Tonight at midnight I get to pick our FP+ and even though I have spent a ton of time planning I still feel unprepared! I am probably over thinking the whole trip...no matter what happens we will still be at Disney though!! It will all work out!

I was definitely overthinking it. I went with the advice in this post and it might help you, too:

I hear you... Our window opens tonight too and I'm trying to be sure of our plans. It is hard not to second-guess, especially for the AK stuff. Remember the reasons you chose which park for which day, based on the calendars and ADRs, and it will go great. Good luck!

I'm still making some adjustments, but glad I stuck with my original plan for the FPs instead of making changes right before selecting them! Good luck tonight!

Ohhh....a little over a month away until our spring break trip! My husband and I are so giddy with excitement! This is the first time we have truly surprised our kids with a trip! It will be our 2-year-olds first visit! The kids know we are doing something fun but they think it's a day trip and/or just an overnight adventure. We made a book for them and are going to give it to them to read (our other kids are 8 and 6) on the way to the airport. Our oldest has been asking if we can take little sister to Disney this year and we keep saying no because it's so expensive. It is such a hard secret but we can't wait to see their faces/excitement that day when we finally spill the beans! Counting down...

40 days out... my kids still do not know! I'm trying to keep it a secret but it's so hard. They keep asking when can we go back to WDW, so we've told them maybe for Thanksgiving. That way if we slip up and say something about going to Disney, we can pretend it's in reference to TG and not April! In the mean time, I took oldest DD shopping for comfy walking shoes and will take youngest DD next week. I told them we need to go clothes shopping for comfy shorts as well...... I keep telling them we are going to spend a few days in New Orleans walking around the French Quarter, so they need comfy stuff for 'all that walking.' I'm hoping that flies and they don't put two and two together!!!!

I know! I think we really might burst! Right now their guess is we're going to Great Wolf Lodge overnight. We definitely plan on recording their response. We know how excited they will be so it's hard to plan and not include them. I did ask awhile ago what their favorite restaurant was - recommending for a friend was my excuse - so we could splurge and have one character meal. They suggested Ohana. I must admit, I do have the kids stuff almost entirely packed! The suitcases are hidden in our bedroom currently. The advantage of living in MI is that there is no need for shorts/t-shirts right now so I have no problem washing and packing summer stuff!

We decided not to find out the gender of our 3rd child. It was amazing. I told my husband if we could wait for that, I certainly think I should be able to keep Disney a secret! LOL

Ok so this morning's new discount- switched from a 2 bedroom villa in Old Key West to a 2 bedroom villa in Saratoga Springs, added another day in the park and still got a huge discount.

Was able to get a ADR for the new day in a place we wanted and FP+ for the extra day is good. It must be slow at the parks in April.

I love it when it is not as busy and the resorts compete for your stay.

I'm intrigued - are there new discounted rates on the Disney site, or are you booked through a TA?

I check every day on the special offers. Always have been 11 total This morning there were 12, I switched the resorts online (MDE) and it allowed the offer. Maybe I got lucky and there was a cancellation? Remember the 2 offers that ended Sunday are gone which should have left 9 offers, it has 12. Sorry if confusing

I was paid in full also, refund is going to Disney Visa- Chase said I can keep it there as surplus for trip next month or they will transfer it to my account.

Big thunder mountain railroad refurbish has changed. I was able to change 2 fast passes to add this.

Thank you SO MUCH for that info!! I was so bummed about missing that ride on 4/9. Now I have it! Not for the same time as Haunted Mansion, but 15 minutes later. Close enough!

Ok- Who started packing yet? fess up!

I did go through my cosmetic bag and updated everything in it (fresh meds, new razor, new toothpaste, etc). Packed my quart-sized Ziploc with my liquids. Removed my long nail file that the airport considers a weapon. I have to get closer to the actual date to pack my clothes since you never know about the weather.
