The Official GLEE thread

I can't believe there are no comments yet today! Wow, last night was amazing!!! I laughed so hard, I cried so hard!!! I swear Idina and Lea were born to sing together!!! And Kurts dad, EVERY time that man is on, I end up crying! That was intense!
And Puck with Beth, ahhhh, big sigh, loved it!

Didnt get a chance to see it. Its not up on Hulu or Fox.. anyone know where else the episode might be watched?

Way to go, Kurt's DAD!!! :thumbsup2

Loved Brittany with the lobster on her head, too!

And who could have thought that "Poker Face" could be turned into such a sweet duet between Idina and Lea? That was great . . .

I didn't care for this episode. I guess I'm a traditional rock and roll fan. My favorite part was "Beth"--wow! I did love Kurt's dad's speech--way to go!

Not my fave episode. I liked last week's better:thumbsup2 Liked Kurt's dad's speech but felt bad for Finn. He is not a hateful person and was just reacting to how uncomfortable Kurt was making him. I loved that Kurt now knows that his dad loves him unconditionally.

I agree with this. :)

AAAH!! Just found this thread and I am SO excited!! :woohoo: A thread for people who are DISers and GLEEKS!! I'm home!!!

Just finished watching on Hulu, another great episode! "Poker Face" is one of my favorite Gaga songs and I loved hearing it slowed down, beautiful. I felt bad for Kurt with Finn blowing up at him, but I can't say I was surprised, I think it's been coming for a while. Glad that Kurt's dad stood up for him, I think that's exactly what Finn needed after being without a father figure for a while.

I love Kurt and I love Finn. I also love that Kurt's dad let Finn know that the world he used over and over again was unacceptable. HOWEVER, Kurt is putting Finn in a very uncomfortable situation he is totally manipulating the fact that his dad and Finn's mom like each other.

They should not be sharing a room, not with the way Kurt is feeling for Finn, It isn't right. They wouldn't expect a guy and a girl that age to share a room. so because of Kurt's feelings for Finn, they shouldn't be expected to either.

Agreed. "Not in my house" well, um..he certainly didn't ASK to be in your house now did he. I also don't feel it's fair to acknowledge that you would have acted the same way at 16 and then yell at Finn for acting the same way he would have. That whole situation was jacked up...the welcome home party? They HAD to have known Finn wouldn't like that.

Lots of negative comments so I'm going to say that I DID like the episode overall but-

1) Really, you have Idina Menzel and Lea Michelle's amazing voices and you choose 'Poker Face?' of all the songs ever written? (To be fair I've never been a huge fan of Poker Face since 'hit me' is a dead giveaway it was written by someone who's never actually played poker.)

(ok even I am amazed at how nit picky I'm being. Maybe it's because I am sick- BUT-)

Puck was doing awesome at 'Beth' until the very end. In the original version there is this sense of melancholy in the last two words that wasn't there and it really changed the feel of the song I thought.

I am totally hooked on this show. DH is also but he subscribes to the Don't Ask Don't Tell theory...only he and I know about his secret obsession:rotfl:

We both agreed our favortie episode so far had to be the Madonna episode. And I agree about Kurt and Finn, while Kurt now knows his dad unconditionally, I don't think Finn is a bad guy just a teenager. The ending was great though.

The Beth song was so sentimental...loved Puck doing this and his words afterwards.

Great Great show!

I wasn't familiar with the song. The only Lady Gaga song I knew was the first one they did. So not having anything to compare it to, I thought it was a cute song and enjoyed it. I guess I'll have to go and listen to the original now.

I loved last night's episode, although I seem to love each weeks. While it was not my favorite episode so far I liked:

1. Rachel and Shelby singing Poker Face. I loved hearing it slowed down and their voices are just amazing.

2. All the GaGa outfits. Loved Rachel's stuffed animal outfit and how they were all stapled on.

3. The boys performing "Beth" was good and I liked seeing Puck grow as a person.

Next week looks good.

I'm surprised that even with being a HUGE Idina fan, this was my least favorite episode. Although Idina and Lea were amazing, the rest of the episode felt forced. They usually do such a great job adding songs when needed rather than fitting a show into the songs. I know they were trying to fit a lot in, but it just felt like it was all over the place.

That being said, I am more and more impressed with Lea Michele. She is so talented and has such great depth in her character. She plays the role perfectly. And not only does she look a heck of a lot like Idina, she has a very similar voice. I'm excited to follow her career as it continues to take shape.

Can't wait for next week. I have Sue withdrawals and am looking forward to her zingers next week.

Kurt's Dad's speech was awesome. I totally get the saying he used to act that way but expects more from Finn. Even DH said it was one of the best speeches he's heard on TV in a LONG time.

We'll be there Friday at Radio City - can't wait!

My sister and I are going on Sunday at 3pm to see Glee! I can't wait!!!!

I LOVED Bad Romance last night! It was one of my favorite numbers so far.

I can't wait until Sunday!!!!

I had a completely different take on that scene.

I thought the dad was great. Finn was being a donkey's rear end. Kurt put a lot of time and effort into showing Finn that he wanted this arrangement to work by his decorating. Finn was deliberately hurting Kurt by calling the stuff "faggy", and kept on going, even after he saw how upset Kurt was. His father was making a point that just because he used those terms too when he was young, doesn't make it right. And that he thought Finn would be more sensitive to these issues, since he was in glee club.

It was directly because of this scene that Finn was able to stand up to the football goons, even in his red shower curtain "dress", and get them to leave Kurt alone.

Have you not seen the previous episodes? The reason Kurt put a lot of time and effort into it is because he's trying to develop a relationship with Finn. Finn was not trying to hurt Kurt, just trying to get Finn to stop hitting on him. He freaked out- just like most straight, midwestern boys would, when forced to room with a gay guy who happens to be obsessed with him.
