The Official Dec. 2010 Code Watch

I haven't read through this entire thread so this may have been covered but. ... last year there was a code that came out for APers in June, that I believe was for 40% off, because I booked BLT for Christmas in June and I don't book without a discount. I know that prior to last year the codes didn't come out until August. Does anyone know why last year was different and if we can expect them to go back to coming out in August?

I'm new to this site, so I hope I did this right. I'm a Disney fanatic of 25 years old, but I have never been to either parks. I have never planned a trip like this before, and feel way over my head. I'm getting married Dec 4th, and am planning a honeymoon to Disney World for the 5th to the 11th. I've been to offical Disney pages, set up accounts, but got no codes in the email:( I've been to mousesavers, and did my best to absorb all that information. I haven't found any codes for the month of December, but don't know how long I should wait to book. Nor do I know if I should book through mousesavers or offical Disney agents. looking at everything, the French Quarter looks like the one I want. I am a college student studying to be a youth minister, so money is somewhat limited. I'm just not sure what all to do. I don't want to go there and find that I'm hindered because of things I haven't expected, but I don't want to spend money on things that aren't really important, and then not have as much left for the unexpected... any sugestions.

Welcome to DISBoards and congrats on your upcoming wedding!
POFQ is very romantic-perfect for a honeymoon! Let me know if you have any specific questions! I'll be glad to help you any way I can!:thumbsup2

French Quarter is small and my favorite for that reason. The problem is they fill up quick, so don't wait. If discounts come out after you book they will see if they can apply it to your account. I would think of an alternative just in case. I hope that helps!

HI there! Im new to the boards.. been to disney over 25 times. and love it every time! We will be going dec 2nd-dec 10th staying at saratoga springs... on wait list for BLT and BWV!

I see many people are hoping for FD in December. I've read it was offered last year as well, but was it only for AP holders or for general public?

not passholders. I don't think it's ever offered to just them. Last year it started as a pin, then I think it went to Visa holders, then the general public

Thank you jenseib! Might be able to talk my hubby into a December trip...just maybe!;)

I'm also keeping an eye out for a FD extension... wondering if FD will save more $ than the 40% PIN on a deluxe. Anyone have a guess? Am I waiting for nothing?

It depends on how many in your party. For example, if you are staying at a deluxe that is say $340 per night and you are getting 40% off, you are saving $136 per day. If you have only two people in your party, the regular dining plan will cost approximately $84 per day, so 40% off the deluxe is a better deal. If you have two adults and two teens, then Free Dining is a better deal (a $168 per day savings). You have to do the math based on the people (adults and children) in your party.

Heading to the World December 9 - 16, sure hoping free dining gets extended...

I'm booked at POFQ, but I made that booking when I thought it was just me going, now DH has changed his mind and wants the whole family to come, him and two boys 9 and 6, plus me. I'm wondering if I should switch to Coronado Springs (since the website says they have 2 queen sized instead of double sized beds in each room). Never stayed at either resort, so any btdt advice really appreciated!

We are going Dec 10 - 16 & staying at CSR....also hoping for FD. :worship: I'm taking DD & her 2 friends, all 16. We chose CSR because of the queen beds. We stayed at POR when our kids were younger & the beds were fine. I'm sure you will be fine either way. :goodvibes

Hi all! Our plans for earlier in the year have fallen through... :sad2: However, I believe that we should keep moving forward (or maybe just keep swimming?). So, the family is now contemplating a trip for Christmas... I am a Disney Visa holder and I have received pins in the past... is there any chance of a promo deal being available that would cross through the holiday? We are looking to stay from say the 22nd through the 28th... any chance of pixie dust? :confused3

We are using a pin we got for free dining for December that ends the 26th so the pins are out there. Good Luck.

We got it about six weeks ago. This is our 4th year to go at Christmas and there have always been some type of pin available. The pins typically end the 26th. Last year we stayed at the Waldorf because we got such a good deal but every other year we have stayed on site.

We are soooo there.
November 25th-December 4th...

Woo come on AP rate.... please please please

It looks like I might be going back in Dec. for a few days. So I am jumping on board hoping for a discount. The kids have decided that they each want to go with mommy by themselves as they each like doing different things and I work long hours so I don't get to spend much time with them. Who am I to deny them? So DH and I talked and I will take DS 9 in Dec as part of his birthday present before he turns 10 and becomes a Disney adult. I will also buy myself and annual pass for my christmas gift this year. Then next year I will take DS11 and DD6 each on their own then we hope to get one family trip in before my annual pass expires. :cloud9:

Here's hoping for some type of discount. I would love a room only discount as we are not big eaters but will take anything we can get.

I love this plan. Also, if you are buying an annual pass you would probably be able to get a good AP discount on a room...sometimes better then the general public one. :goodvibes
