**The Official January 2012 WDW Thread**

We are in.

I was hoping for a Sept trip this year but Jan just works better for us for so many reasons. So anyway we will be driving from NC on Jan 20th getting to disney around 11pm. We will probably be staying at Pop and we will be leaving Jan 29th after check out for the drive back. Probably wont hit any park on that day cause we will want to make it home at a reasonable time.

The cast will be me. I will turn 34 on this trip...wooohooo a great birthday present. This will be my second trip although the first was some 20 something years ago.

DH He'll be 32 by trip time (yup married younger lol). This will be his first trip. He is excited but clueless and only really knows about disney from what I tell him. He won't be doing any research or anything lol. Oh and he is Mexican and lived in Mexico till he was like 17.

DS4 never been to disney and loves everything disney. Pretty much all the movies. Recent favs have been Dumbo, 3 caballeros, Mulan, and Brave little toaster goes to Mars...yup old school I have all the old VHS lol. Also loves CARS and Toy Story but what little boy doesnt.

Hmmmm this post is turning into a PTR maybe I should just copy and paste to a PTR lol...

Oh and we will probably do QS dining (hopefully free) and possible add 2-3 TS. Thinking Ohana and maybe Chef Mickey and Crystal Palace (DS also loves tigger). But who knows still 8 months away...

I can't wait. Wish I could book a package now.

Anyone afraid of cold temps in January? Our December trips has made us paranoid to go in the winter again. Temps dipped intp the 20s and 30s and we were in full winter gear most of the time. I would like to go early March and I am afraid of a cold snap. Has has the January weather luck been in the past?

We went in January 2009 and again in December 2010. We were definitely colder on our December trip, but I'm sure that is luck of the draw! I'm going to be prepared for cold and be pleasantly surprised if its not!!!

I may be no help but I'm not really worried about the weather. We live 2 hours south of Disney and my husbands one rule with going is that we do not go when its super hot so I'm limited on the months we can go.

I do think that January is warmer then December in Florida through. :D

We just booked our next trip "home" for Jan 6-9, 2012. Right now, we are at Kidani Village, but I'm thinking of trying to switch at our 7 month mark. I can't decide.

I also haven't even started preparing. We are spending a split stay at AKV and BLT in September so that has been on my mind most.

Happy Mothers Day to all of the moms. :D

DH and I have talked about hotels and we're unsure. We want to do at least 8 nights/9 days. We would like to do at least two days at Epcot & Magic Kingdom + we may do 1 day for each Universal park so depending on how long we want to stay will be the final deciding factor on Mod vs Value.

Of course we have NEVER planned a trip out this far in advance. We are last minute planners (usually say "hey lets go next month" and then do it all). So maybe we can do a mod if we save up enough money. :D

Ok.so we are in for January 7th through the 15th!! We are thinking POR...soooo excited!!

Another January 2012 planner here! We're already booked for OKW (home resort) for 13th-18th, but looking to switch at our 7 month window. Maybe BC, maybe BLT or BW again? Can't decide, availability might just decide for us!
This trip will be our first surprise trip for my niece and nephew. They're used to us going every other year, and since we went last January, they aren't expecting a trip this coming year, but they keep asking if we can go :) . So the plan is to surprise them this Christmas with our trip. I can't wait to see their faces!!
All together there will be 4 adults (my parents, my sister and myself) and 3 kids (10,8 and 2). Usually the entire family goes (all 13 of us now) and we get a GV, but this year it's only 7 of us going, so our options of where to stay are open since we can get away with a 2 bedroom.
So excited!

Yay for a surprise trip. My DH said something about not telling our kids we were going but I don't know if I can go 8 months without letting it slip.

How did you book already? I tried to look online at room only rates but it says it can't price rooms out that far. That it only currently goes to December 31st, 2011. :( I want to price a mod vs value for us.

Melissa- My parents are DVC members and they book with their points rather then with cash through WDW. With DVC you can book at your home resort up to 11 months.

Going with my sister, a new DVC Member and other family members for a week. Never been in January before, but did go the first week of Dec. 2009. First time staying at Bay Lake Towers and in a Grand Villa.:goodvibes My one niece, her husband and their 2 (almost 3) year old and 6 month old boys will be joining us. There will be 10 of us total so it should make for some great memories.:dance3:

That's awesome! DH & I have wanted to do DVC for a couple of years now but DH always balks at the price.

We are going January 14-21!! :cool1:
Our trip is looonnnggg overdue. We were booked to go in Dec. 2010 but we had to cancel because my DH had a heart attack  But he is doing great now and we can't wait to get back to The World!!

Kaler131- I assume you are from North East Ohio? We are in the Cleveland area- we are headed down the week right after you!!!

OK! I think everything is updated- let me know if I missed anyone or if you want anything changed!

Dining reservations in what? Two months? Can't believe how fast time is flying!

I am in! We haven't officially settled on dates yet, but we know it'll be after New Years and leaving around MLK weekend (January 13-16), and we'll be staying at Pop Century. We're thinking of leaving January 4, 5, or 6 and staying a week. Due to school and work schedules, we've never been during a time that is not considered peak season -- we typically go during Presidents' week, and once during spring break, so we can handle any crowds that Disney throws our way :rotfl:

Oh my! did you see that the December park hours are out? That means in less than one month January hours will be posted, and soon after we can make dining reservations!!!

:yay: Hooray!! I can't wait to make some concrete plans! My fiance and I were talking about where we should take my dad and brother to eat the other day, so we have already kind of started! We are thinking Sci Fi, Coral Reef and 'Ohana!! Yummmm!!

We will be there in January :goodvibes. We will be staying at BLT from the 19th-23rd and will also be going on the Disney Dream (first time on a cruise) for 4 nights before hand. We are celebrating my DH's birthday. The kids know about the BLT stay, but they have no idea about the Disney cruise :cool1:. So excited.

Finally got the dates set!!!

January 14-21, 2012

We're staying off campus!! (I know, you can shed a tear..i did!!) but it'll be my husband and step-kid's first time so I am super duper excited!!!! :woohoo:

WAHOO! I'll add the newbies

I cant wait to make ADRs too! We are thinking: Jiko, Ohana (been there 2x so we will see), Mama Melrose Fantasmic Package, Chefs de France. Though knowing me I will change my mind ten more times :)
