The *Official* February 2011 Thread - Happy Dance Time...The Park Hours Are Out!

Just wanted to share that I am so excited.... just booked an 8 day trip from the 10th -18th at BCV!!!!:cool1: After the week I have had it was such a nice thing to do! can't wait. 115 days to go, but who is counting!?!?!?:rotfl:

i've been nervous about the weather. as a former sun worshipper, I've always hated the cold, but as I get older, I hate the heat more and more each year. Yesterday it got up to 65 here and was sunny. I was out all day having a yard sale and...... it was downright HOT when the sun was out! I felt like it was like 85 and was trying to stay in the shade, lol. I couldn't believe when I found out it was only 65. I would be THRILLED with 65 and sunny all week at WDW. As long as the sun is out, I'd even be happy with 55-60. Now 60 and no sun -- brrrr, now that's chilly. Then again, 75 and sunny can be REALLY hot if standing out in the sun........ I guess as I get older my window of comfortable temps gets narrower as well, lol. Colder than 60 and I'm freezing. Hotter than 70 and I'm sweltering, lol. :rotfl:

I'm jealous of you all! My family goes February of every even year, so we won't be going again til 2012. I'll answer any February questions!

Hey-

Thanks for the offer!! I do have a couple of crowd questions for you. I would think that it would be a lot less crowded in February, but after looking at touringplans I am a little nervous. We are going to be there the 3rd-8th and have a couple of days where some of the parks are listed at a 9. What have the crowds been like when you were there? Thanks again!

DS and I have been in early-mid February numerous times, and early Feb. is the best time of the whole year to me!! Awesome (which means cold, to me) weather, non-existent crowds, just perfect. Free dining forced us to go a bit later this time (11th - 19th) but the crowd levels will still be way low until the weekend we leave.

The highest I'm seeing on the crowd calendars is a 6 -- The only time I see 9's is during President's Week, and those should be 20's or something. I do see one 9 for Epcot on the 4th -- must be some special event going on or something. All the other numbers are way low.

we are going to be at wdw Feb 13-16, and show monday (valentines day) at a 5, do most skip school/work or something everything else is 2 or3.

Getting depressed though, i want February to come in the next couple weeks not couple months

You and me both!

So much other stuff going on right now, the trip in Feb is the only bright spot.

Although, once that happens I dont know what to do after. We had talked about going back in December, but the way things are going, I dont think we are going to be able to afford it.

Keeping my chin up! :cool1:

Yeah we kinda went all out because this is our first trip so we won't be able to go back for a little while. Maybe in 2013, DD will be 6 so it will be a whole different experience for her! I just hope we don't set our standards too high staying at a deluxe resort because I don't think we can do it everytime.

Hi Everyone! Newbie here! Will be at WDW Feb 13 - 18!! My qestion is how crowded will it be in MK on Valentine's Day? TP says it'll be "4" for MK - can anyone tell me what it feels like? Thank you!! :dance3:

Welcome!!

I have only ever been in July, so I dont know what a 4 day feels like.

Only 3 months 3 weeks and 2 days!!! (but who is counting)

Hi Shunasee

i agree, way to much going on Kids are in sports again Soccor, Ringette, and hockey plus i play hockey twice aweek and with work time should go by quite fast but it just seems to be slowing down for some reason. oh well before we know it the vacation will be done and we will be chatting about our next trip.

Well dis friends. It has been an interesting week..

Have been having some unusual stomach pains in last 3 wks or so. Went to doc twice. The first time "I was backed up". Second time I was diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome. Neither of these worked very well with me..just felt like it was something different, can't explain why...

Tuesday morning I awoke with AWFUL, teeth clenching, tears streaming, can't move type of pains. After quick trip to doc and a few tests..appendicitis and surgery was immediately scheduled for 2 hrs later.

When they go to get my appendix, they take a look at my intestines and realize I have a 2" metal wire (similar to a staple) piercing between and thru portions of my small intestine!! OUCH. So they take that out too and repair the damage. Have no idea where that came from but I must have eaten it somehow as I've never had surgery before. The doc is guessing that is what has been causing my pain for a few weeks...and that I'm lucky appendicitis came along with it or it may have been a LONG TIME before someone found metal in my intestines--didn't show on cat scan or xray. I am very blessed that I didn't have to just "deal" with a wrong diagnosis and live in pain..

So I am doing okay. Still off work and very sore. May be able to go back on Thursday or Friday. Who knows how much this is going to cost?!?! But, hey, at least I am on road to health and recovery:cheer2:

Can't wait til February!:yay:

Holy cow!!! That could have ended so much worse... So glad they got it out of you!! Here's hoping you heal up quick & easy. :)

Once again, I would like to apologize for being neither here nor on the FB group very often lately! I don't have any reason as dramatic as rouge metal in my intestines :thumbsup2 -- just marching band season which takes up so much of mine and DS's lives. But all the practice and sacrifice has paid off!

(Warning, proud mom brag incoming) I know any of you who are my FB friends are sick of hearing about it already, so I doubly apologize to you. :)

Yesterday was the all-day UIL area marching competition. Last night, my son's high school advanced to the finals, which is a big honor in itself. But unbelievably, they were announced at the end of all of it to be one of the 6 schools out of the 30 that competed who are going to STATE. This is huge!! They will compete with other bands from around the state in the Alamodome in San Antonio on 11/2. How awesome is that??

So, we'll have to deal with the grueling schedule for a bit longer, but it's worth it. :) Maybe by the time this is all done, Disney will be ready to announce the extension of the dessert party, and I'll have time to work on rearranging my schedule! :goodvibes

Wow kriscar, I am so glad that worked out for you - your appendix did a really great job ;) - hope you feel better soon!

And Gina - you are right to brag! Congrats to your son, that is awesome!

I've never been to WDW before so I can't help out with the 4 crowd level thing, sorry - but I would be interested in hearing a response or whatnot, since some of the days we will be there are 4s as well!

Has anyone heard anything new about the Wishes Dessert Party? I'm still holding out hope for January/February extension!

Kriscar: that is some crazy stuff!! So happy to hear you are on the mend!

MamaJessie: I'll answer the question for you, ringette is like hockey but it's played with a straight stick and a ring (instead of a puck). It's usually played by girls, but I've seen the games get just as rough as the boys!! :)

Gina: you must be so proud of your DS, sounds like he's got some talent!

kriscar - so glad your okay!!

Gina - that is great!! brag away. I spun Flag/Rifle in HS, so I get the total excitment of that!!

Nothing new here.

I should be making my final payment this friday, which is exciting. Just need the Wishes party and then I really have a wait.

DS graduated last june, so we dont have school stuff going to to distract us. We are in the process of getting him is liscense. He didnt want to drive for the longest time. Now that most of his friends are going to school a few hours away, he cant wait to drive. :rotfl:

Work is getting whomp stomping busy, which is a good thing. :woohoo:

I hope everyone is doing good and we will think good thoughts everyones way!

Woohoo!! I made some changes!!

I booked an ADR at Chef Mickey's for Valentine's Day at 6:40pm. This is our AK day and I had originally booked Tusker House but changed my mind.

I cancelled Chef Mickey's for Feb 13, which was our DHS day. I want to get to the park at opening and an ADR at 9:10am didn't make any sense. That's why I moved Chef Mickey's to the following day since I still really wanted to go. Also, we have dinner ADR (Fantasmic package) at 3:10pm on DHS day which will be combined lunch/dinner so I didn't wanna have a big buffet BF that same day.

This also means that we don't have to pay OOP (which we would have at TH) :yay:

It felt good to do something :)

Now back to the waiting. . . . . . . . . . . .
