Squee! Just personalized the magic bands!! I went on this morning at 6am and still the same grey but then at 11:30 my mom came over and I was going to show her the same thing. But then, there were colors! :banana:

Now if my tickets would get here, then I could link them too!

(Anyone else frightened of the threads on the Theme Park Attractions and Strategies board? All that negativity about FP+ makes me nervous!)

Where exactly did you click to see it?

I go to my reservations and it says we all have 9 day tickets. Then when I click on each person in the party it says "This person has 0 tickets and 0 magic bands" ?

On the drop down menu for My Disney Experience click on MagicBands and Cards. There will be a button to click when you can customize.
 
I can choose our colors for MagicBands!:yay:

Me - Pink or Green
DH - Green
DS - Green
DD - Pink

The kids were easy to choose colors as green and pink are their favorites. I was going to give blue to DH and green to me, but DH sees me picking colors and says he wants green. Now I'm looking at the bands seeing 3 green and 1 pink and even though I don't really care for pink I'm thinking of switching to it so I can even-up the colors. Why oh why am I thinking so hard about something so trivial!
I'm sure we'll end up getting a skin and some doodads for them anyway.

Super jealous of everyone and their magic bands! We're staying off property for this trip so we won't be getting them. :sad1:
 
I'm really wondering how the magic bands will work with my AP voucher. Has anyone heard anything about that? My daughter has an active AP so I have a feeling it's going to be all sorts of confusing.....
 
We are heading down for our 7th stay at the Dolphin. Usually buy tickets online or at the desk in the hotel. What should we do this trip with all this hoopla with magic bands and FP +?. I have not been following along since i was busy getting DD ready for London semester and our trip to Disneyland Paris. Now what do I do?! :-) "SingingMom" ....Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

No luck for Dolphin at this point for MB. No word if FP+ will be available for offsite guests including Dolphin in Jan. No word if Legacy FP will still be around. Sorry to be the bearer of such news. I am holding a 35% off RO at BC in addition to Dolphin right now that's equal in price. Dolphin may go down, but in the meantime I'm going to order tickets from WDW separate from my RO reservation so I can proceed with MB and FP+. If Dolphin price comes down considerably I will have my tickets but likely have to forfeit the MB and FP+. 3 months away and I wish I knew all the unknowns!
 
I'm trying not to stress out over the fact that I don't even have magic bands showing up on my page yet, at 77 days out. At what point should I start freaking out and call about it?
 
Hi everyone! I made it to double digits! 99 days till Disney! Congrats to everyone that was able to customize their magic bands! So exciting!!!

I hope FoTLK doesn't close! That's my favorite show in all of Disney and I was really looking forward to having everyone else in our group see it. I'm going the end of January so maybe it'll be in it's new location by then. (Fingers crossed)

Anyone have any info on magic bands and photopass shares? Last share we just all used the cards and didn't use the magic bands at all for photopass, just to be safe. This time we're going as a group and would all like to use the photopass as a group.... Like a share except we really are one big group with linked reservations. I wonder how it'll work for us.

By January, off-site guests might have access to MBs. No one knows for sure.
 
I saw on another thread that one of the CMs that posts here had seen it was being closed. It is still a rumor, but one that was substantiated by a reliable source on the boards. I read it is closed starting the 5th, which is naturally our AK day. :sad2: Less and less for my two kids to do at AK. They aren't tall enough for the big rides there and would be too scared for DINOSAUR. I hope the Finding Nemo show, Flights of Wonder and safari are enough...I might be switching to Park Hoppers after all...

ETA: I do believe the rumor because FOTLK is definitely moving locations, so it would make sense that they would close it while doing construction, etc.

I completely agree with there not being enough to do at DAK for our kids. Any word on when the relocation will open back up for FOTLK?

You have to link your AP to your reservations, at least that is what I have read.

Nothing about FP+ makes me nervous. I have more reservation about glitches and RFID problems than with FP+.

The week I am going, I won't need more than 3 FPs a day, so even if they take away FP- by then, it won't be that big of a deal for us.

The fact that I can go to Animal Kingdom in the morning, then hop over the Hollywood and still be able to do Toy Story is a plus in my book, not a minus.

If they announce that FP- is going away and FP+ is all you have and you aren't able to customize by then, give them a call. If not, there is really no need to get flustered.

Things will almost be just like the last time you went except the card you use will look and work differently.

You'll still have access to FP-.

At this point, the ONLY thing that kinda worries me is agreeing to MB testing, then not having access to FP-, but again, for us I don't think that matters.

I can only suggest that if you MUST have FP-, I would be slightly skeptical about having the ability to use both in January.

At some point, the double dipping will stop, then some time after that FP- will go away for everyone.

There is no way to "assign" the 4 day to my daughter, the 6 day to me. I am hearing others going during my time already customizing their MB, and I can't even get the darn tickets in there properly. Anyone have any ideas? :confused3 I would be so grateful!

I talked to a cm today and she asked me if I had customized my magic bands. I told her that was not an option for me. She said we'll hang on and then she said it will not show until your package is paid in full

This is untrue! My package had been paid in full for nearly a month and I do not yet have MB customization options & I know others who have been able to customize them and have not paid in full yet.:confused3

agreed--we haven't paid our trip off yet and I customized magic bands the other day.

I would just call them. I've had lots of problems with the website when trying to make adr's and reservations, getting kicked off and lots of error messages. I just think it's easier to sit on hold for 20 minutes and talk to someone and get everything taken care of. I also did the online chat the other night while I was signed in to my Disney experience and that worked well too. I just get too frustrated with the website sometimes.
 
I might ring then. Our tickets have always shown in our reservation but will never let me customise it then tells me no tickets are linked. I always thought it was due to being a UK booking.
