*** The Official 2014 - DLR -July Thread ***(We All Have Been There & Back Home)

Bob you are doing a great job here :thumbsup2

Happy St Patrick's Day to you all, no work or school for us today but my kids are taking part in 2 different parades in different towns so I'm on yo-yo taxi duty :rolleyes1

Thanks so much Tina and OMG I forgot it was St Patrick's Day. I bet in Ireland, this is a big Holiday. You'll be busy :drive: here :car: there. Be careful and have fun. Midori is also out today. :cool1:

I thought there would be a lot more people on this thread. Maybe it's because you cant make ADR's until 60 days out,, and real planning goes into affect then.

Over on the other side of the railroad tracks, (WDW) you can make ADR's 180+ days and with 4 parks and 2 waterparks, you have to plan more....:confused3

We have a great group started and I and hoping for more to join..

Have a Great Week! :goodvibes

Maybe there isn't that many people going in July and it will make the lines shorter for us :rotfl:

Thanks Bob, it's a big day here but mostly centers around drinking and going to the pub after the parades so if your not into that it's a good day to just do nothing (or plan your DLR vacation) :cool1: I'm in between runs now so having a cup of tea and going to investigate some day trips :surfweb:
Hope Midori enjoys her day off and you have a good week also :)

Happy st Patricks day :)
So many faves to pick from!
Top princess movie would have to be SLEEPING BEAUTY
Then there's ROBIN HOOD, SWORD IN THE STONE, and JUNGLE BOOK

I asked my kids DS4 and DS6 both said Cars (the original movie). And mine would be Toy Story 3. The end gets me every time and I cry.....and also Peter Pan, because who wants to grow up!?!

Oh wow, I almost missed the movie discussion. Only talking about the classic animated films, Pinocchio is my favorite. In fact, if you need to know exactly what I think of them all, go here:

Neat Web Site.

To All - Great movie choices.... The question was not fair only asking for just 1 movie....:rotfl2:

Love the interaction of this group... We are July's Dis Family :goodvibes

We are also WDW regulars and this is our first time at DLR. Looking forward in touring the original Disneyland. My first visit was in 1968.. but don't remember much at all except for the above ground cable cars.

I noticed you were a WDW reg! When did you go last year? We got engaged in front of the castle last September :goodvibes

I have to say im disappointed that the nemo ride will be closed when we get there though.

We always visit Disney the second week of July. Love July Vacations.. Since we reside in Texas the heat and humidity does not bother us very much..

Congrat's on your engagement.. Yes very disappointed about Nemo and Bobsled...

We migrated to DLR to get away from the FP+ testing (so they call it) and the chaos. We'll return to WDW when it settles down and all of the kinks get worked out.

We love rides and being limited to reserving 3 FP+ does not work out for us. We are used to getting 10 to 14 FP per day, per park...In 2012 DD rode EE at AK 14 time before I had to carry her out of the park.:lmao: I think I rode it about 7 before I had to stop.

Looking forward to DLR for sure...

We were part of the testing for all that stuff, while it wasn't horrible it was a little overboard on the planning. Im excited to only have to plan dinner 2 months ahead instead of 6.

We live in Mass so the west cost trip is a little bit of a haul compared to Florida.

Awww, how cute are you? Lovely. Congratulations. Are you doing anything Disney-ish for your wedding?

That really is quite a distance compared to going to Florida instead. That's dedication! :)

Do I win the July board's long-haul prize though, coming from New Zealand? Any Australians or Papua New Guineans on here? I think they would beat me. I checked on a very handy website to see where you'd come out if you dug a hole straight through the earth from Disneyland (can you believe there actually is a website for that?!) and the answer is in the ocean slightly south-east of Madagascar. So I guess Madagascar is about as far from Anaheim as you can get before you start coming back around the other side. There you go, that's your useless fact for the day :rotfl:

Thanks :) We are having a non tacky Disney themed wedding ;) mickey ears included!

Its a 6 hour flight opposed to 2 and half plus losing 3 hours. But you do beat me by some mileage. I enjoyed your useless fact of the day

We are going! Just a quick trip on our way back home from San Diego. July 16-18, staying at BWPPI.

Welcome to you and your Family to our 2014 July thread. As soon as I get home, I will add your information to the front page.

Once again, glad you joined the group.

Bob
