I am, of course! I hope a lot of our regular award show Disers remember to watch and join in on the thread!!

I'm going to send the PM reminders to the regular award show Disers tomorrow. :goodvibes :surfweb:

For everyone else - that does NOT mean this is a clique thread. :snooty: On the last award show thread for the Oscars, I said that I would send out a reminder PM to anyone who wanted one. That's all. Everyone is invited. :dance3: We like to have a full, fun house here. :yay: Everyone has their favorite dresses - err, I mean actors, they are rooting for or DISsing. ;)

It's already time for this again, lol.

It almost slipped by. I just happened to watch a commercial for it yesterday, and thought is it Emmy time already?

signing in now. Looking forward to it guys! See you guys tomorrow evening Red Carpet starts at 6!

6?? Eeps! I got the time wrong. I thought it was an awfully long Red Carpet on E! when I looked at the TV listings. Going to change the OP now.

oh yeah, it normally starts on E! around 5pm, no celebrities, but Ryan and the gang are on the Red Carpet getting ready. But the celebrities start arriving around 6pm.

I'm watching!

I almost forgot about it as well untl I drove through Beverly Hills yesterday.:scared1:

I passed the Peninsula hotel, The Beverly Hilton and drove down Wilshire Blvd near Rodeo Drive yesterday. It was insane!

:tiptoe:

Rumour has it that it will also be on in Oz.....live. Might need to check my TV guide tonight and see.

4 hours red carpet???

:faint:

Update

Just checked my TV Guide. Looks like its broadcasting from 9 am. Hopefully it's broadcasting live and the same stream as the US.

I'll probably be later than 9 am...but will jump right in, as always.

I'll at least watch an hour of it. I've got to get up at 4:15 tomorrow to go to work. Grrrrrr...I'll have to go to bed by 9:00. Why can't they put these things on TV on Saturday night????

I think the reason they don't put award shows on Saturday is because they fear ratings might not be good because people could out doing something else.

They got some crazy stuff this year:

The stars who came by the Nokia Theatre to rehearse for Sunday's ceremony were invited backstage to the HP Touchsmart Gift Lounge, where HP gave away notebook computers and made a donation to the TV academy's nonprofit foundation for each celeb who stopped by.

Actor David Boreanaz of TV's "Bones" came to the suite with his family in the morning and was among the stars who collected bedazzled toasters, sneakers made from recycled plastic water bottles, designer sunglasses, Centrum vitamins, Nautica watches and a $700 hair dryer.

At the Four Seasons Hotel across town, the HBO Luxury Lounge was a crowded, multi-room affair that drew LL Cool J, Loretta Devine, who won an Emmy for her guest-starring role on "Grey's Anatomy," ''Mad Men" creator Matthew Weiner and veteran actress Cloris Leachman, among others.

Guests could retreat to a mini spa, where L'Oreal provided manicures, makeovers, hairdos and hot shaves. They could sip cocktails inspired by HBO shows such as "True Blood" and "Boardwalk Empire" in the Klipsch listening lounge; and they could gather lots of goodies, from handbags to headphones to high-end baby strollers.

Among the offerings: UppaBaby's $680 Vista stroller (outfitted with shock absorbers and an organic bassinet with a pull-out sun shade); rare and red-carpet-ready blue diamonds from jeweler Sophia Fiori; Brahmin leather handbags (popular Saturday with actress Melissa Joan Hart and TV personality Samantha Harris); indestructible steel "True Blood" headphones by V-MODA; and vegan footwear from Michael Antonio Shoes.

Great! I was hoping they'd show it in Oz and that you'd get to join us again. :yay:

The Red Carpet is only 2 hours.

The Red Carpet is the best part anyway.

To those new to the award show threads, the Red Carpet segment goes really fast and furious, with all of us typing & posting really quickly at the same time
8de13594.gif
as we only have about 45 seconds to talk about a particular dress or tux before moving onto the next. Also, the Red Carpet is shown on 2 different stations, so people are watching different dresses at the same time and posting about it.

If you post a question or comment and it seems like everybody is ignoring you, :( or the "clique" is talking amongst themselves and leaving you out, :hyper2: that is NOT happening. When there is a commercial break or lull in the action, that is when everyone scrolls back to read what comments they missed :surfweb: and everyone responds to each other.

Just wait for the commercial break. People will like or hate the same outfits or actors. Other people won't know who a particular actor is either. Someone will answer. The pace during the award show segment slows down. Once you get the rhythm, it's really a fun thread. :woohoo:

I will be here again :thumbsup2 It's so much more fun watching with everyone here, no one else in my house is interested, especially the Red Carpet stuff.

Thanks Imzadi for setting this up again!
