~*~*~*~*The Official DECEMBER 2015 Thread*~*~*~*~

It's heat transfer vinyl. I have machines that I can design cuts, cut them out and iron them on. I will say, a heat press is recommended because it applies better pressure and higher overall heat. Some of mine started to lift after we came back, but they did last the trip and I can iron the portions down that lifted. That particular design was smaller so it stayed in place, the shirts are just as good now as when we first wore them. The $20 would be cheaper, or see if you can find someone that just sells the designs you can iron yourself, the machine I use is around $250. Plus there is a learning curve. I only did it because I have it anyways and have used it for a long time, getting it just for trips I don't think I could justify.

haha oh, so much is justified by Disney ! I have a few friends who have a cricut(?) so I might go that route of borrowing. I like this idea, thank you so much!

If you do make sure you check out the new web based program for Cricut, you can buy some images through that and they have Disney files. Then of course you can size them the way you want and everything. If you do decide to make your own and use heat transfer vinyl, never forget to mirror your image! lol I've cut some beautiful designs and the words were backwards when I got ready to apply them.

Haha yes thank you, great tip! I totally see myself doing that. I have grand ideas...that always have some crazy flaw ;)

Hi! I'm joining in on the December 2015 planning fun. I'll be in WDW from December 25th-January 2nd with 8 members of my immediate/extended family! I can't wait to be back home, after living in Orlando while doing 2 College program Internships with Disney.

With good touring plans you can enjoy the crowds and still see a lot. It will still be nothing in comparison to Christmas week when the parks reach capacity and close.

Still pretty new to DIS. Not sure if it's OK to ask but is there a particular touring plan site that you would recommend to a newbie? My party of 3 will be vacationing 11/30 - 12/6 and I'm starting to worry that I have "First Timer Do It ALL Syndrome" :scared:

Our FP window hasn't opened up yet. I don't know if I should do a touring plan first or get FP then do a touring plan.

I use "Touring Plans" for my touring plans.

For a first timer, I'd recommend using their site first....enter the attractions you want to hit at a given park, evaluate the estimated wait times, then choose your FP selections based on those that are the longest.

Alternatively, you can plan your FPs for those attractions that are "must do" for your family, then fill in with the attractions you'd "like to do"

There's a great thread on the DIS for prioritizing FP selections; the first few posts will give you tons of info in the process itself.

And feel free to ask any questions here!

Just a few days left before I get to make fastpasses!! I've spent all morning and half the afternoon going over my touring plan and trying to figure out the best times to schedule. Me: obsessed? Not one bit. :surfweb:

My biggest struggle is that the things my dd7 wants to do have the longest lines, so ds14 is going to be irritated. I'm torn between making alternative FP+ just for him (on rides without long lines, so I feel like he doesn't really need FP+ for them) or letting him wander and ride on his own while we do some things he isn't interested in.

WOW I have a lot to catch up on! First, could my info in the roll call please be updated? It was 12/10-12/16 at POR and it's now 12/10-12/18 at POFQ. Thanks! :worship:

Is everyone getting so excited?! It's almost here!! Since my family, friends, and non-Disney loving pals are probably sick of me sending them our itinerary for the trip, I will share it with you guys since we're all equally as crazy here. :hippie: I was lucky to score $16 (one-way) JetBlue tickets for our flights because it's the first flight ever out of my local airport and they wanted to celebrate!! That's how this whole trip started actually. It went from a practically free flight long weekend to over a week, haha. Oh well, you can't keep me away. So since they're only doing one flight per day I had to settle with an evening flight rather than the usual early morning one I prefer, but that's ok. Here we go...

12/10: Dinner at Sassagoula, if we're feeling perky then a trip to Downtown Dis or Epcot for EMH.
12/11: HS for the new Sci-Fi b'fast, a few rides, back to the hotel for some r&r and QS lunch before MVMCP! QS dinner at the party.
12/12: AK for the day w/QS b'fast and lunch, AKL to check out the decorations and dinner at Boma.
12/13: New brunch at Narcoossee's (SO excited for this), monorail resort hop to check out the decorations, Trader Sam's, Downtown Dis for the evening w/QS dinner (most likely our fav holiday sandwich at Earl of Sandwich), Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar.
12/14: HS for the day w/QS b'fast and lunch, Minnie's Holiday Dine w/Fantasmic!
12/15: WL to check out the decorations and b'fast at Whispering Canyon, MK for the day w/QS lunch and dinner (or Skipper Canteen if it's open).
12/16: Epcot for the day w/QS b'fast and holiday food booths for lunch, Candlelight Processional Dinner Package w/Via Napoli, Holiday Illuminations.
12/17: B'fast at Captain's Grille, check out BoardWalk resorts decorations, QS lunch and dinner, pop back to the resort to pack, HS for Merry & Bright Dessert Party!
12/18: QS b'fast, Downtown Dis for lunch at Morimoto and Star Wars at AMC!

Chrimmassssssssssssssssss c'mon! Can't wait. Ok, going to go back and read what I missed and check out others plans. Fun fun! :santa:

don't mean to sound like a "duh" but is there a different illuminations for the holidays vs. not? I knew there was a difference for Wishes but did not know illuminations would be different. Thanks for any info you can provide....like when will that start? Will it be all December?

As far as I know, it's just an extended holiday-themed ending to the regular show. :santa:

I agree with everything Cluelyss said

Got my first Mickey mail yesterday! The little booklet telling about your trip. I was so excited that I almost goofed & showed it to DH... then realized it said we're staying at the CR. He still thinks we're staying at WL. Oops! This is a hard secret to keep! :P

81 days... it's taking too long!

Managed to score flights with Southwest using points, added bonus was it was cheaper to fly in the night before we originally planned!

New dates 12/3-12/7

12/3-Fly in late, arrive at 11:30p
12/4-Character breakfast at Cape May, then we'll tour the Christmas decorations at the hotels and head to DTD for dinner at Raglan Road
12/5-No morning plans so probably more DTD, early dinner then DISApalooza event
12/6-Sleep in and get as much rest as we can from the night before, early lunch at WCC then MVMCP
12/7-Fly home at 3p

Still waiting on hotel discounts to open up before we decide on a place to stay but I do know it will be off property. I may try and get my tickets for MVMCP changed to 12/4 now that the live Podcast is not going to be in the parks so we can attend.

I have a question about online check-in.

I read somewhere that Disney was planning online check-in so that when you checked in online and then arrive at the resort, you could go directly to your room instead of going to the "online check-in" desk. In the article, it mentioned that this would be in effect as of March 2015 and for all resorts except FW. We are staying at GF in December so was wondering if this plan went through as planned.

As anyone else heard anything about this? Is it in effect and working? Does it work that simply?

Thank you in advance for those that shed light on this.

We've been able to do this on our last 3 trips - YC in May and CR a few weeks ago.
