*** The Official August 2019 thread ***

We will be there 8/27 through 9/2! Booked in January with free dining. Should we skip Hollywood Studios or try to go during the extra early morning magic hours (6am to 9am)? We typically go in August to avoid the heavy crowds. Anyone else struggling with the decision to skip Galaxy’s Edge and Hollywood Studios all together?

:confused3

Ooh! THANK you for this tip! I've never tried these before and I have a feeling I am going to need all the help I can get. :) DD is not only a Stitch fan, she's a mini 626 herself most of the time...
This is how ours turned out. When I first put them on they all had tiny little wrinkles and the directions said to use a hairdryer on hot. I worked them very slowly and got 99.9% of the wrinkles out. I’m really happy with how they turned out.

I haven't booked CRT in a while. What are the chances these days on getting a better time in the day for CRT? Currently sitting a 4:35, but would like something in the 5-645 range.

I still say supper, but have to admit, my cellar is now a basement! One thing Ill never understand is where "Wicked Pissah" came from Ive never said nor heard it, but I see it on Tshirts!
Too funny. My DH still says supper, but at some point I moved onto dinner. I still slip and say cellar quite often. I don't know how 'Wicked Pissah' started either :scratchin, but the Christmas Tree Shop has a ton of Wicked Pissah adorned merchandise. I've always wondered who buys it.

I live in Alabama but was born in Illinois. I moved to Texas when I was 8 and Alabama when I was 10 or 11 and I say Supper. A lot of people here say dinner though.

Not sure if I've shared my plans in here but this is them in a nutshell:

Resort hop to Poly and Grand Flrodian
ADR: Whispering Canyon Cafe at 5:55

ADR at Beaches and Cream at 3:00

Monday, August 5th:

ADR: Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue at 6:15

Tuesday, August 6th:

FPS: Peter Pans Flight, Seven Dwarfs, Buzz Lightyear,
ADR: BOG at 1:00

Friday, August 9th:
Animal Kingdom
FPS: FOP, Kali River, Dinosaur

We will most likely hop to other parks on several days. We aren't big EPCOT not HS people, but definitely wanna see some stuff in each of those.

I have to get my plans together to share with you all! We usually fly to WDW, but we wanted to try something a little different this time and we are taking the train down! We book a room on the train, and my fiance and I are super excited about this little adventure before the adventure haha!

My DD and her family are taking the auto train for the first time. They are super excited for their travel adventure as well !

My plans!

Best Western Lake Buena Vista
Tue - Dinner Raglan Rd

Wed - Discovery Cove (DD will be a trainer for the day!)

Thu - Sea World

Fri - Aquatica Water Park (Hoping to Score a late lunch /dinner at Beaches & Cream)
Unfortunately, it looks like Beaches and Cream is going to under refurb starting early August. I had read that they'll be setting up an alternate ice cream location somewhere nearby, but it won't have the full menu of Beaches and Cream.

They changed the closing to late August. The 26th I believe. It was originally the 5th or 6th, but got moved. I was 3 days late on the announcement of that, and everything booked in a flash. Hoping maybe day of there will be something, if not, next time.

I keep seeing everyone’s plans / I’m still going and moving things around lol
As of now
Aug 1 arrive about 8 pm
Aug 2 - trying out SeaWorld
Aug 3 - AK
August 4 - MK and DS gets back to school haircut at Harmony Barber Shop

It's never too early to start planning, right? Since it is now August 2018, I know lots of us Disney addicts will be booking bouncebacks, or planning to take full advantage of our AP's, and so the August 2019 trips will be entering the planning stages shortly, so come on in, and have some fun planning for next summer!

As a companion to this August 2019 thread, we also have a facebook group HERE.

Aug 23 -31 Just me and DH OKW

Oh no, I had no idea they moved it! I missed that announcement or I would definitely have tried as well!

Holy cow, so much action in this thread today!

Yay! Magic Bands arrived! We had two premium bands and two solid colors. DD was disappointed that she couldn't get the Stitch band, so I've ordered her a decal to go over her band that looks similar to the design she wanted. Keeping my fingers crossed that I can get it on smoothly and it holds up for her. :)
Anyone else checking the park hours to double check on EMH and other changes to the schedules?

The tips I have, first, clean the magic bands good. I did mine with soap and water, then dried them, then wiped them down with a lint free cloth and rubbing alcohol. Dried them again, thoroughly, and then applied the decals. When handling the decals, try to handle them just by the edges, not touching the adhesive bits any more than absolutely necessary. Get them lined up as straight as possible, then use a hair dryer to help soften them, and work the wrinkles out of them.

26 days for us. DD has a week of summer camp next week and when she gets back the real Disney packing will begin. I've thrown a few things together, cooling towels, ponchos etc that we don't currently need but nothing too major yet. Since we're sharing plans...

Aug 17 Home  fly out at 1:30.

We will be in Epcot on the 11th, and MK on the 13th

Hello, we are late to join in because we are going to WDW totally unexpectedly. We booked our trip on Friday and our stay will be August 20 -24. We normally stay on site but this trip we will be at the Hilton Lake Buena Vista. So we are on the fast planning track, lol. We did out FP process yesterday and then today I checked MDE and was able to grab AVATAR!!! So Excited. We also have a 6:30 PM Safari and mid afternoon Kali River Rapids while it is hot and we can dry off. We have also decided to attend the SWGSDP, thought it would be a nice end to our day and it is also closing soon. Another fun fact, we have a water park pass from 2000, never used so due to hot weather we shall finally use it. Can you tell I am excited, what's nicer than an unexpected trip to WDW and an AVATAR FP.

Unexpected trip woo hoo! You've been added to the Roll Call.

I'll share my plans! Also share my daily countdown I seem to be posting here, 31 days now!

Aug 15 - land at 8:30am. Disney Springs and dinner res at Narcoossee's at 8pm to watch fireworks!
Aug 16 - MK. BOG lunch res
Aug 17 - Hollywood Studios. Hopping to Epcot for Via Napoli res
Aug 18 - Animal Kingdom
Aug 19 - Epcot. Garden Grill PPO that I'm still trying to move up. San Angel dinner. AK after hours at night!
Aug 20 - Rest day. V&A dinner
Aug 21 - MK. Liberty Tree lunch res
Aug 22 - Hollywood Studios. MK after hours!
Aug 23 - Epcot in morning. Flight home at 9pm :(

So we managed to squeeze 2 days for each park and a rest day! The after hours events are saving us a full park day as we can squeeze all the rides in that day, and use the other full day to do the other smaller things.

We are also in MK on the 16th

We are 1 month away! Just me and my 2 older boys before they return to college. Youngest does not enjoy Disney as much so did not want to go. 🤦‍♀️

This will be our first time in August, first time staying at Pop, first time ordering groceries (Instacart or Prime Now? Would love suggestions) and thinking of adding MNSSHP (first time) but concerned because of the heat and crowds since we can only attend on the 16th.

So excited to find the group, love all the suggestions to deal with the heat, which is the one thing I am not looking forward to.😅

We are going to MNSSHP on the 16th. I'm sure it will be hot, and crowded, but it will still be fun. We went to the first party last year, and enjoyed it.

Sorry we will miss you at Via Napoli. We've never eaten there before, so something new for us to try. I'm a bit uncertain about it, though I've read some good things about it, I work for a pizza shop, which won the USA Today readers award for the best pizza in NY last year. . . might be ugly lol. The Character Outlet is absolutely as good as folks here say it is. Not too hard to get to. There is a Tim Tracker video that shows a pretty good idea of how to find it once you have made it to the outlet center. You can take World Center Drive East to International Drive North, and then watch for Vineland Ave on your left. That will get you to the outlets. The Character Outlet is just on the other side of the food court, to the right.

They look great. We are waiting on our magic bands to complete ours.
