*** The Official August 2019 thread ***

Awesome Disney movies on Freeform today. Im recording them all for us to watch while waiting for our trip :) Most excited about Moana. Ive never seen it. (Also Bohemian Rhapsody is free on demand until 7/20. I could watch that movie a million times)

Moana was really good. Did you watch it yet? I'm glad you said that about BR. I saw it free yesterday but didn't get a chance to watch it. I'll have to make sure to do it before the 20th.

Have any of you had good luck using touring plans reservation finder? I've got it searching for a reservation at Sci-Fi Dine In.

Touring Plans reservation finder works pretty good. If i'm on a computer I try to have the disney page open so if I get an alert I can grab it right away. Some of them go really fast.

Anyone else struggling with the decision to skip Galaxy’s Edge and Hollywood Studios all together?

I am. Although the rest of my family doesn't seem to really care about seeing it. When the announcement first came out, I didn't want any parts of HS but the closer we get the more I hope we can see it. But none of us are really willing to wait hours so it probably won't happen.

By the way, I checked the Disney site and there were some new premium band designs that I hadn't seen before, like the Small World,

Oh man. I saw the small world one on the Disney store site but it wasn't on any of the upgraded band options I've seen. I would have loved to get that one. I thought it was so cute! I love that ride!

I picked up some cheap throw away ponchos for our trip today. I also got me a cooling towel. Hubby already had one but I didn't. Our goal is to go as light as possible into the parks. I of course will have my crossbody purse on days I wear legging and don't have pockets, but hubby will utilize his pockets. It will be our first trip backpack free.

Not sure if I've shared my plans in here but this is them in a nutshell:

ADR: Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue at 6:15

Tuesday, August 6th:

Friday, August 9th:

We will most likely hop to other parks on several days. We aren't big EPCOT not HS people, but definitely wanna see some stuff in each of those.

We have a 1:20 ADR for BOG on the 8th :).

Our flight is scheduled to land at MCO at 8:30am. We are taking ME into POP and then heading to Magic Kingdom where we have a BOG ADR for 1:20. If everything is on time....I shouldn't be concerned about rushing around, right?

Got some small deals during Prime Day for our trip. Picked up a portable fan, cheap ponchos, gatorade mix, and sunscreen. Managed to get most of them 20% off!

What do you mean ALMOST time to start packing? We've had some stuff packed for the last month or two lol.

Can you please talk to my husband!? I keep asking him if we can start packing for our trip and he keeps saying no :rotfl2:

Here's our loose plan:

August 14th: arrive at MCO at 8:30pm and board DME to All-Star Movies
August 15th: MK morning to afternoon (FP: Peter Pan, Dumbo, Winnie the Pooh); pool and resort evening
August 16th: Epcot from 10 to around dinner time (FP: Soarin, Living with the Land); Hoping to make it around World Showcase (it would be a first); dinner TBD
August 17th: AK from around 10 to 4:30 (FP: Na'vi River Journey, Animation Station, Festival of the Lion King); pool and resort evening
August 18th: HS early (FP: TSM, Star Tours, 3rd TBD); dinner TBD
August 19th: Plan 1: Morning at MK to about 3pm. Break at the resort. Return to MK for HEA dessert party (garden viewing). Plan 2: Resort/pool/laundry then MK from 4:00 to close including HEA dessert party (garden viewing)
August 20th: use up any left over dining/snack credits, hit the arcade and resort store until Tragical Express comes around 2:00

They changed the closing to late August. The 26th I believe. It was originally the 5th or 6th, but got moved. I was 3 days late on the announcement of that, and everything booked in a flash. Hoping maybe day of there will be something, if not, next time.
Does anyone know if that means the Arcade will still be open?

You should be fine. That would give you almost 5 hours so that should be plenty of time.

This is how ours turned out. When I first put them on they all had tiny little wrinkles and the directions said to use a hairdryer on hot. I worked them very slowly and got 99.9% of the wrinkles out. I’m really happy with how they turned out.
Those look awesome! I especially like the marble looking one. :)
Did you have any trouble with sunscreen making the dye come off? There was a warning about that when I purchased.

We arrive the same day. Looks like we will be in the same park 3 of your days (Sun, Mon, Wed). It's so close now I can taste it.

OK Since everyone is posting their plans, I'm going to follow suit :)
16 - Stop by the Character Warehouse, check in, lunch at the Wave, Dinner in Disney Springs (maybe Chicken Guy...)
17- EP - Lunch at Via Napoli, FP - Test Track, Living with the Land, Meet Mickey
18- MK - late breakfast at Crystal Palace, FP - SDMT, Big Thunder, HM
19 - HS - EMM for Toy Story Land - lunch at Sci Fi, FP - TSM, Star Tours, Tower of Terror
20 - AK - Dinner at the Rainforest Cafe (although this may change...), FP - FOP, Safari, Dinosaur
21 - Pool day or maybe hit a waterpark, Disney Springs if it's raining, Breakfast at Ohana
22- EP - Bon Voyage Breakfast at Trattoria al Forno, Dinner at San Angel, FP- Soarin', Mission Space, SE
23 - MK morning, HS later - dinner is being decided - either Hollywood and Vine or Brown Derby, FP- SDD, Rockin Rollercoaster, Star Tours
24 - AK - Breakfast at the Grand Floridian Cafe , FP- Animation, FOP, Dinosaur
25- MK - no sit down meal, FP - SDMT, Peter Pan, Space Mountain
26 - Chef Mickey Breakfast, then Tragical Express with many tears...

We've never been to the Brown Derby so I'd really like to try it, but I have two ridiculously picky eaters in tow, so H&V is the safer choice... anyone been to Brown Derby recently?
I'm also not crazy about going to the Rainforest Cafe. We did T Rex before and it was LOUD in there. There's a member of our party with sensitive ears, and they had to leave the table for a while to escape all the noise. It ended up not being a pleasant experience - so I'm a little nervous this may be similar. (Other "loud" restaurants like Chef Mickey's didn't seem to be a problem, so I'm not sure if it's all noise or if the lights and stuff made it a sensory overload.) I'm wondering if it might be worth it to try to get to Disney Springs for a dinner and then we could head back if we want to see Pandora at night...

Good morning! I was just looking at the Roll call and I see I never updated our stay!
We are at WL from 8/16 - 8/24 and then BC from 8/24 - 8/31.
Which means... we leave a month from today! WOOHOO!!!:cool1:

Just DD 19 and me this time. She is a Musical Theatre major and Performer so has to spend a lot of time with characters and loves the parade and stage shows. So we spend a lot of time doing this when DH is not with us. He hates the waiting around for the characters.
