The OFFICIAL December 2014 - Christmas Magic

Count me in for December! We were originally supposed to go in September for our 4 year anniversary and for the Halloween festivities but I had to move the trip due to my boyfriend being injured at work. I detailed that saga here. So I'm back to square one with all my plans and ADRs. :crazy2:

We are currently booked for a pool view room at Animal Kingdom Lodge (so excited to stay here!) for December 1-9, although I will probably narrow that down to 5 nights/6 days. It's my first time staying Deluxe for an actual vacation! It is also my boyfriend's first trip as an adult and our first vacation together! He was there once as a child but the only thing he remembers is being terrified on HM. :rotfl:

My goal this trip is to make my boyfriend love Disney as much as I do. He is soooo not a ride person. He won't go on any big roller coasters. I have been trying to tell him that most Disney rides are not like that. He didn't like the small starter coaster at our local Six Flags. I'm hoping I'll be able to get him on a few of the mountains at least. My crowning achievement will be EE and TOT. I know I won't get him on RNR even though he loves Aerosmith. I will sure try though! So I really want to find some magical non-ride related activities for us to do so he can see that WDW is so much more.

So our MNSSHP trip to celebrate our anniversary has turned into our MVMCP trip to celebrate my birthday. My last vacation to WDW was in 2010 this very same week also to celebrate my birthday with my BFF. Hoping it is a little warmer this time! It was COLD that year!!!

I will likely start a PTR soon and I also sent a request for the FP group (still waiting on approval). I look forward to sharing plans/excitement/ideas with you all!

Happy to find this group! I am a total newbie to the boards but not Disney! We are taking my 4 year old for her 2nd visit to the Kingdom Dec 12-18th! It's been quite awhile since I've been at Christmas and I am especially looking forward to seeing her experience all of the lights and decorations! We're staying CBR due to her love if Pirates, anyone else????

We are going Dec. 13-19 and taking our 4 year old DD for her 2nd trip to WDW!!!! We are staying at Old Key West and we have never been during Christmas (for some reason we always go when it is steaming hot lol) I am very excited the DD is old enough for the BBB, I cant wait to bring her for her princess makeover, and all she has been talking about lately is getting a dress "just like Cinderella" and a few weeks ago I found a Cinderella costume on sale at the Disney outlet!!! Cant wait to suprise her!!! princess:

How funny! My DD is going to the BBB for the first time too, so excited! What day will you guys be there? We're there on the 18th to prepare for CRT!

Got with my TA on this and they do not offer this on a Sunday night (which is the night I am looking for) looks like I am back to square one.......:badpc:

Hmmm :scratchin.......what about booking a nice after dark Candlelight Processional Dinner Package at Epcot? Or one of the special fireworks cruises? Besides the Pirates & Pals (which probably isn't quite what you had in mind for their celebration, lol) I know you can book a private boat cruise for fireworks viewing....that might be really nice and special! Maybe book a special holiday carriage ride at Wilderness? I'll let you know if anything else pops in my head ;)

We are going to BBB on the 14th at 10:30 since we have CRT that evening at 5:30. We are doing MVMCP on the 18th and of course we are all going to be decked out in our Christmas garb!!!! I think we are going to do fastpass to meet Anna and Elsa on the 14th as well since she will be all dressed up for pictures. I am also excited she is tall enough to ride most of the rides this trip. Only thing I am worried about is that DH and I are foster parents and as of right now we currently do not have any foster children in the home but come December we may. We only take age 2 and under so if we had a placement it would be an infant/toddler, does Disney still do baby swap? Last time we took DD at age 2 we took our babysitter with us so we always had someone to watch her if we wanted to go on a "big" ride, this time we are taking my Mom and Sister who are not so eager to sit out a "big" ride with the kids lol.

The sleigh ride seems like more of what I had in mind (since DH hates boats, I seriously had to bribe him to go on our Disney cruise and he only went because it was a Large boat and he still freaked lol) I looked online and it looks like our party is larger then the limit for the sleigh, but I may call and see if they can accomidate us with maybe 2 sleighs going at the same time, or something like that.

Yes Disney does still offer ride swap passes.

PrincessSophiamom - have you ever gone on the Pirates and Pals fireworks cruise? I'm going on it with my DD as a special surprise, she is going to flip! She loves Caption Hook, Mr. Smee & Peter Pan!

I have actually never even heard of it!!! OK so DD loves Mr. Smee (she flipped out when she got to meet him on our cruise) Tell me more, what do you do? I may be able to see if DH wants to let all of us girls go on it and he can have some solo park time since he does not like boats.

I'm so excited!! I just ordered the t-shirts my friend and I will wear to MVMCP.

They will look like..

With the Christmas lights like the ones in the picture below..

This is the review/article that convinced me to book this for our arrival night of our upcoming trip:

Very cute shirts!

Thank you.

Love the shirts!!!! Did you get them off ETSY? I want to get some that look like peppermint for the Mickey head.

I did. I was originally going to get different t-shirts from a woman off of FB that made the appliques for the t-shirts my family wore to MNSSHP last year. I just got tired of me sending that person a message, her telling me she would get back to me soon, then her not getting back to me until I messaged her. Even then, the message was just that she would get back to me soon.

Oh, and I am going to paint the Christmas lights with glow in the dark paint that matches the light of the each bulb, so they will glow different colors once it gets dark. I'm thinking of outlining the Minnie head and bow in the "natural" glow in the dark paint.

I accidentally came across it on disneyworld.com when I was searching Pirates. You have desserts and snacks while there is a meet and greet with Hook & Smee. After the meet and greet you board a boat to watch the fireworks and water pageant on the water and there's trivia on board from what I understand. Then when you come back to the dock Peter Pan is waiting for you!

Such adorable shirts! Love the glow in the dark paint idea. You will need to get pictures of them in the dark.
