The Official 2014 - Disneyland Resort -June Thread! Let's Plan!

3 weeks!!

I have three weeks TO THE DAY!

I am actually starting to get a little stressed. :crazy2: May is SUCH a stressful month for my house; school is winding down, DD10 is finishing up softball season and tournaments are upcoming, DD14 is in the middle of her school theater project (learn and put on an entire musical, start to finish, starting on a Monday and presenting on Saturday). DD19 just finished finals week of her freshman year of college (she is SO glad to be done for a little while). It is finally spring in Montana so DH and I are working on planting and landscaping and un-winterizing. I am feeling behind on EVERYTHING. :scared:

Not only have I not even started packing, I still don't even really know what I am taking! Normally, I would not only know what I was taking, but a lot of it would be sealed in zip-lock bags and packed already, I would have already collected all of our toiletries, etc, Mouse-Keeping envelopes would be made, filled, and set aside, ready to go. All of my vouchers, online receipts, etc would be printed and organized in a planning binder along with maps, a touring plan, etc... those vouchers are still hanging out in my email where the different companies sent them to. I am normally the world's most OCD planner when it comes to WDW vacations, this is a new experience for me, not sure I like it. :worried:

Maybe I should go sort my t-shirts...

I know how you feel - 2 weeks till we head out. May crazy month! Just had knee surgery, daughter graduating high school, having grad party tomorrow, haven't packaged at all, haven't even made a list yet lol :crazy2: and I have a cold. stressing to much.

Have a great trip!

We are so excited to be taking our first trip to Disneyland on Sun Jun 8th - Fri June 13th. We've been to WDW many times, looking forward to exploring DL. It will just be me and my 2 boys, ages 9 and 11.

We are staying at the Disneyland Hotel arriving Sunday afternoon. We'll play in the pool and then have dinner at Goofy's Kitchen. Our plan is to attend the parks each morning for early entry at 7am (CA on M/W and DL on T/TH). Friday is breakfast at Surf's up and then head to either DL or CA depending on what we've missed the other 4 days.

Looks like I'll be seeing several of you there this week! Can't wait! :yay:

We just returned from our trip to Disneyland on Monday. It was a wonderful trip. At work today, I found out I am being sent to a conference in June..and it's in Orange County! So now I am planning how to throw an extra park day on both ends of the conference. I can't believe I get to go back so soon. Whoohooo! Pixie dust!

I got our Disneyland package in the mail yesterday! I can't believe we will be there in 14 days! I can't wait to see the look on my son's face when he sees Mickey again! Now all I have to do is pack! LOL

UH OH. Between Grad Nights, F! and EMH days, this is the best night for us to do WOC. We have reservations for CC WOC package and I was planning on being ready to grab the rail spot 90 minutes before the 9:45 show. (Being able to see this time is a huge priority this trip.)

Please keep us updated about the convention plans.

My agenda states that we meet at 8:45 to head to WOC.

I just got my vouchers and tickets and luggage tags in the mail today!

:cool1: :hyper: YAY! :hyper: :cool1:

I am soooo excited!

I just ordered our park hopper tickets yesterday! Can't believe it's almost here, but have to get thru DD's prom and HS graduation first!

We will be heading to DL the second week of June. Spending two days in the parks before heading to San Diego for the remainder of the trip. This is a very last minute trip for us. We are planners and know WDW like the back of our hands, but we haven't been to DL in over 20 years! I need major help - dining to be specific. Where are THE places to eat? What food goodies are not to be missed (ie., Dole Whips!)? Looks like grad night takes place one of the two days we will be in the parks. I'm not too stressed by it though. I am normally a huge planner and have everything planned out when going to WDW, but that's not happening with this trip. So any advice would be greatly appreciated!:thumbsup2

My husband and I go to Disneyland almost every month and are huge foodies. Restaurants not to be missed in disneyland are: Blue Bayou, Carnation Cafe, Plaza Inn, Orleans Cafe, Corn Dog Cart (red wagon)
At DCA: Flo's V8 Cafe, Ariel's Grotto, Carthay Circle Restaurant

Snacks: Dole Whip, Mickey Beignets, Mini Churro's with chocolate dipping sauce (Cozy Cone Motel), Cone Queso (Cozy Cone)
** there's others but I'm blanking

One piece of advice- if you can swing it- Do the Fantasmic Dessert Package- it's $60 a person but so magical! And the desserts are pretty substantial- I always do the first viewing and they let you stay in your seat to watch the fireworks.

Also- don't do WOC dining package. I always gave the best view when I get WOC fast passes and go the viewing are where they say you'll get wet. You will get a little wet but usually can get right up to the railing with no issues.

OK... 2 weeks from now I will be at the beginning of my last day at Disneyland! If that isn't kind of depressing... :sad2: I am not sure how we will spend our day, but I know we will end it with dinner at Big Thunder BBQ. :thumbsup2

Of course, we will only be half-way through our vacation and San Diego and the beach and the Zoo and Sea World will still be ahead of us. :dance3:

10 days to go and I STILL haven't done any packing! :scared1:

We leave in 4 days and I haven't packed yet - uge but I have the 5 year old all packed. We are also doing San Diego after 3 days of disney.

So excited we leave in 2 weeks and 5 days!!:-) we arrive on Sunday June 15th and plan on going to Big Thunder Ranch BBQ for dinner at 7:50, hoping to catch the fireworks show after dinner. Does anyone know if that is possible? Not sure on how long the dinner usually lasts if a show is involved?

do all the schools in the US lend the school year may 31st? I am from Canada, and our school year ends june 30th. when does school start back up? our school starts the day after the September long weekend. so then does that mean that disneylands super busy "summer season" is june 1 - august 31?

My kids get out June 4th and go back Aug 6th. But then they have a week off in Oct. :confused3 We are doing DL June 26th-July 1st. :thumbsup2

I think, personally, you're going to be cutting it close.

That dinner is not a "show" exactly, but there is "entertainment" - just singers that interact with the crowd sometimes.

But let's say you sit down at 7:50, have your food by 8:00, take an hour to eat (so leave the area by 9:00), then you have only 45 minutes (I think fireworks are at 9:45-ish, I don't have the schedule in front of me) to haul buns from the faaaaarrrr back corner of Frontierland, back out to Main Street, and find a decent place to watch the fireworks. By then all the decent spots, even the standing spots, will be taken up. :confused3

I haven't done DL in forever, but that how my memory sees it.

I have packed!!! :cool1: Well, for me anyway. I finally got off my bum today and got it done. Now I just need to find a few unmentionables from the laundry, and I will be all set!

I don't dare pack for the kiddos without their input, and Dh won't care, he never does. He'll just toss some tank tops and some shorts on the bed and I'll have to remind him about things like swim-trunks and underwear. :sad2:

I've spent the past 12 hours in the ER with DH and we are still here waiting. Doctor wants to keep him of overnight but they don't have any open rooms.

This is so making me nervous we may have to cancel our trip next weekend. Ugh. Please keep your fingers crossed that he recovers from this intestinal infection!

Oh no!! I hope he heals quickly. :(

Well, I have cancelled my Big Thunder Ranch BBQ reservation. :upsidedow

Did this for many reasons. First is that we have been trying very hard to keep this trip more low-key than a WDW vacation would be for us. We didn't really like the idea in the first place of being tied to any reservation that would make us be at a certain place at a certain time.

Secondly, I took a good hard look at the menu and thought about my family. DH doesn't like pork ribs (he is a beef man) or beans or coleslaw. He could eat his weight in chicken, but seems silly to pay for him to just eat the chicken. DD13 is super-picky. She would eat the ribs and chicken, but wouldn't eat the beans or coleslaw or even the cornbread. DD10 isn't so picky, she would probably eat just about all of it - maybe not the beans - but not very much of any of it. She still eats like a little kid even though Disney says she is an "adult". Anyhow it seemed to be a terrible waste to pay $25+tax for each person when they wouldn't even eat most of it. For around half that cost we can go to Tomorrowland Terrace or The Plaza or another counter service where my people can just order off a menu and get what they want.

So there you go. A reservation for 7 PM on Tuesday June 10 at Big Thunder BBQ is up for grabs - not that they are probably very hard to get in the first place. :lmao:

Thanks for the input! That's what I was thinking I guess we'll just take it easy since it will be our first day and catch the fireworks another night :-)

Thanks Sorsha! Still at the hospital but in a regular patient room now so I'm hoping the doctor discharges DH soon so we can go home and sleep undisturbed. I know it's hard as the nurses need to monitor him and there are machines beeping, people talking, etc.

Good decision re canceling BTRBBQ. we did it on our last trip and it was good, but we are not big eaters and I found I much preferred a corn dog while DH preferred a turkey leg (both of which are faster, not to mention cheaper!).
