***The Official April 2016 Thread!***

Excessive and unwarranted negativity is skyrocketing IRL, so I think that's why we're seeing it here as well.
That's so true. The overall level of entitlement is just ridiculous these days. I mean yes- I paid a lot of money for this trip. But so did everyone else! And to expect that everything will be perfect, or lines will be non-existent, or Disney won't change something just because MY precious little self is in the parks is pretty silly. Heck- I remember standing in line for 2 hours for DUMBO once! Back in the days before FP or anything else! I still remember that day being absolute fabulous, though. ANY day in Disney is! It's all in the attitude.

Entitlement is killing America. My 10yo will have a hard time finding a hubby because she's not being raised to think entitled. She is the exception, not the rule, unfortunately.

Any day not in the office is a good day for me. Yes, I'm going for a conference. Yes, I'll be at MK on the Saturday before the conference, and Saturdays at Mk are known for crowds. BUT!! Here is the important part: I will be at Disney for 4 days! If all I do is walk around and listen and watch all day, it's still a good day!

Life is what you make of it. Don't let the Gloom-Doomers steal your fun. And take lots of pictures!

Well, I happen to have a very lovely 10yo son who is NOT being raised with that entitled mentality. Let me know if you want to sort out an arranged marriage. :D My three sons are being raised to know that if you want something, you have to work hard for it!

Just got the email that my magic bands shipped with a delivery estimate of tomorrow! I should have put our purple ones in the first shipment (we're doing a split stay and customized two sets of bands) - I can't wait to see those in person!

It's so cool to receive them, it was really hard to wait for the entire party to come home to open them. I stared at the package for about 5 hours before everyone was home.

One thing I noticed is that they are thinner, not as bulky as the previous ones we received. I like the new ones better. The purple is smooth, but so are the other colors.

Alright guys, we haven't had a Question of the Day in a while and it's almost April so let's see...

Question of the Day: What is your favorite Disney memory?

I have a few that kind of vie for "favorite." But one is actually Disney World-related - it's spending the afternoon on Tom Sawyer Island and eating a ice cream sandwich when I was a teenager. We did this with family friends (the last time us three "kids" went as actual kids together) and it was a wonderful, different day.

My favorite Disney memory....that is hard! Can I list two? Both are from my trip last year (my husband and daughters' - ages 3 and 4 - first trip ever)

1. Eating at Chef Mickey's our first night. After our first character came around, the girls were simply beaming!! They were so thrilled and starstruck! Like it was the most amazing moment of their lives! At that moment, I looked at my husband and told him that the entire cost of the trip was completely worth it! (I had been stressing about how much the trip was! Funny since we are already going back!)

2. We traveled with my parents in our trip but on our Epcot day, we split up and my husband, daughters' and I just roamed around a little, met Duffy (so sad he is gone), and gave the girls their first taste of a dole whip. Nothing specific, but that time stands out as one of my favorites from our trip! We just had so much fun hanging out with my girls...

Lots of great memories, but I'm going to pick one from my first trip to WDW, going with my sister in 1999. It was our first morning, we went to MK, and one of the first rides we did was Buzz Lightyear. We rode it for the first time (she beat me) and as soon as we got off, we looked at each other and said, "Let's go again!" Two adult ladies, excitedly hopping back in the Buzz line like a couple of kids fueled by (a healthy) sibling rivalry, ready for a rematch. For me, that's the magic of Disney.

(We rode a total of 3 times that trip; she beat me 2 times to 1. I love my solo trips, but Buzz just isn't as fun without her. She is coming with me again, though, once Star Wars land is open.)

I have so many amazing memories!! I'll share two (one recent and one from my childhood):

In 2014, seeing my DS (then age 3) meeting his first character, Pluto. It was pure magic! I'll never forget the look of wonder on his little face.

In 1990 or 91, staying at the CBR when it was new with my cousin. We made up a silly song about the resort. We still remember all the words to this day!

Happy Easter guys! It's almost April!!!

19 days for me. I got my new Bibbidi Bobbidi Brooke ears and most accessories all set and ready to go! I'm going to start packing my carry-ons tonight and I'm going to get my suitcase this week. There's some things I'm really hoping are in my suitcase from this summer so I don't have to rebuy a few basics.

26 days left here.....it is such a sweet torture...!!!

My daughers both keep saying it is so far away, but then I remind them of how it was over 100 days away when the found out we were going (on Christmas).

It is so close, yet so far away! I kind of love the anticipation.....although I just want it to be here!
