The *Official* February 2011 Thread - Happy Dance Time...The Park Hours Are Out!

We may be getting rid of our Le Cellier ADR For Feb 2nd 5:10pm ish (around there) for 4 people.

If anyone wants it let me know before I post on the main cancellation board!

DisneyFirstTimer10- did you read my mind?? Ive been trying to get Le Cellier for weeks!!!! Id love it!

muppets and the parade..

i'm looking at the Touring Plan for HS for small children..... the only other thing I see for young kids is the HoneY I shrunk the Kids playground:

http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/pa.../honey-i-shrunk-the-kids-movie-set-adventure/

I bet the 2 shows will take a while. By the time you get to where the show is, get a seat, wait for it to start....... that's probably 1.5 hours right there. Maybe go play at the HISTK playground in between the shows. If your DD likes Playhouse Disney you could have breakfast or Lunch at Hollywood & Vine which has the PD characters and is supposed to be super fun and a lot of interaction. there's also the Pixar parade which I think might be around 3:00. It could be a good half-day park and you can use the rest of the day to hang at the hotel, swim, or go mini golfing or something. I also have a 3 year old DD too, so that's what I have in mind for her, but I also have a 7 year old DS so he might go on ToT and TSM if not a long line.

Good afternoon all DH and I are still trying to decide if we are staying off or on site. I was just reading about the Disney Play House Party for on-site guest during extra hours (not right term hope you know what I mean). I am wondering are there anymore of these type of "parties" for on-site guests?

Hi all, trying to be semi-productive on this lazy Sunday... cut up the sparkly green foamboard I found (not lime green, but green enough I guess!) and made our new Mickey head pins to wear. Silly and cheesy, but I like 'em. :)

love it Gina!

I booked Tusker house specifically for Daisy. :rotfl:

Getting closer and closer. Went through all my travel size stuff, have a list of what I need before we go..

Just over a month and we will be at POFQ, cannot wait!!

Got yet another few inches of snow here today, and temperatures this week supposed to be HIGHs of -27 celsius (that's -17 F for those of you south of my border :) - I won't even tell you what the lows will be!!

So needless to say - although I am hoping for nice warm weather at least in the 70s - anything Florida has to offer weather-wise will feel warm to us!

My son was 4 when we went to HS last. He loved the Honey I Shrunk the Kids play area. I mean LOVED it!!! We couldn't get him out of there. Definitely worth going to that park for that alone. He also enjoyed the Muppets, the Great Movie Ride and Sci Fi for lunch. We watched the parade and it was fun, although he thought it was too loud.

He loved Epcot most of all. If I had to give up a park, it would probably be AK... oh, I don't know... that's not true. I guess I couldn't give up a park, but then we aren't there often, so I never feel like "oh, we'll just do that next time" because we never know when we'll be lucky enough to have a 'next time'.

We are gonig to each park, and to MK and EP twice. We might not stay all day at AK and HS, but we will definitely go. We do have park-hoppers, though. Last time we didn't, and it was a mess because my son wanted to go to Epcot on a day that we started at MK. Park hoppers are a must this trip!

Whatever you decide, you will have a ball! :woohoo:

I am not being productive at all today atleast according to everybody who is not a disney lover. I have spent the morning planning and planning for an off site resort. But now DH is thinking of staying on-site. So I am starting over - but I degress: I wrote to say I love the pins they are great and nothing is to "Cheesy" for mouse land.

I love them Gina!

I am having the hardest time deciding on what park to go to on SuperBowl Sunday

Its between MK and AK - Right now we are leaning towards AK. Any suggestions?

Were doing hs on the 6th. Fantasmic is at 7. So.... if the steelers are in the game we might have to plan another hs day to see fantasmic..... if not then the crows shouldn't be too bad..... we want to go to mk on Monday to see the mvp parade...

wow what a day around here: decided on staying on-site after Jeff called Disney and talked to a rep he found out we have a pin that will work. So we are staying at the sports hotel (i love sports). But with changing our plans I know get to redo park schedules so that we can take advantage of the extra hours.

Now the decision that needs to get made is:

meal plan or no meal plan can you all give me some advise. Just a quick glance at family: going will be DH, myself, DD (5) and DS (3). Both kids eat like typical kids and Jeff and I enjoy "real" food. We are not snackers (not even in the parks) and when we want something we share it or we dig in the stroller for something that we brought from home.

We do like character meals but with the lateness in our planning it has been difficult getting into any - yes I will keep trying.

Thanks for all the great advise I (we) have received with planning our spur of the moment vacation.

The Dining plan works great for our family! Its Me, DH, DS (5), DD (2). I like that it allows for us to have a break in the day since we normally dont go back to our resort mid-day.

What character dining are you trying to get into/on what day/time? I am an avid ADR maker and would love to help in any way possible :)

Hi Joy1619
Did you get the lovely blizzard yet? No snow just very heavy wind with the snow blowing Calgary was in a white out situation -13 but with wind chill -32

Can't wait until Feb I just hope it is good weather

from what I've read in my research on the Dining plan is it's not any great bargain any more (i guess it used to be). Now it's pretty much just like pre-paying for your meals so when you're there you don't have to worry about paying the bill.

We are doing AK on Saturday with DTD at night (T-Rex for dinner -ds's fav place)
And MK on Sunday. I did contemplate changing our MK day for Monday so we could see the MVP parade, but the stars didn't align! If the patriots make it to the superbowl we might consider MK on Monday.

Everytime I think my plans are solid I think.... And worry that the plan is not right!
.... But it is all part of the planning fun!

Gina- I love the glitter Mickey heads!!!

This is our first time using the dining plan and I am thrilled to be trying it. I feel like it will help us to relax. We will not have to worry about paying the bill and saving enough cash to eat all week. It is already paid for! I am going to feel like a VIP! DH and I are looking forward to eating at places we probably would skip if we had to pay OOP.
I guess you pay for it one way or another, but you have to eat - right? So, why not pay up front for it!
Just my two cents.

oh, one thing about having the dining plan that might make it worth the $$$ is that now I will order whatever I want vs. looking at prices. A lot of times I get what's cheap like chicken or a sandwich and not what I would really like, like prime rib or seafood.
