**The Official January 2012 WDW Thread**

Question of the day:

How are you planning to travel to Disney??

We are leaving Salisbury, MD at 7:30ish Friday night and driving down while the kiddies sleep!! :thumbsup2 Our plan is to stop in Jacksonville to meet up with my parents, who will be there already, my baby bro, his girlfriend and aunt & uncle for breakfast before our check in at Fort Wilderness @ 1pm. :woohoo:

Right now I'm finding myself a bit stuck for inspiration... I was playing with snowflakes but trying to think of something more fun/warm/happy since I hate snow so very much, but I'm coming up blank... No holiday, no special event, nothing to point me in a direction. March really was easier, with Mardi Gras and Flower & Garden for obvious themes!

I'm going to finish up the hidden Mickey snowflake design I'm working on but I'm still hoping something a little different will jump out at me between now and then.

When I think of January I think of (just brainstorming here)...

Santa Claus in his swimsuit resting at the Poly!

the snow birds or any animals that hibernate or fly south for winter wearing Mickey Ears, on a ride or eating Mickey Ice Cream bars

a snowman with mickey ears holding a "Disney or bust" sign

maybe something there can inspire you?

If you haven't seen yet the Richard Petty Driving School has posted prices for the Exotic cars. For instruction and 6 laps you can drive a variety of vehicles, ranging from $199 to $359.

They are taking reservations, including January now.

Question of the day:

How are you planning to travel to Disney??

Fly non stop for 15hrs from Sydney to Fort Worth, 3.5 hr stop over then fly to Orlando 2hrs 2omins arriving 9pm. Total travel time 20hrs 10mins.

Solo trip? Wow, sounds like fun. I am tempted to try that sometime, I think. Are you nervous about going solo?

I am very excited to be going by myself. I am looking forward to being able to do what I want and eat where I want. I may get a little nervous walking to my room at night, but hopefully there will be other people out and about, so I will not be totally alone.

Question of the day:

How are you planning to travel to Disney??

I will be flying to Walt Disney World. This will be my third time to fly to WDW, and my fourth time to fly in my lifetime. The flight is part of the fun of the vacation for me! :)

We are flying! This is an adults only trip for my husband and I! We are going down for Marathon weekend! :thumbsup2 I am so excited!!!

I inquired about that today, because the ride along version (Thrill Ride) would have been the perfect surprise for DH for our Anniversary, but those don't begin until Jan 16 and we leave on the 14th, that is ony $99.

I added 1 night at CSR to the beginning of our trip, I just couldn't find anything off site I was happy with, and we have never stayed at CSR.

I'm SO excited!! I just booked a short trip on MLK weekend! I'm going to get my Disney Fix!! YAY!!! I know that the weekend will be crowded, but it's really the only time that we can go... so it's better than staying up here in NY!!

I have been promising my daughter-in-law that she and I would go to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter since it opened. So as a Christmas gift, we're giving her the plane fare! When my daughter found out, she of course said "I WANT TO GO TOO!!" so assuming she can get the days off from work... I'm going the Orlando with my two favorite girls!!!

We arrive on Friday, spend Saturday on IOA, Sunday will be split between DHS and Epcot (and maybe a few late hours at MK since it's open until 2am!!!) and then Sunday will be split between AK (depending on what time we get back the night before) and then we will end our trip watching wishes at MK. It's a quick trip... but it's going to be memorable no matter what!!

I just did our 'initial' dining reservations. Of course, these (and the itinerary) are open to change once my daugher-in-law finds out about the trip on Christmas day, but I'm excited with what we have.

Saturday night we'll eat at Raglan Road. I need to go to DTD to get our military disney tickets. Sunday morning we'll have breakfast at O'Hana with Lilo and Stitch, and dinner at Teppan Edo. Monday we'll have lunch at Yak and Yeti (never been there) since we'll be in AK in the morning. How's it sound??

I CAN'T WAIT!!! :dance3:

The best part of this will be surprising my DIL on Christmas day! I'm praying that my DS can keep it a secret from her until then!! ;)

I am so excited. We just upgraded our trip to the POLY!!!!! I found out that the monorail will be running the morning of the Marathon so the extra money to stay at the Poly will be worth it. Now just to pay off the difference.

Question of the day:

How are you planning to travel to Disney??

We're taking Southwest from Pittsburgh nonstop to Orlando. We toyed with driving, but thought it was too risky with January weather. Plus, we got an amazing deal by applying for the Southwest Visa card.

YAY :yay:for those who got upgrades, desired reservations, Disney magic, and surprise trips! January seems so far off, but it sure is coming fast! Does that make sense?

Question of the day:

How are you planning to travel to Disney??

We'll be driving from Philadelphia over 2 days. Luckily my Mother-in-law will be traveling with us (we'll be dropping her off in Ocala for the week). I'll get to tend to the kids (ages 6, 3, 1) in the back of the minivan and my Wife rides up front with her Mother (they take turns driving).

We did this a few years ago and it worked out great. Just added one more child and the others got a little older. As long as I have my ipad I should be a happy camper :)

Question of the day:

How are you planning to travel to Disney??

We are driving, leaving around 10pm so Kiddo will sleep on the way down. We are staying one night offsite to visit WWHOP and then check in at Disney bright and early the next morning.

I am so excited for our first trip to Disney!

We are flying from Philly. Let's keep our fingers crossed that we don't have a surprise snowstorm like we did last Jan and had to sit on the tarmac for over 3 hours with a sick kid again.:scared1:

Question of the day, since so many of us are taking advantage of the free dining promotion

What ADR are you most looking forward to?

MAN...easy one to answer!

I've covered this before, but my wife has no idea we're going to WDW (this will be our first trip to WDW). She wont find out until Christmas morning. That said, If there is one thing that is gauranteed to blow my wife's mind it is when she realizes that we are going to be eating IN Cinderella Castle. When she finds out that on Jan. 26th 2011 she is going to be seated "at" Cinderella's Royal Table...well...lets just say "Husband of the year" is in the bag!!!!:rotfl:

Question of the day:

How are you planning to travel to Disney??

We are from Seattle, so we are flying! Alaska Airlines is the only airline that does a direct flight to Orlando, so we will be flying them again. I get a great $99 companion fare that also counts for first class, so we decided to splurge and are flying first-class round trip. :yay:

Very excited for this because our flights are pretty long, and I'd like to get some rest on our red-eye from Seattle to Orlando so I am ready to go in the parks when we arrive bright and early! :rotfl: Hoping for no repeat of my meltdown after we flew the red-eye last trip. :rolleyes1

Question of the day:

How are you planning to travel to Disney??

We are in California so flying is the only way to go. We usually fly out of San Jose, but we decided to fly out of SFO. Virgin has a non-stop, direct flight to Orlando so we decided to give it a try!
