Hi from Disneyland :goodvibes
We have only been to Disneyland Park on July 4th but happy to say that wait times were a lot less than expected. I was checking Touring Plans wait times for the last couple of weeks and also had a schedule from Ridemax but we found almost everything was a lot less than reported.

There were so many people waiting for Fantasmic & the fireworks though, it was crazy
Hope everyone who's here now is having fun and hopefully time will go quick for those of you who are going soon!

Looking forward to meeting some of you on the 12th :goodvibes

Happy to report day two was as amazing as day one if not more so! In the parks by 9 am and just got back to the room at 11:15 pm. Rode way to many attractions to list, but the new Alice was a real standout! Had lunch at Carthay Circke and dinner at Big Thunder, service and food at both was outstanding! Temps in the upper 80's again and no need for a sweater of jacket either in the morning or night time! Crowds were very low for July. Waits (with excpetion of RSR and Alice) less than 30 minutes on every thing we went on! Keeping fngers crossed the low crowd levels continue.

Hello from day 2 in DL!!! Wow, we really had an amazing first day yesterday. Entered from the Grand at 220 and got fast passes for Cars (return time 735-835). We then went over to DL, grabbed FP for Indy, walked on Pirates, 10 min wait for Thunder, shared lunch at Rancho, walked on Snow White and Mr Toad, grabbed FP for Space, road Indy (technical issues so that took some time), road space, ate at a water front table at BB and then hustled like crazy to make it to Cars (arrived at 832, phew). Cars at night is a definite MUST DO. It was fun. Got in ToT and as WOC was on we walked into Toy Story and closed it down.

The crowd meter said 7/10? It felt like a 5. Lots of room everywhere except the big rides. I have a gluten sensitivity and everyone was so awesome..lots of food choices.

Off for our first early morning into DCA...have a great one :)

We are here and also on our 2nd day! That's amazing planning cuz you got to do soooo much. Hope your luck continues!

Yesterday was our 1st day. We checked into at the Villas at the GCH early around 8:15 but didn't get the text that villa was ready until 3:58!!! Stayed in the pools the entire time til villa was ready. Got 3rd floor paradise view.

Unpacked and gave DD and DS baths. Close friends that life down the street came over our villa then we had dinner at Storytellers Cafe. Popped in at Build a Bear Workshop so their DD could make a bear. Went back to our villa to chill and watched 1/2 World of Color from the 6th floor viewing balcony then saw other 1/2 from our balcony. Kids crashed into their beds finally by 10:30-10:45.

Will attend DVC member meeting @8 then head to our GCH cabana all day !!!! Whoo- hoo!

Glad to hear the crowds were manageable. Hopefully they'll last at least another week. We're used to the crowds, though, as we've only been able to go during school vacations anyways.

In any case, now that the holiday weekend has passed, I can finally concentrate on packing. I got DD2's suprise Elsa dress over the weekend as well as some trading pins off EBay. I do have to sew up a simple top for DD2 with some fabric I bought on sale. (can you say procrastination!) Good thing the girls are in day-long camp this week. I have most of today and tomorrow to run errands. (working Wed-Fri, so no time those days.) Oh, I discovered that some glow sticks I've had forever don't work, so I've got to buy some new glow sticks for our trip.

I also just called to put in a room request at the GCH. It's been about 4 years since we last stayed. It'll be nice to be close the parks.

OK - time to get off the computer and get stuff done. Woohoo

Hey DISers! Super excited for my DL trip next week! Hopefully the low crowds will continue!

Awesome about RSR FP's I was just about to ask about experiences with them since it is connected!! Glad we don't have to rush over first thing to get them and we def want to ride at night!!

Hey, y'all!

Jumping in to this thread - just found out I'm going to L.A. (and Disneyland!!!!) at the end of the month!

I'm a HUGE WDW fan (worked there, visit every year), but I've never been to DLR - this will be my first time!

I'm traveling solo - my husband has to work. We're staying at a hotel in Santa Monica, so I'll have a pretty decent drive both days, but it will be more than worth it!

I have two-day park hoppers that I bought via Way.com. My plans so far -

Thursday, July 24th: DLP - I have late lunch reservations at Blue Bayou. Thinking about the Fantasmic! Dessert Package - thoughts?
Friday, July 25th: DCA. Still haven't made lunch or dinner reservations. Suggestions?

Also - is it easy to walk from either park to Downtown Disney? If there is a place I should eat there over inside the parks, I'm definitely down for recommendations.

Thanks y'all! I'm super excited!

Super easy to walk to DTD. In DCA we enjoy Flo's which is counter service. For table service we love Carthay Circle. Wonderful food and service. Pricey but yummy. At DTD we like Tortilla Joes they have the best guacamole! I've never done F! Dessert. Looks amazing though! I've heard you get a ton of food.
