The Official 2014 - Disneyland Resort -June Thread! Let's Plan!

I just booked Hotel and got my tickets today!

Fairfield Inn - Jun 4 - 8
3 Day ParkHopper with Magic Morning and Extra ParkHopper Day from CheapTickets + cash back rebate from ebates

We go this time every year and do not have too many issues with grad night crowds.

Just booked today! We're going to the PPH (first time on site!) June 15-19. It'll be me, dh, ds9, dd8, dd5, and my parents :)

So excited!

We will be at the Villas at Grand Californian from June 18-22. This is our first trip to California and Disneyland. So far that is all I have booked. Hoping to book our flights from New Orleans sometime this week and I have been looking around for deals on park passes. Several of you mentioned buying tickets through Orbitz and saving 20%. Are they still offering this deal? I looked on their website but did not see it.

We are flying in to LAX and renting a car for the week. We plan to spend 3 nights after we leave Disneyland in the Hollywood or Santa Monica area to do some sightseeing. Our daughter is 16 so she wants to see Venice Beach, Santa Monica Pier, Malibu, Beverly Hills, Sunset Strip, etc. while we are there.

This will be the first time for my DSs and myself to visit DL. My DH went as a child. I am so excited and overwhelmed. Our plans are to be in Anaheim from June 8 - 13th, but we're only going to spend two days at DL and DCA. I would love to do more, but the DH won't let us. He had sworn to no do any Disney trips for a long time, but is willing to do two Disney days. We're planning on doing the DDP for the two days we spend in the parks, and staying at a good neighbor hotel. Probably the closest Holiday Inn, because that is the one the DH is leaning toward.

I'm assuming the character vouchers are only good for character meals and not just normal TSs?
The other dining certificates, are those good at quick service, or can they be used at TSs as well?

Add one more to the list! We're WDW vets headed to DLR for the first time, and we'll be there from June 12-17, with four days scheduled for the parks.

Definitely looking forward to the planning process, as there is so much new information to consider, and I'm thankful for all the great tips I've read already on DIS.

But mostly we're just thrilled at the prospect of experiencing Disney in a whole new way, and we're excitedly counting the days! :-)

Other DISBoard experts (maybe HydroGuy?) have said before that WDW vets accustomed to vouchers/dining plans should NOT get them at DLR. There's no advantage. At DLR they pretty much are only good for face value and you may not want to be forced to spend that much. I don't know if the character meal vouchers are redeemable at regular TS/CS restaurants.

The only advantage I can think of is that if you're bad at budgeting/saving a large sum of money for the trip itself without raiding it for other expenses, you can buy the dining vouchers ahead of time to make sure you have enough money to cover meals by the time of the trip.

FWIW, I purchased character meal vouchers because Orbitz/ebates had that 10% off cashback promotion a month or so ago. I bought mine before they did the 20% off promotion, which would make it even more worthwhile but 10% was still good enough for me to jump on this.

I may be wrong (Disneyland vets, jump in here) but I believe the Dining Voucher program has been discontinued for Disneyland. I know it wasn't offered to me when I booked on the website the other day (under options for dining, it just said "none available"). :confused3

We're going to be there June 8-11! :) We are WDW vets but always wanted to go to DL. We chose this year because I am so frustrated with the Magic Band stuff going on at WDW!

It's fun to plan and wonder about a Disney park again! I remember doing this before our honeymoom for WDW (my first trip as an adult).

Staying at Grand Cali.

Thanks. I did more reading after I posted, and it does look like it isn't as good of an option as the WDW DDP. The DH is still leaning toward doing it, so we have everything paid for, as far as the DL part of the trip paid.

I was able to price it the other day. I think it came up when I clicked to view the details under where the picture of the resort is as your pricing trips.

We are also going to be there June 7 - June 15th. We are looking at going to Disney June 8,9 & 10th. Hopefully Gad night won't be bad on the 10th... Planning on going to Universal Studios on the 12th & 13th. The last time we went to Disneyland was 5 years ago so we excited to go back. :cool1:

We're going in June as well. It's our first trip to LA and to Disneyland. I'm excited to try DL, the smaller parks and closer together....and hotel across the street!! I think that will be a nice change from the constant busing back and forth at WDW. That gets old after a few days!

Going to be at DL for our first trip there June 2-4. Ya short I know :( but we are staying in Escondio perhaps not spelled right so we are also doing San Diego too.

We'll be there 10th to 17th June over our 10th wedding anniversary. We're travelling from the UK, we've previously spent one day at disneyland 6 years ago but haven't been to California Adventure. Will probably do 11th, 12th and 17th in the parks. Looking forward to it although a bit sad that so many rides that are only at disneyland are closed when we're there

We are going to Disneyland for the first time May 31-June 7th. We are WDW vets and I'm afraid we won't have enough time to see everything. I feel like I am stepping into the unknown and feel very unprepared compared to WDW.

You should be fine with seeing everything during this time. I will be there those same dates. It will just be me and my 9 year old son. I am taking him there to celebrate his birthday :)

We will be there the last week of June. This will be our 2nd trip to DL. Last year we visited WDW and I prefer DL. Can't wait to see all the changes.

Yay! Just got confirmation on my days off for June. We're going June 1-5. Might be our final and third trip for our APs. We're leaving this Saturday for our Spring Break trip! I've told DD8 to get her fill of Space next week since it'll be down for our June trip. On the upside, DD5's favorite ride Little Mermaid will be up and running again.

We get out of school may 30 here in Utah but there are also year around schools who don't get out till July. We go back Aug 25.

My wife and I are taking our DS 7 and DS 5 for their first trip to DLR. We will be there from June 10 - 18 and plan on getting a 5 day hopper pass. My wife and I haven't been to DLR for about 8 or 9 years, so we are definitely ready to go back. Wanted to wait for the kids to be old enough to remember their first trip, so this has been some time coming. We are planning on staying at the BW Stovall's and think they are a pretty decent spot. Any tips or suggestions are welcomed and thanks for all the previous posts.
