The Official Free Dining Watch 2007 Thread

We already booked our August Vacation but have only paid up to where dining would cost. We hope to get free dining, but who knows!!! Can't wait to go again!!princess:

don't you have to pay xtra for anyone over 3 people in a room, or is that just adults? I stayed at POFQ, I liked it a lot, very spread out! You walk a lot, and the grounds are very nice. Good luck on free Dining. I sent an email vs calling the reservation people, those people know less than us, I did get an email back and the nice person did say that they plan on offering a promotion for this early fall, AGAIN. I did manage to get the 40% last year for this year, my friend actually booked for us, she was down there and actually had to approach Disney about the bounceback offer, no one approached her, so she and her hubby booked for us, seperately. Its a good deal!!!!

Nope, you don't have to pay extra unless it's adults--kids under age 17 stay free with parents in room!

40% off would be great deal too (we missed out on that one!). I still think we'd end up ahead with free dining though vs. 40% code.

Free dinning NOW to me means going or not going, due to a major home improvment that has to be done!:sad2:
I contacted disney through their web site, and was told no offers to this date. Please check back soon!

Would it not be possible for you to stay at a DTD hotel or one just off site? I know its not quiet the same but you will still be at Disney :)

ACK! Got an email from MouseSavers...one of their "Hot Deals Announcements" so naturally I got all excited...nothing about dining. :scared: :rotfl:

After reading the last post and listening to the WDW Radio podcast from 4/1 I am now VERY CERTAIN they are going to offer free dining (and lucky me.. I am going within the rumored time frame!) I'm getting excited!

What do you guys think? I booked through Dreams Unlimited and based on reputation, I know they keep on top of these types of things and make adjustments to reservations accordingly..but should I contact my TA and let her know about the rumor? We are also willing to change dates, and if we must, we'll change resorts in order to get the free dining. Would it be a good idea to let her know now so when 4/12 comes along she'll be ready to make any changes?

ETA - Ohhh..that post has mysteriously disappeared..hmmmm??!

This makes me sooooooo happy! Hopefully, we will get this offer and be able to go to the world in September.

Don't worry - the DU agents are on top of the rumor! And, if and when the discount is released, your agent will try his/her best to get it applied to your reservation!

Yes, if you are willing to change your dates, you should email your agent and let them know now, so they're prepared. :)

I have been so wrapped up on waiting for free dinning to be offered that I forgot that I was caller 15 on a local radio station and I'm entered to win an all inclusive trip to Ireland. They only have 100 people entered for the raffle. They are announcing the winner on april 12. Can you imagine if free dinning was offered and I won the trip all in the same day. How cool would that be:cheer2:
I'ts kinda funny because I would rather go to WDW than go Ireland. My DH and I read the restriction on the package and you can not sell or trade the trip in.You think that it would be cheaper to sent us to WDW than Ireland
JUST CAN'T WAIT TILL APRIL 12TH.

I have to wonder why some cm's are SO rude! I mean come on, don't work for Disney if you are going to be rude.

I called not too long ago to change my email addy and such to make sure I did not miss out on the 40% codes. I talked to the nicest cm who was telling me that free dining would be comming around for the dates I was interested in so to hold off and I would get an awesome deal. :) Very sweet guy.

So after reading about how so many people are booking already and me being worried about getting the resort I want and well..me just being anxious I wondered if I should go on and book. I have already made all the plans, have my adr's booked, etc.. So dh said well lets call and see what a cm thinks is best to do, book now then apply the dining when it comes out or just wait to book. Well here is how my conversation went..

me.. Hi, I have a question for you. We are trying to decide when to book and since we know free dining will be offered...

SHE INTERUPTS ME....

cm... we do not have that promotion.

me.. yes I realize it has not been offered just yet but since it will be offered soon...

INTERUPTION AGAIN

cm... No, we have no word of that, there will not be free dining offered this year! I don't know where you got your information!!

me..(getting frustrated but still calmly) Well I do know that it will be offered so anyways on to my question.. I am wondering if it would be best to book now and then add dining later when it is announced or wait and book once it comes out?

cm.. (after a silence) Well you can book whenever you want to and IF we had anything like that then I guess we could apply it.

I mean come on.. just let me ask my question and answer it. I did not ask you IF there would be free dining or not. I already know that. I asked for you thoughts on booking now or waiting.

Seriously!! I wanted to ask her what pee'd in her corn flakes today!! :confused3 :confused3

Some of those Disney CMs can be MEAN. Last year I called with some questions about something-or-other and one of them told me that if I wasn't interested in booking at that time, I can "go online and find out information for myself." Duh, but I wanted to talk to a PERSON, not a computer!

You gotta feel for those CMs, who are probably being bombarded from people ALL THE TIME about Free Dining and so forth. I'm afraid they may not offer it just to spite us obsessive Disney freaks. :surfweb:

What do you guys think? We're aking our dd who is 2 to Disney during free dining. Do you think I should say she is 3 and buy her a one day pass just to get her the dining. We probably won't use many of the credits but it would be nice for milk and what not...

I called to ask a question last year and the lady was really mean. It wasn't a dumb question and something only they could answer. It really put me off. It was basically if you aren't booking now I won't help you sort of thing too. The next person I talked to was so nice.

Last year during free dinning my dd was 2 and every TS we went to gave her "complimentary" drink. She is allegic to dairy and they gave her soy milk. At CRT they even gave her her own kids meal.We told them that she didn't have the DDP and they said that was ok.So I wouldn't bother paying the extra money. I would keep in mind that they are requierd to eat off parents plates. We were told if she got her own plate at the buffets they would have to charge us. hope this helps out

A one-day ticket is $56. That's a lot of milk! But, if you think she'll eat $56 worth of food then it would be worth it. But, I would just buy her milk and have her eat off your plate. :)

I would! I have in fact, because my now 3 year old is a BIG eater. Mind you, I paid for it, it wasn't during free dining.

It would be cheaper just to buy him/her a milk. I'm sure your 2 year old could eat off your plate. Believe me on the plan there will be enough food to go around.

Last September, we went with our 2 Year old and we got your added on to our dining plan without having to buy a park pass for her. The cost was about $10/day. I just called and they just put her into the system as being 3years old, but just for the dining portion. Not sure how they do that, but they did it for us last year.

Now, we were staying on rented DVC points, so we were not on the dining plan. Maybe they might make you buy a 1 day pass to get your 2 yr. old on to FREE dining.
