Hi to those interested in DVC! I'm a newer member, but still feel like I have a great understanding of DVC and would be happy to share my experience with buying direct (over the phone) and add-on at the Doorway to Dreams in IL.
I found my guide thru a fellow DISer that I had PM'd to ask questions about his recent purchase. My guide turned out to be perfect - he's been around a long time, didn't use any sales tactics - just listened to what I wanted and told me what he had that would work, and he get's great reviews anytime his name is brought up on the DISboards .

I'm always thrilled to share our DVC story! We have 531 points, spread over 4 contracts and 2 resorts. Our guide has been nothing short of spectacular in every way. He is out of the Doorway to Dreams store in Chicago, so we pop in from time to time just to say, "Hi!"

Since 2007, we have been able to take 7 trips on our points! Trips we never would have been able to afford if it weren't for DVC! We also have 2 trips booked for 2011!

We experienced many of the options available with DVC, from reservations at our home and other DVC resorts, regular Disney resorts, using points for a cruise, renting . . . And, living "nearby" (in Alabama), I have lost count of the number of trips we've been lucky enough to make using our points!

It took us 2 years to gain the confidence it was the right thing for us to do. I can answer any questions you may have & am happy to help out.
