Gosh, I haven't seen this thread in a long time. What I gathered from the other boards, is that the NBC event on Sat was for the Red Cross and that Clay is more involved in UNICEF. Thus his appearance on the UNICEF program and not the Red Cross.

I also saw the rumors of a possible spring release for the CD. Wonder when summer concert dates will be posted.

I was able to go to the Baltimore JN concert. Since he has stated he wants to do another Christmas concert this year, I will hold off on booking my early Dec WDW trip as long as possible to try to get the chance to see him again in a Christmas concert.

My friend told me about the April/May rumor right after we got back from Disney, and I was a little skeptical about the time frame. I think that started as a supposed conversation a Claymate had with Jerome, backed up by something someone said on Quiana's website or something, but I wasn't getting too excited just yet.

There's an article on Yahoo today here and he said he hopes to be in the studio in March. He says he'd like to spend time choosing songs and things for the next album. I'd be surprised if we get an album that early, to be honest, but hey - anything's possible.


Please, Clay - just don't plan anything big in the middle of July, unless it's taking place in California. Between Disneyland and Half-Blood Prince, I can't take any more excitement at that time!!

Yeah, as much as I'd love a spring CD, I think we're probably looking at a Fall release..... Oh, well, it'll be worth the wait! I remember Clay saying how he was rushed with MOM, so it'd be nice if he can produce this CD as *he'd* like.

I knew you'd get here first!! That is one comprehensive list. As an "old fart" I love Richard Chamberlain(Think Thorn Birds!). I'm thrilled that Clay made the list!

Sorry to run with the report, but it just thrilled me. You can even ask my neighbors...sorry to any of you who might live on my block!

To be quite honest, much as I love him, I was pleasantly shocked to see he actually made the cut. I mean, we're talking lots of teen idols to choose from!! Decades....even generations of them!!

I can't wait to get the actual edition of TV Guide though. I'm curious as to what their standards were, considering Clay neither is/was a teen at that time (of AI), nor is his core demographic the typical teenybopper.

why oh why do people insist that clay is creepy? i get so tired of hearing that from people...it's that damn song! if people would LISTEN to the dang lyrics, they would know he's not stalking some girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i wish people would take the time to find out about him...he's such an amazing person...and i don't say that just because i like him!

LoL - breathe, Brandie. I totally agree with you and wish people would have enough respect for EVERYONE to either learn more about him to make an intelligent argument or just shut up about something/one they clearly know nothing about. I've learned, however, that it's really not worth having an asthma attack trying to defend him. Mind you, learned that the hard way.

(Um, yes, if there's a nerd contest? I'm totally in the top five finalists with that confession.)

On the other hand, I get a little bit of the creep factor from Rod Stewart, for no real good reason. And, naturally, I get a LOT of the creep factor from Claymates...have you BEEN to the Clayboard? Talk about LOONIES!!

I agree that there are some real hardcore Claymates on the Clayboard that are over the top. I do usually read their board frequently and some of those women need to get a life. Who has the time or money to attend nearly all of Clay's concerts, book signings, TV appearances and everywhere else he goes. But there is a group of them that do that. Unfortunately, many people thing all Clay's fans are Claymates. Which in turn reflects on us normal Clay fans.

I forgot to add that I was able to purchase 2 tickets for the JN concert in Baltimore from someone on the Clayboards. This women overnighted the tickets to me before I even had my check out to her, so I would have the tickets in time for the Baltimore concert.

i only hit one or two other boards...and i don't read the stuff they have in the main discussion areas! if i must confess, i read the fanfic... i have a friend who i have talked to online now for a couple years and she's one of the writers...it's sometimes kinda funny to get real life clay confused with fanfic clay! lol

i don't defend him against those who say he's creepy...i've given up. i know that clay's not for everyone...but i would say that 99% of the people who say they think he's creepy are basing it only on the song invisible. they know nothing else of him...and it annoys me...lol

i'm a clay fan, but i'm not loony tunes like some of those gals are! i have a life...i have an amazing husband who i am totally in love with. i don't need a "fantasy" to hang on to...i have the real deal at home! but i still adore clay...his music makes me smile...he's got the most beautiful soul i think i've ever seen...

and while i like barry manilow, i am tired of the "this is what clay aiken's gonna look like in 30 years" line...lol...LET IT GO PEOPLE

Yeah, I visit the Clayboard too, but I just scour for news. As soon as a discussion is longer than three pages, it's usually off to Looneytuneville. Although I do have to say that yes, some of the fans posting there are very nice, very normal, and very thoughtful. My main "Clayfriend" and I started emailing because she posted that someone had stolen her tour program, and she asked if anyone going to a show would be able to get one for her. I offered to buy it, and she sent me the cash (plus extra) before the concert had even happened. Since then, we've mailed surprises back and forth to each other a lot, but she's the one who is always thinking of me. She knows my internet connection is super slow, so whenever she downloads something new that she thinks I'd like, she sends me a copy too. She's also the one who got me a book from the Orlando signing.

It's so cliche to say, but Clay has been one of the few very bright spots over the last 8 months or so for me. With my aunt getting sick and passing away and then losing my Gram three months later, Clay really has been an inspiration and his music just makes me smile. Not in a stalkerish way...just in a "it's nice to have to look forward to" kind of way. My Clayfriend was part of that too, because she always had words of wisdom of her own to share, far beyond the Clay. I hope I can repay all the favors she's done for me someday - I promised her a first edition of my book (WHEN it's published), but I think I'll have to do better than that.

So anyway, point being, yep, the Clayboard has some really sweet, good-intentioned people, along with the nuts. I love the ones that want to start email campaigns to, like, Leno, because he made a joke about Clay. Or they boycott the Grammy awards because he's not nominated. And the ones who have been to dozens of shows? Yeah, um...that's a little scary.

But Brandie, I gotta tell ya....I don't have a wonderful husband at home, so I like a little "fantasy" to hold on to. (And, personally, I'd like it a little better if if the fantasy wanted to hold on, too!!)

I usually read this thread but seldom post but after reading your post Brandie, it reminded me of what my DH said when we were watching Clay's Christmas special with Barry Manilow on it. He commented that as the years go by, Barry is looking more and more like Rod Stewart!!!


I think Clay spoiled AI for me since the first year I watched it was the second season. We also have Canadian Idol here and I compare everyone to Clay...of course nobody else can measure up!!

Does anyone know whether Clay will be on the Grammy's this year?
