The *OFFICIAL* Grey's Anatomy Fan Thread!

For the past 2 weeks, I decided to watch Greys Anotomy from the Beginning so I rented all the seasons and watched it. OMG, I LOVE THIS SHOW. I cannot believe that I was missing out on it. It is now my most Favorite show on TV. George's story was the saddest. Why did he leave the show?

This was a GREAT show in the first few seasons, it was one of my favorites and definitely got me hooked. I believe "George" left due to some conflict on the set involving the actor playing Burke. Burke left first, but I don't think George was happy....he was on Ellen recently, and I think he might be on Broadway now....does anyone else remember more of the details? I'm sure I could google it, but I'm feeling lazy today. :goodvibes

I did the same thing as you. My DD loves the show and kept pestering me to watch it, then she bought Season One so I borrowed it and watched, then I got the rest of the past seasons from Netflix and watched those over the course of the summer so I would be "caught up" when the new season began.

I'm not exactly why the guy who played George left the show, but I heard it had something to do with him being gay in real life? Maybe someone else can answer your question better.

I don't think that George left due to the problems between him and Burke IRL. I think I heard that he felt that he wasn't getting enough screen time last year and wanted to be released to explore other opportunities.

Is anybody still watching? It's been funny watching how they try to hide Ellen's (Mer) pregnancy in the scenes. I wonder when they will have her pregnant on the show?

I'm still watching...

I thought last weeks episode was one of the best in awhile. It actually held my attention, unlike most of the others.

I agree with that. I've found that I can watch or not watch and I'm ok with that. I tape it and watch it when we have time and there's nothing better on TV.

I've also been watching to see how they hide Ellen's pregnancy. There was an article online last week that was in awe about how Ellen is 40 but looks 30. When I saw that, I yelled, "REALLY!?!" I'm 43 and I think she looks much older than me... and most of my 40-something friends. I don't think she's aged well at all.

Yes, Izzie is being mean. I wonder if they will split up?
I don't like the new people from Mercy West. That tall guy who was so rude to Izzie really creeps me out. Can't remember his name.

I can't think of his name either, but I think they are going to hook him and Izzie up.

What does everyone think is going on with Chief

That guy is so unattractive and Izzie is so pretty!

I think the chief is an alcoholic again. Did you see the bartender putting alcohol in his drink under the table? What will they do with his character if he steps down? Maybe he will leave the show.
I hope Derek doesn't become chief b/c he would be working too much!

I have to agree with you that I think Ellen does look like she is at least 40, NOT 30.

I really hate how Izzie is treating Alex

Me too, not a good start to their marriage. It doesn't look like it's going to last. :sad2:

I can't think of his name either, but I think they are going to hook him and Izzie up.

Eww, I can't remember his name either, but I've been calling him Fred Flintstone in my head b/c he has a caveman forehead.

I agree with DisneyQueen that it seems like the Chief is becoming alcoholic again.

Maybe Derek could think of a new way to function as chief that would involve more delegation of work, like an assistant or something, so he wouldn't be working too much?

Did anyone else hear that McSteamy might be leaving the show after the video tape scandal with him and his wife? Does anyone know what happened - is he staying or leaving?

His name is Dr. Percy, I remember because it's the same name as the dog in Pocahontas. I don't like him either though, or the girl.

I do like the guy (Dr. Avery?) who's been working with Christina and Hunt a lot of the episodes.

Well, I think Ellen used to look younger when she first started the show (maybe it was the ponytail). I think also the pregnancy has made her look older. I would guess her age to be 34.
Fred Flintstone-Ha!

What is the story with Mcsteamy and his wife? I'll have to google that.

I don't remember all the details, but I believe it was a video tape scandal involving McSteamy, his wife, a former Miss Teen USA and a LOT of alcohol.

I really enjoyed last night's episode. At the beginning of the season, I thought Private Practice was a better show. Thankfully, the last few weeks of Grey's has been better. Hate to see the chief and alcohol, but it is a very sneaky disease. :sad2:

I really hated last night show. To much going on for a hour show. I hate they are turning Chief into a drunk, I hate that Owen has feelings for the New Dr. and is saying he loves Christina when it obivious sp? he doesn't. I wish there was some way they could have worked Izzie into the show. I hated Bailey being a crying mess in front of her dad. So out of character for her.

I've been calling him Dr. Neanderthal. I like Fred Flintstone better. :thumbsup2

I agree with this. It was the night before Thanksgiving and suddenly, it was New Year's Day. Yikes!

If Bailey's dad was so devoted to family, why would he go alone to see his DD? Why would it have to be over Christmas without his wife if they couldn't afford to both fly in to see her? Dumb storyline.

So, we're supposed to not only believe that Mer is in her 20s, we're supposed to believe that Mark Sloan is 36? I guess that makes his 18 yo daughter about right since she looks older than 18, too.

I didn't like last night's show either. I can't believe they had Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's all in one episode!! I guess that means no Grey's until January....:confused3 That stinks!

I know Mer is supposed to be older than the average resident. I think her and the rest of the Grey's residents are supposed to be about 4 years older than an average resident which would put them in their early 30s.

Lexi, on the other hand, must be a prodigy because she is a resident at 24, when I think people graduate med school around 26.
