~*~The OFFICIAL 2014 Dates Thread - Come Join Us!~*~

Fingers crossed we'll be back in the world the first or second week in Dec next year! It will be DS's first trip:cool1:. My parents are planning on joining us along with my BFF and her family. That makes 6 adults and 3 kiddos.

Planing on staying at POR, my parents want to camp which will all but force us to go and see everyone's decorations. I am a window decorator, it enhances my joy:banana::banana: so there is that too

I want to make the trip magical for everyone but not drive myself nuts in the process. It's a fine line that's for sure:lmao:

Hi there Sara and welcome to the group! :goodvibes Sounds like you have a large group going - the more the merrier, right? :teeth:

Look forward to getting to know you. If you have questions about anything, don't hesitate to ask!

Okay we are switching to November 2014 not 100% on dates but looking at the week before Thanksgiving, sooooo excited! Now to change my ticker! :goodvibes

What made you decide to switch to November? Are you planning to do MVMCP? :santa:

And it starts....... I changed from CBR to WL on Monday. Ran the numbers with the predicted discounts and thought, hmm that could work. Now today I am thinking, do I really want to spend that much money?? So I start investigating offsite. Found one in WH, emailed and got a quick response and quote-about 1/3 of CBR room only. In 2011, we used my mom's timeshare for $99. Cant get that price for this trip because of the way dates fall, so it was dismissed early on. Then realized today, we can just pay her fee for next year and get the condo for half of the WH cost. Holy crap. I give all this info to DH and discuss the perks to onsite. The only sticking point is evening EMH. Apparently he really liked being in the parks late last year. So now I REALLY need those Feb hours to see if rumors are true. Still a little concerned that FP+ will end up benefiting resort guests more than offsite. But I could keep the Disney reservation for a while until more info comes out. Just thought of that. And dont get me started on deciding on ADRs!! Lol. Next Sunday is my date for that. This will be an interesting week. :rotfl:

I've been wondering about the February hours - been checking several times a day for them and the crowd calendar as well. ::yes:: Hopefully they'll be released soon so that will be one less thing for you to think about!

Have you been keeping up with the FP+ thread? I gave up on them when the one got to be 100+ pages and everyone was saying something different! :rotfl:

Yeah it is amazing how so many people comment on something no one knows anything about. :rotfl2: I did see someone say the parade and fireworks fp+ worked well for her. I would be interested in that since DH is never going to wait an hour or more to have a "good spot" for a parade.

I actually told DH we could wait until November so more details will be worked out. He said he wants to go in Feb and then we could go Nov/Dec 2015. :cool1: I am getting as many trips as I can out of my "once every 5 years" husband. :thumbsup2

My thoughts exactly! :lmao: I quit trying to keep up with it when I saw it was mostly speculation and not much else. :p

Is your husband not a parade person? I waited much, much longer than an hour for the MNSSHP parade - well worth it, too! :thumbsup2

Making any headway on that solo trip? :teeth:

Bearcats yes I'm thinking MVMCP! I love all holidays, but Christmas is my number #1 and with my family of 6 it should be a blast. I got read the riot act by hubby and my oldest (DD10) for considering being in the world on actual Halloween (who knew?!) So we looked at the calendar and came up with some other budget friendly choices our #1 choice is now November 15-22, 2014.. But nothing in stone (or cash) yet... So excited to try a different time of year! Did Oct. 2012 ( first time with our kids), Sept 2007 (dad & stepmother took the family), May 2000 (honeymoon), and May 1994? (my grandparents took us for our first trip ever!). So this will be new, new, new! Means lots of research for me, but like any good DISer I love it!

Have you had much rain while you've been there? I noticed on the local radar the other day they were showing rain, rain, rain for Orlando.

Bummer about your beach towel. :( Hopefully they can locate it and get it back to you.

Hope you have a safe trip home! :goodvibes

It rained a little almost every day in the later afternoon...evening but wasn't too bad. We planned on downtown Disney Thursday night but it stormed the Friday we had to get out of line for meeting buzz due to lightening and all characters being pulled inside but other than that it wasn't bad and actually cooled the evening s down a bit. It was around 92 to 95 every day. In Tennessee now and loving the cooler weather!

I have got to make my reservations! My DH can't believe I haven't made them and haven't been talking disney, lol! A lit of it has to do with this FP+ - I hate not knowing what is going on with it! We make ADRs but I hate the idea of having to plan when we are going to ride certain rides - I dot want to be that scheduled on vacation!

I'll add for those going in July be prepared for crowds! And tour groups! We utilized fats past and did great on rides. From open to about 100 was perfect...short wait times and walked on many attractions. From one to about five was extremely hot and crowded. We didn't watch parades because you had to stake out spots early and for us too hot to sit in one place that long. We had good luck with buses as they were really efficient. We were treated really good with a lot of magic and pixie dust and I think its because we went in with smiles and were polite to everyone...even had one cast member tell us we were one in a million his week to be so considerate.
That being said I'm looking to return at a time with cooler weather and lighter crowds.

Ummm no, DH is not a parade person. And really I'm not either so it is okay. But I would watch one if it worked out.

And now we are considering AoA-LM room and no dining plan, but eating where we want. I wish I was a person who could just pick a resort and be happy!! :rotfl2: I just want to stay at them all.

I would eventually like to go during the Christmas season so I can see all the decorations. :goodvibes You'll have to take tons of pictures!

Did you end up staying in TN or did you go ahead and drive home today? I'm not sure where you are in Ohio. I love TN! Such a beautiful state.

Haven't been talking Disney? What is wrong with you?!? :scared1: :lmao: Bad DISer, bad, bad DISer! :rotfl:

:goodvibes I truly believe that you get back what you give, and that if you treat others how you would want to be treated, you'll rarely be disappointed in the way people treat you. ::yes:: Good karma all the way around. :teeth:

I love Little Mermaid rooms! We stayed in All Star Movies this past week since we went on such short notice and couldn't get into the LM rooms (and didn't want to spring $ for a suite) and while the kids loved the Toy story theme I just missed AoA.

We spent the night 7 miles into TN but only long enough to sleep. We live in northwest Ohio just about on Lake Erie so we wanted to get going - managed to get home about 5 pm

Hey OhioDisneyLover - another Buckeye for our group! :yay: Glad you decided to join us! Don't just sub ... jump on in and start chatting! :hyper2:

Yeah for more Ohio people!! :cheer2:

Do you get to Lake Erie often? I've always wanted to get up to that area. :goodvibes

Glad to see you got home safely. Now to start planning for 2014! ::yes:: :teeth:

I live very near Lake Erie:) DH fishes a lot - we make it down by the beaches and Maumee Bay State Park (love the resort's Sunday brunch) but I'm not on the lake much (and don't believe in swimming in it in this area). once the kids get a little older we plan on getting a boat for up here.
