Does anyone know about a possible conference at the Swan starting Jan.2?

I was looking at the crowd calendar on Touring Plans and it says: "Crowd Notes: expected Seek 2014 at Swan and Dolphin - 5k attendees"

Is this something to be worried about?

We went this year Jan. 2-9. There was free dining but I don't think they announced it until Oct./Nov. We were renting points so we weren't able to use the free dining but it was worth it to stay at the BWV.
The weather was good. There were days when it was chilly and we wore our sweatshirts and the last two days it was in the 80's. bring a little of everything.
The crowds weren't so bad. The beginning of the trip was a little more crowded but nothing like those stories you may have heard. I'm a teacher so I can only go during certain times. We're already booked for this year, Jan. 1-8. I'm sure the first few days will be crowded but we just take it slow and then when the crowds die down we hit the parks hard. Can't wait, I want to start planning but I'm waiting for the EMH times to come out. I think I read they come out 6 months before.

January 5th - 15th!



Turned out I can't take any vacation in December (work rule I didn't know about) so January it is! This will be early enough that my son has an entire week before exams to study!

Or he can choose not to go! lol But I doubt that's gonna happen!

YAY! I've been looking for this thread. We are headed to Disney Jan 12th-19/20th haven't decided yet. Its our first time staying onsite and we are beyond excited!

Okay so it looks like we are changing our dates to January 7-14!! Disney just added an additional race to marathon weekend creating the dopey challenge and the hubby and I are in!! I am so not looking forward to four 3am wake up calls but I keep reminding myself I will be at Disney!!!!!

Sweet! Yes it looks like I will be there over it. I'm going Jan 6-15th! My friend Melissa is going to do the marathon! I would like to start getting more active but not sure if running is my thing.

The great thing is you can do it based on your fitness level!! There are many who walk the entire thing and this year there will be a 10k so a much smaller distance!! Don't rule yourself out!! I have been amazed what I have been able to do!! Where are you going to stay?

We're going to stay at Port Orleans Riverside again. This time in preferred rooms in Alligator Bayou!

Port Orleans is our favorite resort!! We always stay alligator bayou with pool view! We request building 16 it's close and you don't have to pay the upgrade!! We have gotten our request 5 times in a row now! If we don't stay at contemporary we will be at port Orleans for sure!

YAY! Just booked the room today. Jan 5th-11th at the Contemporary with splurged and booked a room with the MK view, its our first time staying on the property too.
