The OFFICIAL December 2014 - Christmas Magic

Anyone flying Southwest or Air Tran? Flights are out there, but the pickings seem pretty slim compared to the previous times we have went to WDW. Wondering if what's out there is it, or if some flights are yet to be released.

We are flying Southwest out of Buffalo. Jetblue was actually marginally cheaper this time, but I went with Southwest because there is a slight chance dh might not be able to get one of the vacation days he needs and then we would need to switch dates. With Southwest we can switch for no fees.
Anyway, I booked a few days after they opened our dates. Prices we ok. I think I paid 1100 for the 4 of us after all was said and done (from Buffalo). However by the next morning those flights had more than doubled in price and haven't budged.
The Southwest anniversary sale is this time of year and will be your best bet to see a price drop. It's on June 10th. Be ready to book the minute those flights open up:).

We are flying SW into Tampa it's on 45 min drive and WAY cheaper!!!! We were planning on renting a car anyways

Southwest is having a sale this morning that covers some December dates. My flights are still the same but I thought I would mention it in case anyone can get a credit or still hasn't booked. I believe it only covered flights up until December 17th.

My return trip is $99 so I'm buying. DD 11 is going down with a friend's family in September. We bought their flights home last month at $118 one way and this morning their flight down is $99 so I'm trying to reach the friend's mom to get the okay to buy those.

Made my ADR's this morning. Got everything we wanted...except BOG. Never have had a problem getting a dinner reservation there at 180 days before so I am not sure whats going on. If anybody plans to get rid of one or sees one available on 12/3 for dinner please let me know.

We're officially booked!!! :banana::yay::cheer2:

Its the DBF and me this trip (our first together) and our dates our 12/14-12/21 at Sports! Our 180 day mark is June 17th!

Is anyone planning on doing the Sleigh Ride at FW or one of the holiday tours (Holiday D-Light or Yuletide Fantasy)? Or done it in the past? I've been around Christmas before and wanted to do something else instead of just CP, Osborne Lights, etc. (if not, I'm okay with just repeating the Wishes Dessert Party)

TIA!
Lauern

What the sleigh ride at FW? Sounds like fun!

Kittykienan, gracerussell, jcemom, where are you all flying from? :confused3

I paid $400 ea round trip, on Virgin America, from So Cal. Hope I didn't pay too much! :furious:

For anyone going early December, the park hours are out on Disney's website! They go up to December 9th. Enjoy!!

Since no one thanked you yet, I will! :thumbsup2 THANKS!

I'm also so STOKED we got our RT airfare for $224 each! I haven't paid under $300 or more closer to $400 RT in over a decade! I don't know HOW I lucked on it, well, yes I do, airfarewatchdog dot com gave me the heads up. I'm still in disbelief I got all 4 of us flying for under a grand. :dance3:

Pittsburgh.

I reached DD's friend's mom, and she gave me the go-ahead to purchase their tickets, so their September flights are taken care of. We got them for $217 per person round trip. :cool1:

My SIL is going in November. Right now her flights are $231 and $165, so we are going to wait and hope that those drop further. :scratchin

I am going in December, and it's looking like a solo trip at the moment. I got my flight down at $118 and my flight home at $99, so $217 round trip. :cool1:

Yeah, that is awesome, but it depends where you are flying from? If your flying from the west coast, I'll just start kicking myself right now! :rotfl:

I just checked for you and nothing is available. :confused3 I only see 8:25 PM on 12/6 and that's as far as I can go.

If anybody wants the 8:25 PM & can't make ADRs yet, PM me and I'll hold it for you.

That's one thing I never do. Once I buy, I do NOT look at airfare anymore. I set an amount I'll jump at if and when it gets to that amount, and then I look no further. If I'm happy w/ what I got, I'll leave it at that and not torture myself if there was one day or 2 where it dipped lower. Don't torment yourself! Just be happy!:hyper: It's in your user name after all. ;)

I do, esp with southwest. Our fares in 2012 dropped by nearly $100 per person. I switched the tickets to the new fare and the next June we used the funds to fly us to Baltimore to visit DC for only $29 more a person. But if you aren't looking to go somewhere else, I wouldn't check. SWA just makes it so easy with no penalties to switch.

AHHH. I usually don't fly SW so I've never known about this part. Good to know. I'll have to check on the 1 leg I booked w/ them for a short Sept business trip then. THANKS for the info!

Yeah you don't get the money back, but you can use it for up to a year from the time you first booked. We had set a budget and got tix I was happy with. A fare sale hit in nov before our dec trip and I snagged the difference. DH had wanted to go to DC so it worked out for us. :)
