is tough. It's not where I thought my life was heading. Getting tenure is not coming by easy. So I'm seeing it as a transition year into maybe new and better things.

I'm a frequent July flyer with my parents. It's our vacations where we reconnect as a family. I got the Disney bug when my parents brought me on their first trip to WDW when I was 2. Since then I've been to wdw 16 times. I haven't really started planning yet, but will share my plans when I do start to iron out the details.

OMG :lmao: can't believe you don't remember us.. :rotfl2:

As you can see by my whining on my ticker, we may be July trip people. If all the stars align, send us some pixie dust won't you?!?!pixiedust:
There would be four families coming together, (augh):faint:, and the grandparents will be at the helm of the three brothers grimm:crowded:. But I will be doing the updates if and when i get to start a pre-trippie.
We will stay at Contemporary, as that is grandpa's favorite, even though dh and I tried to tempt them to consider AKL, even club level. But nope. Our little family tends to go commando, from rope drop, to gate close. Not everyone else sees the value in EMH, especially the AM ones, so we end up on our own a lot. (not a bad thing)
Just wanted to get in here and say Hi, and hopefully get some dates confirmed over Thanksgiving at grandma's table so we can really get into the planning.
so HI!:wave2:

and by the way HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Hi everyone! I haven't fallen off the face of the earth. Just really swamped at work. Last week we chose student producers for the show I run, and this Thursday and Friday those producers choose their leaders (directors, choreographers, etc.). I also have been busy planning the first ever 3-school competition of SING! between my school and 2 others' winning teams. For those who don't know, SING! is a NYC high school tradition that began in 1947 where student teams, divided by grade, write, produce, direct and perform their own musical, with faculty and alumni as judges. In my school seniors and freshmen team up against juniors and sophomores, and I oversee the production with a wonderful team of faculty advisors to help out. It's a lot of work but I really love it. All the proceeds from the bigger competition among the schools are going to the American Cancer Society so that makes all of us very proud to be a part of it. This is all in addition to teaching 5 Italian classes with 34 students per class! Lucky for me I truly love what I do!

So I haven't been doing disney planning lately. Things should calm down in a couple of weeks so I should be back on here. Of course you never know. But I do miss all my buddies here, and I'm still thinking about WDW even though there's currently no time to devote to planning. I hope everyone is doing well and promise to catch up as soon as I can!

SING!!!!

I went to Edward R. Murrow. Since we didn't have sports, SING and school plays were a big deal there.

I never took part in SING, but I still remember the year long excitement around it.

:welcome: to our growing, happy, fun loving group! Here is wishing you some pixie on all the planets aligning to make your magic happen for you and your whole family. While you are with us, feel free to share your Disney love story or anything you would like. We will help with any questions we can. When you do get your dates, let me know and I will add you to the front page officially. So, again, welcome!

Thank you for the warm welcome~

we are Disney lovers, my husband is the youngest of three boys, my in-laws who are orchestrating this family trip are likers, the middle brothers family are ok with it, but not over the top, and the oldest brother is the hold out. he is certain his tween son will not enjoy it, and he himself does not want to go at all, and we haven't heard the story of what his wife says...but the grandparents want a family vacation - so I am holding out hope that they will choose Disney and let the brothers decide if they want to come along or not

I went to disney, I think, twice as a child. Then my dh and I had a Disneymoon, and have been a total of five times over the years. With my family twice, his once, and on our own twice. We think. It was before I found the DIS, so I don't have trippie reports to rely on.

I know my favorite resort is the Wilderness Lodge, where we stayed on our Disneymoon, and then Shades of Green second for the size of the rooms. We have stayed off-site, and at POP, and most recently at the Contemporary. Which is where we will stay again if this trip happens.

I hope that we can schedule some DISmeets if we get down there, and it looks like there will be several families there at the same time!!!!

Hello! I would like to hope on board.

It's official. Honeymoon at Disney's Coronado Springs resort is booked for June 29th, 2014 to July 16th 2014. 235 days until the wedding and 237 until the honeymoon. We have lots of planning to keep us busy until then. I assume it will creep up quickly.

Hiiiii :) gosh so much to catch up on here. Sounds like your family was super cute for halloween! My twins said they were too old for trick or treating and rather stay home to watch scary movies :( but my ds10 dressed up as a swamp monster. It was my first Halloween off in 10 yrs so I enjoyed the whole thing! I stole all his 3 muskateers & was very disappointed to see no junior mints.
Hope your sister is doing well!!!!! A new baby is so exciting. I can't believe thanksgiving is in a few weeks. I bought my boys an Xbox360 and will give it to them that night :)
Still have not put a deposit down for the trip. I'm undecided on the week and the resort.... Still! I've even considered postponing the trip since the boys all move on to high school and middle school, we might need the $$$ for something else. Was considering maybe 4 or 5 days in Maine or the Cape instead..... But I really would love to do WDW (I think more than my boys even)
** the big decision in our house now is Public High School or the Vocational School next year.
Gosh it's not easy being a parent!
HOPE EVERYONE IS DOING WELL :)

:welcome: to our group! I got you added to our front page already. I see you a dis veteran already, but if you have any questions, we would be happy to answer any we can. Congrats on the upcoming wedding. Hope all your planning goes well. It seems like such a long time ago that my DH and I had our Disneymoon (they didn't even call it that back then) I wish I could have gotten married at Disney World, but I will just have to settle for my 20th anniversary trip and some time to myself with my DH and no kids for one day!

My ADR window opens up Dec 31st 2013 for my Vacation. I was hoping to book my ADRs that morning if I can spare some time at work. I was thinking of using the My Disney Experience app to do so. Has anybody else used the app to book dining reservations? Is that a good idea or should I try something else?
