*** The Official 2014 - DLR -July Thread ***(We All Have Been There & Back Home)

They say the sequoia's are just as nice (so they say) and MUCH closer to Anahiem ! We dont have the time to see the redwoods........but the sequoias are only a 4ish hour ride from DL. !

Unfortunately it's four hours back, too :)

BTW, maybe we will bump into each other. We are staying at the GC the same time in July !

I saw that, that's so cool! We actually won tickets and airfare and hotel. I requested DLH, but was given GCH. That'll work!
[happy ferret dance]
It'll be our first time at DL, too. There's a couple of other fams on this thread who'll be at DL the same time.

Can I talk anyone into the DCA power walk tour on Friday, August 1st? It's two miles in the park before EE and it's free. I just hate doing anything by myself... I haven't even mentioned it to my fam; they're teens and Mr. FFerret. A VERY hard sale.

Everyone will probably be very busy with Special Events and with Family Members the next 2 Sunday’s so I will post the Question of the Day - today 4/12 and next Saturday 4/19.
Thanks in advance for understanding.

Ok – Be honest everyone….. How many of you? During a show for examples (Carousel of Progress, Country Bears, Tiki Room, 3-D Muppets) have been busted by a Family Member for falling asleep, snoring, talking or singing in your sleep during the show?

Our Answer – During the Carousel of Progress 2 years ago, my DD woke me up during my very load and annoying attempt to singing “It’s a great big beautiful tomorrow” while the show was going on.
Midori said people were making noises at first until they saw Midori trying to wake me up. Then it was funny… :lmao:

We will be at DL July 29th - August 3rd. Staying at the Ayres Hotel.

:welcome: Dis Family - We are very happy to have you join us.....:cool1:

I have updated you information on the front page.. Hope you get to know everyone on this thread... Pop in here everyday or when you have a few moments to talk DISNEY.:yay:

Oh my goodness with everything booked and paid for (except food and souvenirs) time is crawwwwwwling.

I just got my new travel crossbody bag today, and we all got new sandals yesterday so I'm raring to go. It's too soon to pack, right? ;)

:hyper: Nope, not to early - I have our suitcases already down and started collecting travel size personal items..

Midori wants to get a new crossbody but I think she wants to wait until we get to California.

I am so ready for our vacation.................

Slow time for you and me both! I still have to get sandals for kids, but these teens are outgrowing everything so fast I am waiting at least until May-June to get them shoes.

Um, yeah, I have been packing for a while now ;) Just yesterday I added everyone's sunglasses to the bag. Here in the lovely Pacific Northwest I tend to lose them in between using them :rotfl:. I have a list of what I need to get yet and have been trying to add it all in and finishing saving for souvenirs at the same time! I also added my Minnie Ears and DH hats for the trip. (when your head is shaved it requires a lot more ahem, coverage, lol) I keep adding in all the little things, water bottles, band aids, toothbrushes (I buy new cheap ones for the trip to chuck when we are done) toothpaste, the mini deodorants for everyone (gotta love flight restrictions on sizes of things), copy of travel plans tucked in the liner of suitcase (I print 4 of them, one for my suitcase, one for DH's suitcase, one for my purse and one that gets locked in the safe at hotel, just to be safe). I like being able to get the little things out of the way that seem to crop up. I have a running list of last minute things from previous years that I can pick up here and there. Also a list of things I thought we'd need and didn't use so I don't take up valuable space. We take carry-ons on the way there and if need be will use one of the small duffel bags that came with suitcases to fill with clothes to get put though checked luggage so souvenirs stay in the carry-ons. I figure to do something everyday so that my trip will be pleasant and I feel like I am doing something to make the time go by ::yes::

Well, thankfully I haven't fallen asleep, but I just sing at all the shows! ::yes::
I sing all through the parks...not loud and obnoxiously mind you, but I love all the music and just can't help myself! :rotfl: My DS (17) just looks at me like this :rolleyes2 They know Mom is just a big kid when she's at Disneyland! :thumbsup2

Ummm.... Nintfamily--we live in the same general geographical area... can you come pack for me too???

DH and I are going to Las Vegas on Saturday for a few days---I keep reminding myself that I need to focus on that and worry about Disneyland after!

Our 8 has become 10 for one of the days (7/11---just happens to be DH's birthday when he gets to turn as old as me).

I talked with my SIL yesterday about the trip. I'm the planner/researcher for the group... She seems very "if we don't do/see it, no big deal". I'm feeling more of a "this trip costs a lot and is really cool and I want to do/see everything". I'm hoping I can keep up my stamina while we are there and be the mom/aunt who stays at the park if that's what the kids want to do. If Grandma and my SIL need to go rest (SIL has MS and the heat affects her mobility), but the girls want to stay I'm hoping I can handle it! My SIL also said that her girls are not used to waiting in lines---and FIL has commented that at Silverwood (park in Idaho) my girls were much more likely to stand in line and wait for a ride than their cousins. But the cousins have not done this kind of thing together----maybe the "cousin pressure" to deal with the wait in order to go on the ride will help. :stir:

Wow! I wish I was as organised  I usually am but struggling a bit this year :( I'm also trying to organize everything for my youngest dd's Confirmation next month. I keep thinking when that is over I can get into full planning mode :bitelip:

Sure I can help ;) LOL!
I agree, I like to get my money's worth. Might I suggest taking a small break mid-day to swim. Since here in the PNW it is so um, well, damp. We found that a short swim break/lunch break really helped reinvigorate us. Just remember that you are there to have fun! After all you are in Disneyland, the most magical place! Just the atmosphere is amazing, don't forget to soak it up. :)

You are my kind of planner/packer!

I absolutely LOVE COP, but I have been known to nap a time or two, or three ;)

My latest Disney sleeping adventure was at the theater. My wife and daughter enjoyed Frozen while I slept.

Any other 3rd shifters on the July thread? You guys know where I'm coming from!
