*~~~The Official April 2014 Thread~~~*

We're doing another spring break trip and going April 19-28 and doing a split stay at POR and Bonnet Creek. Can't wait to make our ADRs :woohoo:

:cool1: Welcome! I've added you to the list :) I stayed at POR last April and it was really nice. The food court there is excellent.

We have our first trip to WDW, coming from Australia 3rd April - 25th April staying at AoA n LM room. :) can't wait. 227 sleeps till we leave.

:yay: Welcome to our little group! How long is your flight from Australia to Orlando? I've always wondered how long it takes the folks from overseas to get here.

Howdy!! :wave2: I am super excited to join the April group! DH and I will be taking our first solo trip to the world from April 24-29! We are going without kiddo this time to celebrate our 10th Anniversary as well as DH's birthday (arriving on his bday!) Staying at Port Orleans French Qtr and just really excited! :cool1:

Crazy thing is though...DH is doing all the planning and I am stuck sitting on the sidelines. I plan all our trips, but he wants to surprise me and just have me enjoy the time there. Here's hoping it all goes well...guess I cant complain, I will still be in WDW!!!

:dance3: We are super excited to have you here! Congratulations on your first trip sans kids and your 10 year anniversary! :dance3:

Hi Everyone!!!

:cheer2: Welcome! :cheer2:

Hi everyone!!

We are going 3/31-4/6!!! Staying at AOA in a Cars suite! Just got back from WDW on 8/4 after staying in a Nemo suite, we loved it! May change hotel if discounts come out, as right now this trip is PRICEY, and since we just got back from our recent trip, trying to cut costs. I was really suffering from disney withdrawal, and planning this next trip has helped immensely! I have only recently become a Disney fanatic, despite going to DL many times in my childhood. Sooo we have the following planned

DL: 12/5-12/8
WDW 3/31-4/6
7 Day Cruise on Fantasy: Tentatively 8/9...

I have sort of an interesting situation. My Ex husband is going with me and my kids... we are sorta working on a reconciliation. If things don't work out between us, it may throw a wrench in the above plans, but I will either take the kids by myself, or find another someone to go with me. I make great money, and have no debt, so I am very fortunate to be able to take these trips, and absolutely can't wait! Will be making ADR's on 9/29. I love planning our trip almost as much as I love going!
We will have 8 glorious days in the parks this time, which is much longer than last.. so I plan on doing more resort time, and taking things a little slower.
Happy planning!

:wave2:Welcome! I hope everything works out smoothly with the reconciliation! I've added you to the list :)

HERE'S the thread! I was looking in the wrong places. :)
I am WDW April 25-27 (whirlwind trip...) with my 12 year old daughter, my good friend and her 12 year old daughter. We are staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge (my first time staying there!).

 I'm glad you found us! I've added you to the list :)

Definitely not the only one. The fastpass+ stuff just confuses me. :(

It confuses me too! :sad2:

Going in early April. Haven't made reservations yet, but planning on staying at Pop Century

Keep me posted on your dates and I'll add you!

Hi everyone! I am new here and this is my first post. I am in the process of booking our vacation (just waiting to hear back from the travel agent) for April 14-18 at AoA. We were just in Florida in July but we stayed off site and this is my first time staying in Disney so I am excited about that but a little overwhelmed by everything.

Also I keep seeing that that week will be super busy, how is it compared to the middle of July? I planned our days in July using a crowd calendar and I didn't find the crowds all that bad. Also this is more of a relaxed trip, more about the sights and the food and less about making sure we get on the big rides.

I have one more question (well for the moment, I really have a mile long list in my head) lol I see you guys say that the dessert party is worth doing, can you see the show on Cinderella Castle from there or is that something that would be missed?

Thanks, and I am happy to be with people who seem to love Disney as much as I do now (my family just doesn't get it:confused3)

Keep me posted on your dates and I'll add you!

Thanks. :) it will take us about 21 hours to fly from Sydney Australia to New York, spending 5 nights in New York, then a couple or hours flight to Orlando. I am so excited even though it is so long till we leave.

It's been a couple years since I went to the dessert party, but it had a great view of the fireworks and the projections onto the castle. We loved it but haven't managed to get tickets for our last couple trips.

I'm hoping to get ADRs fo ohana for dinner and be our guest. Now October needs to get here so I can lol

So happy to find this group! Going 4/12-4/18 staying at AoA. Can't wait to see if there will be any discounts for that time. Maybe S/P/D?????? Here's hoping for some Pixie Dust!!

We missed the window to get Be Our Guest for our December trip (we decided on the trip *after* the 180 day window), so we're really hoping for a reservation for BOG as well!

Hey there!

Well have made some changes... our new dates are 3/27-4/5, and staying at Boardwalk Inn! Looking forward to it! But need a discount to come out in a bad way!
For those looking for BOG reservations. We ate there last month. It was FANTASTIC!! Was one of my favorite meals of the trip. I looked for reservations every day for weeks, and nothing was available. Then, about two weeks before we left, a bunch of times opened up. Sooo if you don't get them right away, keep looking! Will be reserving there again this trip.

Also, did Wishes dessert party and thought it was great. Nice view of the fireworks, desserts were good, and not crowded at all. I am planning on doing it again this trip! Only 219 days to go!!!:hourglass

IF and I mean by IF there are no discounts for my week can anyone recommend a hotel in the Downtown Disney area that they LOVE and have stayed at? In my experience in all our trips annually something has always come out to apply, never ever paid rack rate. But given the chances that discounts are really dwindling and the chance that there may be nothing I want a back up plan with a place that is as close as can be to WDW. Thanks!

Hello! Our family is going to WDW April 26-May 4. We are staying off property at WBC. My mom is coming along with us on this trip so we need the extra space. Last time we went to WDW was in 2010 and we stayed at SS in a 1BR suite. Driving to the parks will be new for us!

We still need to find airfare and I am anxiously awaiting SW to open up their schedules.

So glad to find this thread. I originally thought this thread was only for people who were staying onsite - glad you accept outsiders too lol. Now I can share my planning obsession with others :)

Hi! I am going to Disney World for the first time in April with my family! I am so excited!!!! :D :D

Hi everyone! I will be going on a mommy-daughter trip tentatively April 12-19! I just came home from a trip with my DH on Friday and I'm already planning my April trip lol.

Here's a little background and reasoning for this trip. Three weeks before my wedding in August 2011, my parents separated. It's been a tough 2 years for her and their divorce was finally official last Thursday. She's been through a lot and she definitely needs a trip to the "happy place" as we like to call it lol. I've gone pretty much every year with DH since we started dating in 2005 but she hasn't gone (aside from a quick 1 day trip when I got engaged down there) since 2004.

We will be staying at my in-laws condo in Kissimmee to save a little money. My plan is to do 4 days in WDW and 2 days at Universal since we both love Harry Potter.

As far as ADRs, I will be trying for BOG (of course, who isn't? lol), Marrakesh, and possibly Brown Derby for Fantasmic Dinner Package. Hopefully, the EasyWDW crowd calendar will come out before the 180 day mark so I can plan accordingly.

And that's it! I look forward to talking with all of you over the next 8 months! Happy planning! :)

That is my hope as well! I keep waiting for it every day.

I will be joining everyone in April. April 3 to the 12th. I am hoping this date sticks for us. :). I had originally planned for May 1 and was going to take DD out of school for seven days. After hearing her concerns and talking to DH we decided to go during her spring break week. So she will only miss one day. I am a bit nervous as I was really hoping for lite park crowds. But I am so excited! We will make the best of whatever crowds we encounter.

Now come on discounts and hours for April.

Hope everyone had a nice summer and school transitions go smooth! Will sit down soon and try to read/learn what the deal is with fp+ ugh! Doesnt sound promising. Going to plan out dining and that about it.

Same here! I am waiting to get a 2014 WDW travel book, hopefully it will explain the new changes (ie FP+) in an easy to understand way. Oh, and I'll be picking everyone brains for the best restaurants for our family too :)

I just did the testing for MB and FP+ if anyone has any questions. I know the MB and FP+ threads can be overwhelming

thanks! I have steered clear of ALL of the Fp+ threads...dont want to read anything until its absolutely working, and the details are finalized. Even then, I am so hoping we can still keep our "cards" instead of that bracelet. :thumbsup2
